I like that Wakas...
My whole point is that...how do you install a System in Society...that "Apparently" No one understands?
That would be like making a Written Constatution...yet...nobody knows the language...or if they do they dont know the meaning...and if they do...they cant even agree upon the meaning.
What I am trying to say is THE QURAN. We need to First Understand what its saying and what the RULES are. If we cannot agree on what the RULES are saying...then how can we Enforce Regulations/Punishments for those who break the Rules....?/...Espescially if that end in itself is a Rule?
So what is the Quran Alone Society according to Settletruth?
A bunch of Quran followers who do whatever their Interpretations tell them to?
Well then...MY interpretations says that I am allowed to have Sex with married women and NOT get 100 lashes.
so...what is everyone going to say about that?....(dont say anything or Ill accuse you of being a Quranic-Totalitarian-hadithist.)See, what we need to do First is Understand and Agree on THE MEANING
Salaam/Peace

You may think no-one understands or is not in agreement. I have not studied it in terms of application, but I dont see a major problem.
From my studies, AQ employs a top down approach, i.e. there are some solid basics that are rarely disputed, then as you filter down into more detail, then yes you get variance. You should not take this forum as a good example, as people can post many views, and there is a constant influx of new members who repeat the same discussions. You will not find many long term forum members in disagreement, and in terms of practical difference, there is even less disagreement between them.

What can we do to Start?
Peace RA786
Starting a huge organization is most likely not practical and not realistic. It costs much, takes too much time, and too much energy. Besides there will probably be lots of dissagreements between the members in the organization, and often lots of group-thinking as well. Instead of being part of the clique or being a groupie, we can be our own leaders. So i advice you to be your own boss. Start your own little organization. Create your own office. Be a leader, not a follower. Self-reliancy is one of the best ways to be free and independent in life. Being part of a group makes us dependent. Educate yourself fully and stay alone. However, i am not suggesting that we always work alone. Cooperation with other people can sometimes be very beneficial, and give us great enjoyment. For example, some projects will give greater results if you cooperate with other people. But never commit to anyone. Do not give your freedom and your control away. Do not let anyone decide how you should act or what you should think. You see, when we are part of a group or an organization, we have to be politically correct. For example if a group of 3-4 people from an islamic organization come to a university to hold a conference or a lecture, then they have to be politically correct. They can not speak their mind to the fullest. So by other words, they are restricted and limited. Or if someone is a lecturer at a university, he can not speak his mind to the fullest when he is holding lectures to his students. He has to follow some rules. Why? Because if he says too radical or controversial things, he might get fired. So his self-interest will not let him be himself or speaking his mind fully. So he will be a censored version of himself. The state and the university will limit him. So when we are part of a group, organization or corporation, we do not decide fully what we want to do or say. We are restricted by laws that are not always logical, ethical or mindful. We are restricted by norms and traditions. And when we work with people or for people we will sooner or later have to conform. Therefore i think we should be our own bosses.
So what can people do if they want to start their own organization, to start their own movement?
- They can spread knowledge about islam on "traditional forums about islam".
- They can make a homepage or blog about islam.
- They can speak with their friends and aquaintences about islam (spread the word).
- They can start a magazine about islam.
- They can work as journalists by writing articles about "Islam in a newspaper".
- They can hold seminars in local libraries
- They can make youtube videos about islam (Videos similar to zeitgeist or esoteric agenda).
All the solutions above (except nr 7) are cheap, don't take much time, they are practical, simple, mindful, and you will reach the highest amount of persons in the fastest ways. And you can do most of them right from your own home (We don't have to take a trip to the other side of the world with a plane just to meet the other members of our organization). People will save alot of money by not taking planes all the time, and those approaches will save our planet as well. Those approaches are very friendly to our environment and our planet.

In a sense I think that people who gather here are revolutionaries. Who was it who said that ideas can change the world? I think that we are at the idea stage, to try to give a SET form to the ideas at this stage is to schackle them. Many of us are in fact discovering Qur'an, we do not want to kill the chicken in the egg. Minds must change in order that those minds may in the future produce practical outcomes of those mindsets. People are still schackled to many "muslim" and non "muslim" prejudice. What conditions is not what one consciously puts into wrritten rules, but those prejudices we are not even conscious that they exist or cannot recognize as such andwhich may in fact be construed into those conscious rules without even our noticing, so, from my point of view the last thing we should do now would be to SET rules or SET interpretations. We have a long way to go. We are too young just as I get the impression that our brother RA786 is. There are many things we may put into practice at individual level at this time, and as other have said, in the meantime, keep boring the ideas in the fora we may have access to, repeat and invite and make known and current the Quranic concepts and keep studying. We are still studying, we are still discovering (at least I am and I see that many others are) we do not want to throw upong others a bunch of rules already set that have not been even digested. And the ideal is that nobody has too much need to SET quranic rules, but rather that those that are reached at are crystalised through maturity and are arrived at by practical consensus.
I commend as somebody has already said in the thread what I consider the most characteristic of islamic of virtues Patience. Keep at it and not lose heart and believe that what we strive for in sha Allah, Allah will make true.
Salaam
