As I said before, there is no one born left-handed. it's a habit .

Sorry, but this is a baseless claim.

    Left-handedness/right-handedness is determined in fetuses.

    http//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Left-handedness

    • Hand orientation is developed in fetuses, most commonly determined by observing which hand is predominantly held close to the mouth.
    • In 2007, researchers discovered LRRTM1, the first gene linked to increased odds of being left-handed.
    • Long-term impairment of the right hand People with long-term impairment of the right hand are more likely to become left-handed, even after their right hand heals. Such long-term impairment is defined as eight months or more.
    • Testosterone Exposure to higher rates of testosterone before birth can lead to a left-handed child. This is the Geschwind theory, named after the neurologist who proposed it, Norman Geschwind. It suggests that variations in levels of testosterone during pregnancy shape the development of the fetal brain. Testosterone suppresses the growth of the left cerebral hemisphere and so more neurons migrate to the right hemisphere. The highly developed right hemisphere is now better suited to function as the center of language and handedness. The fetus is more likely to become left-handed, since the right hemisphere controls the left half of the body. The theory goes on to tie the exposure to higher levels of testosterone and the resultant right-hemisphere dominance to auto-immune disorders, learning disorders, dyslexia, and stuttering, as well as increased spatial ability.

The article has references from scientific research, so it can be safely assumed that right/left-handedness is determined from birth, and your opinion "there is no one born left-handed" lacks evidence.

      Salaam,

This statement of yours compels me to wrote a response

When God said in a verse that the left position is for the infidels and the non-believers , so be clever and interpret that the left position is not a good thing because it's a position of non-believers

Do you take the verse literally? I'll use your approach to this verse and your defense on left-handedness being unnatural in this case

God says in the Qur'an the He condemns the blind and the deaf. Does that mean people who are born blind and/or deaf are unnatural and hence violating God's laws? I mean, being blind and deaf can NOT be natural, it's got to be a habit like you said about being left-handed. That, if I use your argument of course .

Anyway, I take the verses about blind and deaf metaphorically of course .

      Salaam.

        Salam Aleikum everyone

Does anyone know why Muslims believe that everything has to be done using the right hand? Is there any basis for it in the Quran?

No, But in hadhith there is.

But what about people who are born left-handed? It's like telling a right-handed person to use their left hand to write, use a scissors, etc.
            ???

They dine with the devil !

they said the same things about gays people, and I've learnt that no one born gay or left-handed, because both of them are an abnormal activity from someone has taken from his environment or absence of care .

I believe that if you were "Born Left Handed" you can change, and vise versa.

I think if you practice enough you can write, eat, lift, etc will BOTH hands. it takes time and effort.

what you stated is totaly different from the problem here, absolutely different . here God gave a metaphore situation where the deaf and the blind have a typical lack of organs who they are necessary for someone normal, so he meant by the deaf who they cover their eyes and by the blind who they don't want to see the truth and cover their eyes from seeing it .. the case here about the left-handed people is abnormal and it's under the lack of attention from parents . so here Good didn't mention any metaphore about the left-handed people but he described that this position basically is for the infidels . so your choice of approaching is weak

I put Born left handed in """" Quotations """ meaning Supposedly. Because I dont know if I really believe you are Born that way, rather I think that is only a theory.

I am more leaning towards the belief that you are probabily born Neutral, and over time you develope a prefference.
This may be wrong too as it is only a theory.

If it is true that you are really Born that way, i think either way it is possible to control both hands.

For instance, There are people who can right perfectly with BOTH hands, Eat with BOTH hands, Play baseball with BOTH hands while most people can only do Left or RIGHT. so I was just saying that I think with Much Practice, Humans can learn to Utilize BOTH hands to great ability.

Look we're talking about could someone born left-handed ? we know that something we born with, absolutely we can't change it. so being practice the things is different from things we born with.

Children usually develop hand preference during preschool years so starts around 3 years old, by school age (5) children usually have a hand preference. you could always give a child a pen/toy etc in their right hand but the child would still develop their own hand preference.

People can train themselves (easier when they're younger) but what's the point? it may not go as neat as your other hand preference..
hand writing is for communication you use both your hands, should you stop typing with your left hand because it's on the "left" side. people need to stop picking and overlooking elements.

The brain is cross-wired the left hemisphere controls the right handed side of the body and vice-versa .

The left hemisphere (RIGHT HAND CONTROL) controls the following Speech, Language, Writing, Logic, Mathematics, Science, this is the LINEAR THINKING MODE.

The right hemisphere (LEFT HAND CONTROL) controls the following Music, Art, Creativity, Perception, Emotions, Genius, this is the HOLISTIC THINKING MODE.

so you use your left side of the brain to control your right hand and the right side of your brain to control your left hand.

The lefties are more creative P

In the past we didn't have very high hygiene standards and couldn't be clean like we can now. So we wiped with our left hand and we eat with our right. Even today I wipe with my left. This is why we shake with the right hand as well.

The right hand is also usually your sword hand. Imagine a line of soldiers with sword and shield and that one guy in the middle was left handed. Here is a visual
yeah yeah yeah yeah welcome yeah yeah

That guy saying welcome is saying here is the weak spot in the shield wall.

Now times have changed. In the modern home the toilet is often within 5 metres of the kitchen. Many forget how radical that is.

The view that the devil is signified by the left hand has caused a lot of misery.

Stick to the handedness issue, btw.

should I be scientist to answer this question ? No, read carefuly what I'm saying (this is a law of nature ) the things that someone born with, can't change them>>>> the end.

let's see our case here " the left-handed person", the mind of man divise into two sections, the right one control the left side of the body, and the other left section control the right side of the body, so this man who as you claimed born left-handed which section of his mind will control the left hand ? using the left hand is not sychological infact it's more psychological because here the child who used to use his left-hand, he deceives his mind that the left-hand is the right because maybe it was near to his mouth more than the right hand and this thing also can occured because of the parents if they didn't pay attention to the child.

You don't have to be a scientist, you just need to show the evidence that refutes my evidence that left-handedness is a condition some people are born with.

Of course, if a human is born left-handed, it is still his right side of the brain that controls it. It's just more dominant than his left brain (which controlled his right side of the body).

btw I'm not aware if the term "sychological" means anything. You mistyped?

                                          Assalamu aleikum,

We are not robots, the people can be left handed, right handed or ambidexterious, that dosen't matter. God haven't created us like robots, the people are different and not the same, the only thing wich matters it's what are you doing in life. That's dosen't matter with what hand are you writing, eating, holding the Qur'an.... this ,,right handed" thing it's like a superstition.

                                          Peace.
