    Salamun alaikum,

Brother simples, just identifying that a common practice exists with the Zoroastrians does not mean that it is wrong.

The requirements for wudhu are physical and are the BASIC requirements. If you do not do those things and you are still unclean - well you then need to take a bath and shouldn't be performing wudhu.

I agree with you, people leave themselves still wet after performing wudhu - and this is an excellent medium for the growth and spreading of harmful microbes - but this is because people take some hadith about not drying yourself afterwards and add extra gargling motions etc - in THEIR eyes they are replacing having a good scrub and clean with a ritual.

Personally, the act of performing wudhu is refreshing and mentally prepares me for praying. In a hot country, no doubt you can just wash yourself and you would dry without the need of a towel - you WOULD feel refreshed too. I don't subscribe to the half-a-lota limit for using water for wudhu that the brelwis have. I will use it freely.

Wudhu is also about taking care of yourself. You use your hands and feet in your daily activities - so you would clean them...

try this yourself, if you work in an office, don't wash your hands all day, then at the end of the day use warm water and soap - you can see the dirt just falling off - it's that you are wholly unclean, just that your hands need a wash...

Also, on a second point, there is no need to interpret the verse in any other way other than using the words given as it is a command...

I hope I didn't ramble on too much.

Oh, and RA786 - great picture - it's burnt onto my retina now - THANKS!

    Peace
    d

Its okay to do wudu , but do it with soap peace

But i have given up the practice of wudu &
    peace

      Salamun alaikum,

Simples - it's fine if you've given it up, I assume then that you bathe prior to praying or before doing salat?

      Peace

        Well darcus,

I bath every morning that suffices.

And the second quistion, i consider tha sallat to be something done between mankind-to benefit/educate one another for the better.

God, well he is aware of us always and knows whether we are on his side or not.

I know you believe in the kaaba and all, nothing wrong with that, in fact there isn't anything wrong with any religion as long as you behave goodly.

        peace

So me meeting up with my friends and talking about what is the best Alternitave to Gasoline 3 times a day can be consittered my Salaat according to you?

Or also, Just me going to work and working all day could then be consittered my Salaat. (since in someway it will benifit mankind)?

So really then just living life normal can be consittered Salaat and Going into the city and doing a little charity could be consittered Hajj.

wow Islam really is fairly easy then. Its basically just doing things normally like every other person in my city.

              "Whats Your religion?"

              -"Living life".

why 3 time?! The number is according to your requirements.

Or also, Just me going to work and working all day could then be consittered my Salaat. (since in someway it will benifit mankind)?

No but you can have a meeting with your collegues or your boss, that would be.

So really then just living life normal can be consittered Salaat and Going into the city and doing a little charity could be consittered Hajj.

Salaat in the west you do it in a bank ,a school,at home, during a crises,in the houses of parliment you are in salaat even know putting your honest opinions -if they are honest and not merely reverberating what you have been programmed with.

Hajj- a desire for a fair and just system.

wow Islam really is fairly easy then. Its basically just doing things normally like every other person in my city.

                          God Bless.

and the behavior of a Muslim is to simply do good. and to simply do Hajj (desire to want a just system) and Salaat (to meet with people about good things)...
so basically...under those Conditionss Anyone can be a muslim.

Even Occultic Sun worshippers can then be muslim. I have also seen many Wiccans who

                          A) Belive in God (s)
                          B)Do Hajj
                          C)Do Salaat

So I guess their Muslim too.

The more I think of it...It seems to me that This Simplified view of the Quran takes away from the Amazingness I thought of Islam.
Im not trying to sound arrogant, its just that...well... Did a Book with 114 chapters really NEED to be reavealed to simple just say 3 things?

A)Do Hajj (Desire to WANT a Good System) ---Opps Almost forgotThose of you who are "able" to do so
                          B) Do Salaat (Meet up with others who want to talk about Good stuff)
                          C) Believe in God.

I think all of this could have been achieved on 1 page.
An Atheist would even say that this has already been the goal of humans way before the Quran and in other books such as Karl Marks Communist Manifesto.

If Hajj is really JUST "A desire to want a better system for humanity...we uh....I think the WHOLE WORLD would agree to that.
The whole world has done hajj then at one point of another.

Karl Marx, Che Guavara, and many others have all done Hajj. EVen I have done hajj (everyday) by simply "Wanting" a better system.

This is what I dont understand If The Quran Simply is a Book simply requests you to do hajj and salaat...why did it take 114 chapters and 20 years to do so?
Couldnt any sane humanbeing have done the same thing on less paper?

                          • Personnally, I obviously think there is more to islam that your simplfied Hajj and Salaat and absence of wudu.*
I dont think that Allah would repeat himself a Million different ways saying the exact same thing so we get confused.

                          i.e.

"Do Good Deeds......Do Salaat....Do Good types of works....Do Salaat....
Want a better system......hajj.....want a better way of life....durring the hajj 4 sacred months do hajj ....want a better government...lol
                          ???

Sorry Br i can't accept your rules when your rules can make monkies and pigs from men - as are in your quranic translation and other things besides.

Why do you call me "Br" (which I assume means 'brother&#039 then lie or misrepresent my views immediately after?

Where have I ever said "make monkies and pigs from men" and what is this "your quranic translation" of mine you refer to?

Let me put it as clearly as I can for all forum members 'Simple' frequently posts translations yet disregards cross-reference, Quranic grammar, often confuses roots, and is deceptive in his approach i.e. when caught out he says he will do cross-reference in future yet never does or makes up his own reasoning on the correct root (yet knows almost no Arabic), and as you can see above does not mind misrepresenting/lying about others' views.
On the plus side, not all his posts are nonsense if you shoot enough bullets in the dark you're bound to hit the target on occasion.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

Its good to quistion things , but even better to research to answer and remove any doubts about the things we believe.

Why are four months forbidden? e.t.c

Manaans dictionery is agood start, and lanes too i think you can find them on line aswell.

                                  http//thequran.wordpress.com/quran-study-tools-2/

then if you face any quistions you can't find answers to then ask at free minds and see the different views of people and some of them are jems, that is how i see it.

                                  Thanks.

                                  peace

                                    yeah thanks simple...

I just read the Hajj/feast thread with Ayman and Wakas...as well as many other threads...

wow...So I guess everything has changed...or some would say "restored"?

I still find it incredible that mankind apparently has failed to understand a book for about 1,500 years now.
the Arabic Language has been dead and misunderstood/manipulated for 1,500 years...
and basically Islam/Quran right now to me seems like something so vauge anybody can just interprete and translate it to mean whatever you want it to.

Hair No problem...dont want it GONE.
                                    Rama...what? Hajj smajj.... Prayer?-no way...

It just seems like One whole New and different Quran. 100% different translation/interpretation.

In english IF I write "HAIR" it means HAIR....it doesnt mean racecar.
If a paper says Pilgramage....I don get how now it means Feast.
Or How did it go from Wuzu (Cleaning your body) to meeting up with cool dudes and protecting yourself?

giveup it seems all like One waste of time...We're trying to "Remember the Message"...but how do you remember something that has been forgotten for 1,500 years and apparently no one understands?

I am not Ridiculing Islam or Allah, I am just being sarcastic and angry/fusterated. Its my short-comming.. brickwall brickwall

                                      According to the grammer you up hold so dearly;
                                      Man change to apes ;
                                      265
Is that according to the grammer you uphold?
If it is how am i lying?
If you don?t believe in such a translation then my apologies.

I do not believe in a literal rendering of that passage. I take it to mean they exhibit the attributes/behaviour of such creatures, e.g.

                                      Muhammad Asad - End Note 133 (7166)
According to Zamakhshari and Razi, the expression "We said unto them" is here synonymous with "We decreed with' regard to them" - God's "saying" being in this case a metonym for a manifestation of His will. As for the substance of God's decree, "Be as apes despicable", the famous tabi'i Mujahid explain it thus " their hearts were transformed, that is, they were not transformed into apes this is but a metaphor (mathal) coined by God with regard to them, similar to the metaphor of `the ass carrying books' " (Tabari, in his commentary on 265; also Manar I, 343; VI, 448; and IX, 379). A similar explanation is given by Raghib. It should be borne in mind that the expression "like an ape" is often used in classical Arabic to describe a person who is unable to restrain his gross appetites or passions.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

Why do you call me "Br" (which I assume means 'brother&#039 then lie or misrepresent my views immediately after?

Let me put it as clearly as I can for all forum members 'Simple' frequently posts translations yet disregards cross-reference, Quranic grammar, often confuses roots, and is deceptive in his approach i.e. when caught out he says he will do cross-reference in future yet never does or makes up his own reasoning on the correct root (yet knows almost no Arabic), and as you can see above does not mind misrepresenting/lying about others' views.
On the plus side, not all his posts are nonsense if you shoot enough bullets in the dark you're bound to hit the target on occasion.

I think i have researched enough of the quran , have learnt a great deal here by my method of abusing the normal translation techniques. Which is not acceptable in that you have to be so rude in your remarks and demean people which to me is intolerable i have often seen this approach of yours before its not acceptable at all i can?t change your nature so i will change myself and remove myself from free-minds, mind saying that it is a great place for people to learn from, but they should never be prevented by the method i have used or criticessed for it, as it works .

                                        Peace.
