where is it from then?
Ritual Prayer In Zoroastrianism
Master sequence of prayers
First, take a bath, or wash the hands and feet and face. With a cap or scarf on your head, and facing the sun or light, remove the Kusti from your waist. Then pray the Ashem, Yatha, Kemna Mazda, start tying Kusti, AhuraMazda Khodae, (finish tying Kusti), Mazdayasno ahmi, Sarosh Baj, Ahmai Raeshcha, Hazangrem, Jasemeavanghe Mazda, Kefreh Mazda, then the appropriate Geh, then the Farajyat (compulsary) prayers like Khorshed and Meher Nyaishes (only in the first three Gehs), Atash Niyaesh, Hormuzd Yasht, and then Ardibehest Yasht.
A detailed guideline for each Geh follows. Note that the most prayers are recommended in the first Geh, Havan, and this includes the Ardibehest Yasht. The Havan Geh is therefore the best time to pray this Yasht.
Havan Geh (Sunrise to 1240 PM)
Getting up before sunrise, pray the Hoshbam. When the sun rises, start the master sequence above. Continue with Khorshed, Meher Nyaishes, Vispa Humata, Atash Niyaesh, Hormuzd Yasht. If possible, also pray the Big Haptan Yasht, Ardibehest Yasht, Sarosh Yasht Hadokht and Vanant Yasht. Then the Doa Nam Sataishne, Char Dishano Namaskar, Duva Tandorosti, and Din-no-kalmo.
Rapithavan Geh (1240 to 340 PM)
Start the master sequence above. If possible, continue with Sarosh Baj, Rapithavan Geh, Khorshed, Meher, Atash Niyaeshes, Doa Nam Sataishne, Char Dishano Namaskar, Duva Tandorosti, and Din-no-kalmo.
Ujiren Geh (340 PM to sunset)
Start the master sequence above. If possible, continue with Sarosh Baj, Ujiren Geh, Khorshed, Meher, Ava Ardvisur and Atash Nyaishes, Doa Nam Sataishne, Sarosh Yasht Hadokht, Char Dishano Namaskar, Duva Tandorosti, and Din-no-kalmo.
Aiwisuthrem Geh (sunset to 1240 AM)
Start the master sequence above. IF POSSIBLE, continue with Sarosh Baj, Aiwisuthrem Geh, Cheragno Namaskar (homage to the lamps), Mah Bokhtar (homage to the moon), Atash Niyaesh, Sarosh Yasht Vadi, Doa Nam Sataishne, Duva Tandorosti, and Din-no-kalmo.
Ushahin Geh (1240 AM to Sunrise)
Start the master sequence above. IF HEALTH ALLOWS, continue with Sarosh Baj, Ushahin Geh, Atash Niyaesh, Doa Nam Sataishne, and if possible Hormuzd Yasht, Ardibehest Yasht, Sarosh Yasht Hadokht, Duva Tandorosti, and Din-no-kalmo.
Notes
Ava Yasht - if not possible daily, then pray on these days every month Asfandarmad, Ava, Din, Ashishvangh, Marespand.
Atash Niyaesh - if not possible daily, pray on these days Hormuz, Ardibehest, Ader, Sarosh, Behram roj.
From the first month of Farvardin to the month of Meher, the first roj Hormuz to the last roj Aneran of these months, pray the Rapithavan Geh in its time slot. But from the Month Ava to the Vahistohist Gatha day, ie. 5 months 5 days, pray the Havan Geh instead.
Also note that Khorshed and Meher Nyaishes are to be recited during the Havan, Rapithven and Uziren Geh only, Vispa Humata during Havan Geh only, Mah Bokhtar Niyaesh during Aiwisuthrem Geh, and during any Geh of the day. Nemaz-i-chehar-disa during Havan, Rapithven and Ujiren. Ardvisur Niyaesh during Havan, Rapithven and Ujiren. Sarosh Yasht Hadokht during Havan, Ujiren and Ushahin. Sarosh Yasht Vadi during Aiwisuthrem Geh only. Patet Pashamani and Stom Karta during any Geh.

Dear Members
Tomorrow is the occasion of Id-e-Milad & it would be appropriate if we can discuss the startling similarities between practices of Islam and Zoroastrianism. These parallels go beyond the normal ones of both being monotheistic faiths which have been revealed to mankind by charismatic leaders.I will endeavour to enumerate a few here
- Requirements of prayers Islam enjoins its followers to pray 5 times a day and is called by the Muezzin to his prayers. These prayers are at a) Dawn b) Noon c) Afternoon d) Sunset e) NIght.
Zoroastrianism also enjoins prayers 5 times a day and are called "Geh".The devotee is summoned by the ringing of a bell in the AtashBehram / Agiary. These prayers are also at the same time as in Islam and their respective names are
Time Islamic Zoraastrianism
Dawn Faraj Havaan
Noon Zohar Rapithwan
Afternoon Assar Uziren
Evening Mazreem Aiwisuthrem
Nightime Ishaan Ushaen.-
Pre-requisites of prayer On entering the mosque and prior to commencing prayers a Muslim has to cover his head and wash his face and limbs.Similarly a Zoroastrian one entering the Agiary will cover his head, wash his face and limbs, perform the Padyaab Kusti before commencing his prayers.
-
The Prayers Prayers in Islam are in Arabic only, though translations/transliterations are available. The liturgy has to be conducted in Arabic only.In Zoroastrianism too, prayers have to be recited in Avesta or in Pazend only.Infact in Aveatan prayers Pazend portions have to be recited in an undertone so as no to break the seamless flow of Avestan Manthravani.
-
Sanctum Sanctorum and its venerationThe holiest spot in a Mosque is the wall facing Mecca and is called the Kiblah. In the Atashbehram/Agiary the room where the Atash Padshah is enthroned is also called the Keblaah.
A Muslim will perform the Sijdaah in front of the Kiblah and so also will the Zoroastrian perform the Sezdaah before his Keblaah. Both involve kneeling down and touching the forehead to the ground. -
A holy month In Islam Ramzan is the holy month in which all Muslims are required to fast in the day and only break their fast after sunset. In Zoroastrianism the month of Bahman has similiar connotations-wherein all are requested to particularly abstain from flesh.Perhaps in the age of the Sassanian dynasty the month of Bahman was observed as Ramzan is now.

Ascent into heaven The hagiography of Islam assures us that Prophet Mohammed ascended to heaven from Jerusalem on the mythical beast Barak. He crossed the 7 spheres, exchanged greetings with the patriarchs and beheld the glory of God.
The Dinkard tells us that at the entreaties of Asho Zarthustra Bahman Ameshaspand transcendentally elevated his consciousness to the realm of heaven wherein Asho Zarthustra looked at the reflugent majesty of God.A similiar journey was attributed to the virtous Ardaviraf who visited hell, purgatory and heaven during his spiritual journey.Of course Ardaviraf couldnot look at God directly.
The above similarities are obvious,a more careful research would reveal more parallels. However even these points are to close to be dismissed as mere coincidences. This means Zoroastrianism has had an enormous impact on Islam, which is not acknowledged.Everyone agrees Islam owes a lot to Judaism and Christianity but I feel that Prophet Muhammad borrowed very heavily from Iran and this can be perhaps attributed to that shadowy figure of Dastur Dinyar ( Salman Farsi). This debt is so impressive that it had to be consistently downgraded and later denied.Afterall if Islam is supposedly directly inspired by God it cannot be seen to be acknowledging any debt to an older faith, specially the faith of a nation which Islam has defeated. This may perhaps explain the ferocity of the persecuton Islam directed at Zoroastrianism-to do away with an embarassing history of its origin.
Chinvat Bridge
CHINVAT BRIDGE According to ancient Persian myth, when a person dies, the soul remains by the body for three days. On the fourth, it travels to Chinvat Bridge (the Bridge of the Separator, also call Al-Sirat), accompanied by gods of protection. The bridge is "finer than a hair and sharper than a sword" and spans a deep chasm teeming with monsters. On the other side of the bridge is the gateway to paradise.
DEMONS guard the foot of the bridge and argue with the gods over the soul's fate. The actions of the dead person, both good and bad, are weighed, and the soul is either allowed to cross or denied access to the bridge. Spirits whose evil outweighs their good fall into the demon-infested pit to face eternal torment. In this abyss of the damned, each soul is tortured by a GHOUL that represents its sins in life. Once fallen into the gulf, no soul can escape the horrors of hell through its own power.
Zoroaster, a sixth-century B.C. religious leader, had warned his followers of this obstacle to heaven but promised to lead his flock safely across. The ancient manuscript Gathas (Songs of Zoroaster) explains that the Bridge of the Separator "becomes narrow for the wicked," whereas the holy can easily pass unharmed. (In Gathas, the fair god Rashnu is named as the judge who helps determine who is worthy of salvation and who must be damned.) All infidels (nonbelievers) fall into hell, which the prophet says has been created especially for the "followers of the lie."
The legends are sketchy but assert that Chinvat Bridge is located somewhere in the far north. It is a place of filth where the damned endure physical tortures and spiritual agony. Souls who are unsuccessful in crossing the Chinvat Bridge suffer these torments until AHRIMAN, the evil god of ZOROASTRIANISM, is destroyed by the good god Orzmahd during the LAST JUDGMENT. As this time, lost spirits are restored to the truth since "the lie" as been eradicated, or they face final ANNIHILATION. (o)

Forgot to mention I still pray traditioimwnally. I dont feel comfortable reevaluating my Salat method yet.But just for interests sake, what do you think the veses of wudhu and salat means to you brother/sister simple?

See 443 and 56.
it refers "to have come from the toilet (al ghaiti)", thus unless you go to pass wind in the toilet, you should be ok ;D
Lol yes I have searched the verses and read various translations although Rashad Khalifa's translation seems to say it includes passing wind too
P.S I am asking cause I have a problem with keeping my wind in )

How would you finish the ayah 443
Remember we have the choice to do right or wrong and advice or persuade others aswell to do likewise and the consequances are according to that of humanity.
004.040
YUSUFALI Allah is never unjust in the least degree If there is any good (done), He doubleth it, and giveth from His own presence a great reward.
004.041
YUSUFALI How then if We brought from each people a witness, and We brought thee as a witness against these people!
004.042
YUSUFALI On that day those who reject Faith and disobey the messenger will wish that the earth Were made one with them But never will they hide a single fact from Allah!
004.043
YUSUFALI O ye who believe! ?????????????(what would be your advice to people, to do, so that they may be able to get on to the right path).........
004.044
YUSUFALI Hast thou not turned Thy vision to those who were given a portion of the Book? they traffic in error, and wish that ye should lose the right path.peace
-
443
YUSUFALI O ye who believe! ?????????????(3918 ....hear advice and follow the best thereof. Such are those whom Allah guideth, and such are men of understanding. ).........The ayah 443 is telling us to cleanse ourselves, seek and give honest advice from those who are capable/knowledgable........(it is not about the physical cleansing-even animals keep cleane according to their rquirements).

Salamun alaikum,
It would be best practice (although not imho commanded) that we should cleanse ourselves prior to salat even after passing wind. Remember that poo particles (i've just invented them) get aerosolised in the 'wind' and thus you will be effectively passing tiny particles of poop - hence the nasty poopy smells.
Peace
d -
Salamun alaikum,
I'm speaking from experience...
Clean your bum, fart and then wipe again - you will have a poopy bum... Trust me, 30 years of research and I might just publish my findings in Viz! The only condition is that you have to have faeces in your bowels to do so. This is one of the conditions of this experiment.
It doesn't happen all the time as the flatus (the proper name for farts) is actually made up of purely gases, but if you are 'pushing' through faeces contained in the bowel, then it is conceivable that you will get ejection of particulate matter which, if in liquid form, will aerosolise if the pushing force applied by the bowel muscles is great enough.
Yes, I'm writing this with a straight face.

Free-minds 56. "O you who believe, if you rise to attend the contact-method, then wash your faces and your hands up to the elbows, and wipe your heads and your feet to the ankles; and if you have had intercourse, then you shall bathe. And if you are ill, or traveling, or you have excreted feces, or you have had sexual contact with the women, and you could not find water, then you shall do "ablution"I.e. WUDU from clean soil; you shall wipe your faces and your hands. God does not want to make any hardship over you, but He wants to cleanse you and to complete His blessings upon you that you may be appreciative."
I believe this to be WUDU. Do you disagree Simple?
All in RED is Wudu Correct?
-
peace
wudu is dangerous to health-if done according to hadith or sunnah, as no soap and hot water or drying of hands is envisaged in the process.
http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=9598011.0The Ayah 56 has been grossly mistranslated to concuct the ritual. Wudu is a basic requirement before doing the zoroastrian pooja of the fire-as shown above, originally brought to light by a Br. Idris.
The Ayah is compelling us to seek advice and give advice honestly within the parameters of Gods covenent, which ever nation adopts or has adopted this norm is and will florish in the world- just look around at the nations which are doing very well.
you can analyse the words in the ayah yourself using lanes or some other dictioanry- its that easy.
about cleanliness- well all humans try to be clean as its a social norm and a requirement.
God doesn't want pooja but does want us to do good and forbid evil in all its forms.
but saying all this if you think you benefit from the wudu rirual then please use soap and hot water and dry your hands after using the privy.
peace

Listen simple Iam sorry man... but ...wow.
IF Surah 56 simply means
compelling us to seek advice and give advice honestly within the parameters of Gods covenent
Then wow.OMG brickwall
So let me get this Straight? According to Quran Aloners
Salat= compelling us to seek advice and give advice honestly within the parameters of Gods covenent (not a Ritual Prayer)
Hajj = compelling us to seek advice and give advice honestly within the parameters of Gods covenent (Not a Pilgrimage)compelling us to seek advice and give advice honestly within the parameters of Gods covenent= compelling us to seek advice and give advice honestly within the parameters of Gods covenent
Quran=compelling us to seek advice and give advice honestly within the parameters of Gods covenent
compelling us to seek advice and give advice honestly within the parameters of Gods covenent
compelling us to seek advice and give advice honestly within the parameters of Gods covenent
Its just the same thing OVER AND OVER.So basically the Quran just Repeats its self over in over however in different ways.
Its all just a Book about Looking/Turning Towards God?why would it continue to say the same thing for everything? why even use the same words... brickwall
P.s. PLEASE SIMPLE.....Give me A PROPER translation of yours for Surah 56.
So let me Get this Straight...
56
All of this Verese Does NOT NOWHERE EVER talk about Cleaning your Body?
I find it hard to believe that like 2billion people on this planet believe this Verese to say WASH YOUR BODY....and yet you dont think it even talks about washing your body...
Please explain how this can possibly be so.
Again I ask you...
Nowhere in this verese does it talk about washing your face/arms/or body?

This is merely discussing any problem within the parameters of Gods law, so the best solution or solutions are found.
Education falls in this category also.Hajj = compelling us to seek advice and give advice honestly within the parameters of Gods covenent (Not a Pilgrimage)
Note the Pilgrimage was around before the quran, it was part of the hindu system.
Hajj to my knowledge is something like, as the quranic dictionary says, ?desire? and AL-Bait is a system based on justice/fairness/human dignity. Its just the same thing OVER AND OVER.
So basically the Quran just Repeats its self over in over however in different ways.
Its all just a Book about Looking/Turning Towards God?why would it continue to say the same thing for everything? why even use the same words...
No, it has got a methodology for us to be peaceful and to live a brilliant life-that is all.

NO,no,no, but it does say seek advice to remove impediments from those wise and make others do likewise- and be honest in your opinions- that is the cleanliness, and there no mention of physical cleaning we humans are capable and do try and keep clean irrespective who we are, it?s a natural thing.
Believe me.
Brother all the hindus, nearly, believe eating shit and drinking COW urine or piss is good , people have been brainwashed, they do need to break free from such shacklesThis is an old translation; could be improved;
56 ? using The quran, lanes and the quranic dictionary.
O you who believe when you raise up for the salaat then wash your-selves,actions and your earnings till the thing by which you gain benefit/services you provide holds back from doing evil with a firm setting and your people till they do likewise and when you are under an obligation/in sin then purify yourself and if you are morally sick or trying to find out or has come one of you from the vying/ contending with one another or you not been able to have contact with women and not you find essence then look for the learned, ascended, good
And you wipe your-selves,actions and your earnings from it does not want Allah to lay upon you any hardship but He wants to purify you and to complete His favour upon you so that you may give thanks. -
Somebody is Lying then?
who is lying?
I really dont see how millions of Arabic Speakers read the Quran and Translate the words.... "ARM, ANCLES, FACE, WATER,CLEAN DIRT, NECK".
Please explain to he how 10 Translators have used these words and yet you have a totally different Translation?
Is there some kind of joke going on? are the translators lying and just making stuff up. brickwall brickwall brickwall brickwallIF simple is right, how then...can 10 translators POSSIBLY have a totally different translation? Are they lying? Are they using the word Lexicon/Dictionary?
what is going on?EVEN free-minds Translated the words ARM ANCLES FACE WATER and CLEAN DIRT.
I need an explanation on how this is possible. this is the most rediculous thing i have ever seen. what the H*** is wrong with the Arabic Language?
even Google Translator uses this...So is Google Translator a Lier? is this one massive big conspiracy where even GOOGLE TRANSLARTOR and BING are involved? just because they want Muslims to wash like a Zooaster?

what is going on?A sunni will translate according to his in built sunni perspective.
A shia will do like wise according to his shia belief using his shia perspective. An educated person who doesn't belong to either of the two maistream religions will translate according to his perspective as an educationalist.
Ask a hungry pakistani what is two and two - he will say 4 chapati.
EVEN free-minds Translated the words ARM ANCLES FACE WATER and CLEAN DIRT.
Seems to me they still have some cleaning up to do
I need an explanation on how this is possible. this is the most rediculous thing i have ever seen. what the H*** is wrong with the Arabic Language?
Its a good language but its the peoples use of their in built perspective that causes the problem, not to be able to see things from a different perspective.

No but they get their answers from the sunnies and the shias, they don't do research, why should they what have they got to gain, who is going to pay them for there time. Isn't it easier just to get the B_ll S_it which people will buy without having to go to any trouble?
Wouldn't you do the same when you can make millions without the extra effort, so long as people arn't complaining and are buying.
It seems logical! doesn't it?

No...
Sorry Simple, nothing against you.
brickwallI just find it incredibly hard to believe that one can really manipulate vereses/words that far to get that much of a difference.
I want to do the same thing as an example however with english.
Perhaps I'll use the Cat in the Hat book by Dr.Sues and try to see how many different interpretations/translations/manipulations I can find.
I know spanish, so Im going to try and translate it in spanish...perhaps that way then I can see how its done. Its still not making any sense to me.
So this Means Freeminds, Edip Yuksel, Rashad Khalifa, are all manipulating words in the arabic language for verese 5.6?

Salamun alaikum,
Brother simples, just identifying that a common practice exists with the Zoroastrians does not mean that it is wrong.
The requirements for wudhu are physical and are the BASIC requirements. If you do not do those things and you are still unclean - well you then need to take a bath and shouldn't be performing wudhu.
I agree with you, people leave themselves still wet after performing wudhu - and this is an excellent medium for the growth and spreading of harmful microbes - but this is because people take some hadith about not drying yourself afterwards and add extra gargling motions etc - in THEIR eyes they are replacing having a good scrub and clean with a ritual.
Personally, the act of performing wudhu is refreshing and mentally prepares me for praying. In a hot country, no doubt you can just wash yourself and you would dry without the need of a towel - you WOULD feel refreshed too. I don't subscribe to the half-a-lota limit for using water for wudhu that the brelwis have. I will use it freely.
Wudhu is also about taking care of yourself. You use your hands and feet in your daily activities - so you would clean them...
try this yourself, if you work in an office, don't wash your hands all day, then at the end of the day use warm water and soap - you can see the dirt just falling off - it's that you are wholly unclean, just that your hands need a wash...
Also, on a second point, there is no need to interpret the verse in any other way other than using the words given as it is a command...
I hope I didn't ramble on too much.
Oh, and RA786 - great picture - it's burnt onto my retina now - THANKS! D
Peace
