My journey to a free mind
-
I have been reading and visiting this ste for some time now and have decided to register at last, I am based in middle England.
After reading the Quran and comparing faiths I decided to submit to Allah and follow his guidance as per the Quran in 1989. I married in 1990 and noted that my wife's family were and still are staunch Sunnis, which I became embroiled in. After many years of involvement in a number on Sunni sects and organisations I became somewhat bemused by all that I have witnessed and learnt and decided about 10 years ago to step away from hadith based teachings due to much suspicion and its lack of clarity plus inumerous corruptions. I took some time out from work and family life and came to the conclusion that I should only be following Allahs guidance through the Quran. My visits to the Masjid became rare and this truly showed me the lack of love that my local fellow Sunnis had, for I was never visited and called upon by them, to be quite honest I could have passed away and nobody would have noticed. I started to follow the Quran only and found myself in a place I wish I had been at the beginning after I had married, this place is perfect and I now try to aid others in my beliefs.
About 3 years ago I was asked by a well known local Muslim if I was interested in helping with a new Muslim organisation set up by differing Muslims as the local Masjid was a very closed shop and ran by a small gang of tight-knit individuals who had no vision. After much consideration and questioning I agreed and to my surprise I have encountered 1 local Muslim who has the same thoughts as me and follows Quran only, we have developed a wonderful friendship, I have now also met a number of Muslims who are going through similar phases in their lives and we have been guiding them through the Quran, this has opened their minds up and they are quite shocked when they think deeply about their own blinded beliefs they had.
Visiting this website is of great benefit and knowing their is a community of like-minded people out their is good to know.
I am the happiest I have been and although I have cut my story very short I hope it gives you a flavour of my journey. Peace to you all. -

I've found something strange in this forum that only the converted people are the persons who rejected hadiths and claimed that it is full of corruption .
ok let me remind you that hadiths divided to "Sahih" , "Hassan", "Ada'ef" . I'm challenging you about hadiths put a hadith Sahih or Hassan and let me see where this corruption is ?
what a joke .

Nonsense. Most Quranists are from Muslim cultural backgrounds. Most converts these days tend to follow the salafee manhaj.

Welcome, Wadeyisfree! peace

That's my observation as well, and it also becomes obvious when reading here for a while. So I don't really understand how the poster came to that conclusion.

The corruption is in adding the hadith to the religion as binding. It adds to the words of God.
Most on your path have claimed things like 'quran needs Hadith more than Hadith needs quran' and have even written it like that with small 'q' for Quran and capital 'H' for hadith. Most on your path claim that hadith is another secret part of the message that wasnt written. This is adding mans words to Gods and making something new, bida', invented religion and no different to what the Jews and Christians have done in the past and that you are warned about all through Quran, IF you read it and reflect on its verses you will see.
You as an Arabic speaker should notice that God asks 'in what HADITH will you believe after this' because there is NONE.
It doesnt matter if you claim there are sahih and hassan and ada'ef, it doesnt matter that one or many men have spent a lifetime searching through thousands of so called sayings of the prophet to come up with the 1% they claim are sahih, they should have been studying Quran ONLY and not gone off on the path of 'follow the messenger' thinking it means he had another secret message, deal with the one message he had from God, not a claimed secret message that never was, and Quran confirms there never was.

welcome wadeyisfree peace
I also followed a sunni version for a while, all the time thinking "hhhmmm yeah ok, but that doesnt quite 'feel' right" and as an ex Christian I was aware that mans agenda had crept into the religion and totally changed what it should be, I am now adamant i will find truth and shake off the mans agenda parts of Islam. muscle

Bismillaah,
Wadeyisfree, thank you for sharing your story here. Did your wife also came to the same conclusion as you, that the 'quran-alone'-path is the path for you? And as someone else asked, does the masjid you attend know about your approach to our deen?
Nonsense. Most Quranists are from Muslim cultural backgrounds. Most converts these days tend to follow the salafee manhaj.
I have noticed that quranists are from a very different backgrounds, and all have different ways to their understanding. But i do not agree that most reverts tend to follow the salafi manhaj. Maybe they are the ones that you see and hear most, but the reverts are just a diverse group. The salafis are though very active in their dawah, but that doesn't mean the majority is following them or are drawn to them.
Assalaamo alaykom!

When people don't know the subject, they remain silence, but as I see Today we can hear the wisdom from "".

5234Do you deny that hadith is mentioned in these verses?
What do you think 487 and 7185 are saying?
What are the others saying? You prove they are NOT talking about something (spoken/hadith) after this Quran.

You prove they are NOT talking about something (spoken/hadith) after this Quran. They are not talking about Hadith of the prophet as it quoted from Bukhari and Muslim and others . if you think so, I said prove it ? I know what hadith mentioned in the verses and it is not about hadith as you claimed .

Wake up man we are not converters we not Buhariesm very well but we are using our God given barain and following everything blindly.

Exactly!
As a side note, I won't call myself 'Quranist' in a daily speech as I'd like to be referred as a muslim. Simple as that. But I'll use that term here for the sake of convenience.
Anyway, it is absolutely IGNORANT to say that most 'Quranists' are converts. I was raised as a traditional muslim, in a country that holds the most muslim population in the whole world. Out of around 20 'Quranists' that I have personally talked to, only one is a convert.

You said you're following God isn't ? ok let's see how ?
How do you interpret the verses in Quran ?

This thread is not the place for this discussion unless you want this newbie thread to end up moved as the last one did.
Please see my reply here http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=9600420.0 and I await your answers.
