Having grown up in a Christian household which is completely controlled by another kind of hadith called the letters of St. Paul and other dogma which are nowhere to be found in the Bible, it was very easy to see the same thing going on in Islam after having taken shahada.

The entire world is floundering in a raging cesspool of blood & smoke and ...well, it seems plain to me that the people claiming religious authority are not helping much at all but are, in fact, either the source of the strife itself, or are being used as a smokescreen for all manner of lies and scandal behind very basic issues which are being fought over in the name of religion and nationalist patriotism.

All the popularly accepted religious texts were written long after their originators were deceased. Isa's Aramaic quotations have been shuffled down through Greek historians, the same has happened to Arabic through English and English speaking converts.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that God is still God ...or simply an aspect of God, no matter what name we give it. Truth is not exclusive to any sect or class.... is not dependent upon humans to exist. We must balance everything by its weight, regardless of what this says or that says.

I don't know anything about lone, self-styled, vigilante prophets... I just know the difference between enlightenment and a headspin.

There are many wonderful hadiths but they do not replace the Quran for me and never will.
    Peace.

I can totally relate to that!

        Peace to you,

I'd have to say that no matter how positive the message of a "hadith" sounds, it can't be considered intrinsically wonderful because its very nature is blasphemous. The prophet had nothing to deliver except the great reading, so any other teachings attributed to him - no matter how decorated they are - go against this principle.

619 Say, "Which is the greatest testimony?" Say, "The god testifies between me and you; he inspired to me this reading to warn you and whomever it reaches with it."

6112 As such, we made for every prophet enemies; rebellious humans and fantasies that inspire to one another decorated utterances to deceive.

        Peace and all best wishes,

        -David

          I understand your beef, David.

However.... I have noticed that peace is usually negotiated in the middle of the battlefield, on common ground.
          Not from behind the ramparts.

So .....I try to steer clear of them -- ramparts, that is.

                    Hi, hi, all.
                    thank you for the welcome.

                    I'm actually done reflecting.

I reflected, and I realized that, if it turns my head into a squash,
it's probably not from God and not really worth my time.
                    D

I also find books which tell me to shave off the hair which God put there, in the first place, and which hand to wipe my bum with ...bizzare, outright obscene and, generally, what I would call "haram" in the first place.

We've got enough people poking around inside other peoples' tents in the society I am confronted with each day... I surely am not going to stand for it anywhere else.

Alright, enough out of me for now. Cheers.

                      Wasalaam.

                        Salam and welcome shadowpuppet.

By the way, I find it interesting that you choose "shadowpuppet" as your nickname.
