Heaven and hell vs Earth

Imagine existence as a river. The aim is for the river to seamlessly flow for eternity. As we all know from school, any object in motion will continue in that direction until something disturbs it. Until then, it is in equilibrium, it is in peace. In the case of fluids we call the smoothly moving water "in flow" and something that disrupts this flow "turbulence".
So what is existence on Earth? Just a river where the overwhelming majority of the water is in flow; the entire universe we have observed outside, the atmosphere, the plants, the animals, the climates, everything is in a very nice homeostasis/balance save a small proportion of humanity, there is some turbulence at the banks. This river is not completely in flow/peace.
So what then is heaven?
036.055 Verily the Companions of the Garden shall that Day have joy in all that they do;

036.058 The word from a Merciful Lord (for them) is Peace!The answer is self-evident, this river is peaceful. Eternally. Why?
055.60 Is the reward of goodness aught but goodness?
And what is hell?
050.024 (The sentence will be) "Throw, throw into Hell every contumacious Rejecter (of Allah)!-
050.025 Who forbade what was good, transgressed all bounds, cast doubts and suspicions;A turbulent place! The fire doesn't help, and it's inhabitants sure as hell don't!
Are forbidders of good, those who destroy the equilibrium at every chance they get, deserving of eternal peace? So we see why
02147 And We will set up a just balance on the day of resurrection, so no soul shall be dealt with unjustly in the least; and though there be the weight of a grain of mustard seed, (yet) will We bring it, and sufficient are We to take account.

011.107 Abiding therein so long as the heavens and the earth endure, except as your Lord please; surely your Lord is the mighty doer of what He intends.
That term of course refers to the universe. Is hell or the universe eternal?

Old post, but it was on my mind - I agree with your concluded question
It is not eternal but a necessary phase while this universe exists. On the scales of justice, a single lifetime of being a generally terrible person is not equal to ETERNAL damnation. I'm beginning to understand these verses in a reverse cause-and-effect process. At face value, we're often led to conclude that the punishment/reward is delivered after the life of action. But, I feel it is more along the lines of a life of action causes the connection or disconnection. Thus, a person living in a negative state simply does not ever come close to connecting to God, as God is pure positive. Thus, if he/she dies in this negative state, he/she is stuck there until the next phase, ie, the end of the universe.Peace,

God is "no-things", creation is "things"
I think that what is meant by this sentence is that the god is not any THING, because a thing has to have boundaries, shape...
The god IS.
In truth, only the god is ?existing?.The god is the highest potential of energy. To allow ?things? to exist, to allow ?movement?, to allow ?time? to exist, a point lesser in potential has to be created. This point is what we consider as ?Point Zero?, ?the void? or ?no-thingness?. And then, energy from the higher potential can flow to the lowest potential making time, space and thus allowing the transitory existence of some ?things?. This is why it is said that we are created through ?no-thing?.
The void cannot withstand ?existence?; the most impossible task for anyone is to find a ?void? or to make ?emptiness?; thus we understand the omnipotence and omnipresence of the god the living the one who ?IS?.

This is like making a "hole" or a "void" on the surface of a lake which has a very smooth surface with no turbulences. As soon as the stimulis used to make the hole stops, water will flow to fill the hole, and to restore the stable state of the lake, after been in a transitive state during a lapse of time.
