A friend sent me a link to this dictionary about quranic Arabic translated into English. I am reading through it critically. What i can clearly see that there are serious issues with methodology especially that the work was done by orientalists and orientalist institutions. Quran is Arabic, it's words and roots are Arabic and should only be understood as Arabs understood it. In several places the authors adopt the view that the Quran root is borrowed from Hebrew ,Persian or Greek etc. That is a serious claim as Arabic language predates Hebrew for example thousand years or more. The Hebrew language was recently revived by Israel after over 2000 years by imitating Arabic language as both are semetic and share many roots.
Quran clearly stated that it is pure Arabic, clear, obvious Arabic with no deviation.Quran also raised the issue of this allegation of non Arabic source of Quran
I am still looking through the first few entries but definitely this book need critical review and I can not trust the translation to be accurate or reliable.
