6:118-119, 121

At a first glance, it pleases me to see that in our religion we also have a humble ritual before eating (which I always respected Christians for) for giving thanks to the All Mighty, the Ultimate sustainer for the substinence which He has provided for us.
Giving grace that is.
Do not eat from that upon which the name of GOD has not been mentioned, for it is an abomination. The devils inspire their allies to argue with you; if you obey them, you will be idol worshipers.
So eat from what God's name was mentioned on it, if you where with His verses/evidences believing. Why should you not eat from that upon which GOD's name has been
mentioned? He has detailed for you what is prohibited for you, unless
you are forced. Indeed, many people mislead others with their personal
opinions, without knowledge. Your Lord is fully aware of the
transgressors.Do not eat from that upon which the name of GOD has not been mentioned,
for it is an abomination. The devils inspire their allies to argue with
you; if you obey them, you will be idol worshipers.I noticed that the other translations included meat in parenthesis after eat...however when not applying another man's interpretation may we rationalize that God wants us to give thanks for everything we eat, including non meats?
And if I am eating meat which is not halaal certified, may I eat it if I give thanks to Allah before I eat it?
