    Salaam bros n sistas,

Now the hadithists say we shouldn't listen to music as it is 'haraam' and ofcourse tats a load of BS... but recently wen a sunni dude sent me some Utube links to prove his point i was kinda taken aback... not coz of the 'proofs' but by all the research that goes into this sorta thing.... don't these ppl hav anythin else to do?

But frankly speakin, the vids were interesting.. kinda creepy tho (as with any topic abt satan) bt made me think... is there a teeny weeny chance tat some of this stuff is true? hypno everyone loves a good conspiracy theory....so u be the judge...
Ofcourse the kinda hip hop trash tat comes out these days, satan mst hav something to do with inspiration for these artists out there... more fodder for the hadithists! sorry! giveup

ok let's check out the vids... u guys msta already heard the constant rumours tat Rihanna is a Satan worshipper... > well the below video tries to shed light on tat. They've got her hit single 'umbrella' analyzed here.. tempt

      Peace to all,

Thanks Harris, I have researched this too, I do think Jay z is really deep into freemasonry and Illuminatiism, hes pretty open about it in his lyrics, and he is the one whos behind alot of the other hip hop artists that are influenced by him, I doubt that rihanna or beyonce even know what its about but they think its cool or something. But the poin is, ya theyre are alot of evil influences in music and other entertainment industries, in fact i think its a cesspool of sick influences on us all, so we should be very careful as to what we allow our children watch and listen to, but for us adults I think its our responsibility to be aware of these evil influences and to not be affected by them. We should educate ourselves and then listen accordingly. There is evil everywhere but we dont need to hide and run scared from it, we need to expose it, and counter it with doing good, so listen to inspirational or religious music, or political music, or anything with truth and sincerity, dont hide your head in the sand because theres some sickos who are confused out there, I love music, but I wouldnt listen to junk like this.

        Peace be upon you,
        with all due Respect.

My brother and i once reversed Britney's One More Time and when we listened to it i don't know how many times, i heard some harsh, manly voice saying, sleep with me, i'm not that young.

Of course, when we reversed one of Aaliyah's song, she kinda said voyage to Heaven. This was after she died.

It is possible that subliminal suggestions work on some people more then on the others, God knows best. But i think that music has a strong influence on most people, when i listen to Mariah Carey's Obsessed, Eminem, Michael Jackson, Rihanna's Hard, Timbaland's Morning After Dark, Limp Bizkit's Rollin', Evanesence's Everybody's Fool, and many more, i listen because they are fast and it makes me more positive thinking. I feel some sort of a energy that removes depression and despair.

This is just my view, God knows best.
        Peace.

          Salaam Ironsky & Alen,
Thanks for your remarkable views... well it indeed looks like some of these celebrities worship the darkside, jedi if not for anything, jst to b seen as 'in' n 'cool'... pretty sad, its come to this.

Like Ironsky said, the only thing we can do is to protect our kids from such influences coz their immature minds are the easiest targets to such confusing and attractive elements. And Alen even i've listened to some reversed music and they always sounded the same-- like demonized-versions! So i stopped tat

I feel a true believer won't fall into this pit of such illuminati/masonry ideas jst coz he listens to some of this music.. case in point rihanna's umbrella... even if the "La Allah, Elah" chorus means exactly that, how can it make us a disbeliever unless we believe that?

Coz afterall in Islam 'Niyat' (intention) plays a big role in our prayers.. therefore i believe nobody can fool us into worshipping satan without our own will angel

So bottom line is-- hadithists can't stop us from listening to music! Coz they've got nothing to prove yay

          Peace bros!

It's all about how you let it influence you.

I even listen to DMX, he is a hardcore Christian but I find some of his music to be very good, especially his Damien series where he talks about his initial friendship with the devil and then realizing the devil is a liar and murderous and is no good for him. At the end of Damien III he says

            Lord Jesus

come on dog, look who you fuckin'

            please help me

            whassup dog, man you buggin

            Keep the devil

thug life, thought we was tight

            out of my life

            I'll be back, aight? Psych

In my head I just replace the lord Jesus part with Most Merciful.

I think its a very powerful excerpt from that song. Those who beg Allah to protect them from Iblees, he cannot touch them. This is why he flees and says "I'll be back, aight" as soon as DMX says "out of my life." It's like an impenetrable wall is set up between DMX and Iblees as soon as he says that. And we can also see in this excerpt from this song, how desperate Iblees is to prevent him from begging Allah for His help, he is trying to convince him with anything and everything, emotional appeals, saying I thought we were friends etc. etc.

He has no power over those who believe and trust in their Lord. His power is limited to those who choose him as their master, those who choose him as their god.

Then he asked "Tell me, is this the one whom You have honored above me? If You give me respite till the Day of Resurrection, I will certainly uproot all but a few of his descendants."

"As for My servants, you have no power over them." Your Lord suffices as an advocate.

"Except those among Your worshipers who are devoted absolutely to You alone." He said, "This is a law that is inviolable. "You have no power over My servants. You only have power over the strayers who follow you."

              Whoa, pretty interesting. o

I think that music can influence us more than we realize ... and dang it, I like some of Jay-Z's music. I had no idea about the Illuminati stuff.

The issue with the people who think music is 'haraam', is not that they have "proof" like the Youtube videos to back it up. They use the hadiths - like the one where a mountain falls on people or something crazy like that ...

And then there is some music that is obviously not "good" for us - like the explicit sexual lyric-based songs ... I heard one when I was walking into a grocery store the other day - someone was blasting their car stereo and there were people walking into the store with their kids and sort of glaring at this person driving by. (it was the most sexual song I've ever ever heard, obviously not on the radio but on their CD).

                salaam ak85 n aynur,

exactly wat i'm talking abt! its very catchy n fun 2 listen 2, but in the end v know very well its safer for ourselves to stay away from music with "explicit content"... coz such stuff only promotes egoistic thoughts fuelling greed, adultery n violence.. satan really has a winner here tempt

infact i'd say it glorifies all the 7 vices! except maybe gluttony eat (bt tats coz they're all anorexic) D

n ak85, gud footer.. the devil's certainly the terminator.. n he most certainly won't stop until u're dead... >D chillin revelation tat!

                peace!

                  Peace,
                  Respectfully.

I think that if one observes the prayer and reads The Quran on daily basis, God willing,t hen one is safe.
Then again, this is just my view.
                  God knows best.

If you got the discipline, if you try, if you really are striving in God's cause, if you're trying to achieve Paradise, then, not even the most evil lyrics or music can harm you. Glory be to God.

                  Peace.

                    I agree.

I mean there are some songs where I like certain parts, certain verses, certain excerpts from certain verses, but I may disagree with the rest of the song's content. I agree with what you said though.

                    peace

(I know I don't normally say peace in my posts, this is the beginning though)

                      I agree, totally.
When i was younger i use to listen for hours to Bonnie Tyler's Hero. Later when i learned the lyrics, i kinds ditched it. She says right ther ein the beginning"where are all the gods?" That is the only sentence i don't like in the entire song, while the song and the music in it, as such, are acceptable.

Keep up the prayers and read chapter 16 and 17 tonight.
                      Peace.
