Salam from Malaysia

assalamulaikum
hi, i'm new here, been lurking here for a few months though
i've been searching for the truth actively since 2007 and became a follower of GOD only since then
but even before that i've always wonder whether all the sunnah that were thought to us are correct as there are a lot of contradiction and as a female has always felt its not fair for us i.e we cannot pray and fast during our mestruation, and i wonder well, then, women will always get less 'reward' from God?
another thing i always wonder before this was that,in second part of shahadah that we need to recite during our prayers
"I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of God. "
i wonder, does Muhammad recite this during his prayer? A man who is modest as him would not recite his name during prayers let alone ask others to recite it as a mantra
that really led me to really browse through Quran and started to really read and learn from it, and alhamdulillah, what i've found has been good all the way*plus i love animals and was quite angry about the sunnis stands regarding dogs
Anyone from Malaysia here?maybe we can meet up sometimes and build our own community herei'm new and still learning, i hope Allah will guide me to the right path

Peace and welcome dalia.

Welcome, dalia. peace
I was going to message the admins and ask if it possible to change my screen name to Dalia, since this is the nick I've been using for many years on other forums, and it almost feels like my real name by now. Guess this isn't possible now. P
Regarding your questions ... there are people here who don't include Muhammad in their prayer or the shahada, me being one of them. If you take a look around, you'll surely find discussions on this issue. Same goes for the issue of dogs.

3195 Their Lord answered them I do not waste the work of any worker from among you, whether male or female, you are all as each other. For those who emigrated and were driven-out from their homes and were harmed in My cause, and they fought and were killed, I will forgive for them their sins and admit them to estates with rivers flowing beneath them. A recompense from God; and God has the best recompense.
4124 And whoever works good, whether male or female, and is a believer, then these will be admitted to the Paradise, and they will not be wronged in the least.
1697 Whoever does good works, whether male or female, and is a believer, We will give him a good life and We will reward them their dues with the best of what they used to do.
4040 Whoever does a sin, will not be requited except for its equivalent, and whoever does good, whether male or female, and is a believer, then those will be admitted to the Paradise, where they will receive provision without reckoning.
Regarding prophet's name in the testimony - i has the same experience and when i asked a sunni, he had no answers either. Glory be to God.
You can have pets, like dogs, cats, fish, birds, ..... why not? In fact,
1818 And you would think they are awake while they are asleep. And We turn them on the right-side and on the left-side, and their dog has his arms outstretched at the threshold. If you looked upon them you would have run away from them and you would have been filled with terror from them!
Dogs and cats are extremely helpful to humans.
Glory be to God.Peace.

Salam Dalia, D
Always a nice feeling to know another Malaysian following God's path for the Truth. I'm from across the sea - bumi dibawah bayu.
Just be yourself and islam(submit, berserah) to God alone while studying the Book for the Truth. Don't ever be afraid or distracted from the straight path because of what others said. Ultimately, it has always been you, the Truth and God alone.
Semoga Tuhan mengurniakan kekuatan dalam hatimu dan menetapkan kakimu diatas jalan yang benar-benar lurus. pr

Wa Alaikum As salaam Dalia,
I also found the second part of the shahada weird. I always believed the Quran described a system that existed since the dawn of mankind. So it wouldn't make sense for people prior to Muhammad to recite the current "shahada".welcome

I think a very good point is did the Prophet himself add that he is the Messenger of Allah in the shahada?

its very rare to find someone with the name dalia let alone have a nick like that
this is my 3rd time finding someone with name/nick that is the same as mine, happy! yayActually, it is not an uncommon name, and is often used as a nickname.
I chose it about eight years ago when registering in my first forum. I just wanted a simple name that would work pretty much everywhere in the world. I also use it in my company name in real life.
There are various explanations as to its origin, but personally I love the reference to the flower dahlia. It's an amazing plant that comes in countless colors and shapes, very beautiful.

Dalia is a common feminine name in Arabic (Arabic ) and Hebrew (Hebrew ה. The name in Arabic stems from the word for grape vine and in Hebrew from word for branch, especially that of a grapevine or an olive tree.
There are several biblical and Talmudic references. However, confusion arose among Hebrew speakers due to the similarity to the name of the flower Dahlia, named in honor of Anders Dahl, a Swedish botanist, by Spanish naturalist Antonio Jos? de Cavanilles, director of the Real Jard?n Bot?nico de Madrid of 18th century.
That is also popular feminine name in Lithuania, which means destiny or fate, derived from Lithuanian pagan tradition Dalia (mythology)

AK85 and leyna i've been praying without reciting the second part of shahadah also, and i want to have a dog, but i think my dad will have something to say about that, hehheheh, have 4 cats though and loving them
Personally, I believe there is nothing wrong in not saying the second part of the shahada. The Sunni shahada is based on a hadith by Abu Huraira who is reported to have been lying on various occasions. The expression used in the Qur'an by people who chose Islam as their deen is "Aslamtu li rabbil 3aalameen" -- I submit to the Lord of the worlds. (See 2131 and 2744, for example.) To me, this is expression is more meaningful.

Peace Dalia and Welcome! I look forward to seeing your logic in action. You may wish to post in this thread http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=14001.0
lol I can't take credit for it, someone else brought it up actually I can't remember who but yeah
another thing i always wonder before this was that,in second part of shahadah that we need to recite during our prayers

yes very2 true alen, although most of my guy friends treat me equally, but from what i observe, once they get married, the husbands will always expect the wives to do everything for him, most women in malaysia work, so i dont think they can use the excuse that they are tired from work thus no helping out with housework, but it still happens here, sad@tauhid101
salam! hi, from sabah? wahh... i've always wanted to go there! i wanna see all the beaches, and most of all wanna go diving at sipadan, yay
and yes, its so nice to hear peole from malaysia also, we need to change our mindset, the most important thing in my opinion is getting Malaysian to think and ponder, we are too much of a follower.
p/s everyone we have a fatwa regarding anti-hadith people here, it all started with Kassim Ahmad's book - haditha re-evaluation, its againts the law to even own that book@aalmakto
yup, i think it has been at the back of my mind for a long time, just that we were taught to never questions this thing, i think i was blessed with curiosity, even my parents said that i ask too many questions, hopefully i'll be as curious in the future as i am now, insyallah@leyna-
although dahlia is not uncommon, but dalia certainly is in Malaysia, found out that 'dalia' has a arab and hebrew background
yup,i know about the flower also,i've seen the picture but truth be told, if someone were to give me some flowers and said it was dahlias, maybe i will believe it, hehehe laughand yes i agree with you also "aslamtu li rabbil alameen" gives much more meaning and beautiful
@jack-
thank you, i've browse through the link that u provided, good to hear that there's a malaysian community here, although its not active as before, @tauhid, jom activekan thread tu balik!

heheheh;D I haven't been to the beaches for quite a long time, so I don't know what their conditions be like. As for Pulau Sipadan, -[ me shy to say this but as a local, I never set foot on that pulau ;D. The people here always welcome the good neighbors from across the China Sea welcome
To change the mindset of a people, to have them think and ponder about the Book of Truth and God...well that's a beautiful thought, dalia but from experience, each individuals has to make the first move then only God will help and guide them on the straight path, don't you think? ) Be patience and always pray to God for the strength of patience into your heart.

Thanks for the welcome umzy01!
yes, thanks to FM and the internet i've met and know a few of them alreadyTo change the mindset of a people, to have them think and ponder about the Book of Truth and God...well that's a beautiful thought, dalia but from experience, each individuals has to make the first move then only God will help and guide them on the straight path, don't you think? ) Be patience and always pray to God for the strength of patience into your heart.
yes quite true, in the end its really up to them
but for me its quite diferrent, although before this i've always questions the authenticity of hadith, the real turning point was about 3 years agoi was at a bookstore with a friend of mine looking for an English Translation of the Quran
my friend saw me browsing through one of the malay's translation and ask me if i was looking for a quran translation(yes we malaysians love to state the obvious ), told her i was looking for the english translations as some of the Malay translation are translated according to what they learn through the hadith
she told me near her place every friday there'll be a man selling quran translation and she got hers there and its quite cheap, thus she can buy it for me, i agreed
then she ask me why i want to study the quran, i said, well, this is what we are supposed to learn right? the core of islam
she ask if i want to join her quran class?
i was quite excited..to make the story short, even after the first class i have this baaaad feeling, my concious is trying to tell me something is not right
first of all, they ask me not to tell anyone i'm attending their classes, then they keep taking the translation out of context and sometimes even changing some words, that really doesnt sit well with me although they do raise some good pointsi attended for like 4 classes which btw changes venue for every class and i was taught by different people each time! shady huh?i search their group on the internet, i think they are called 'gerakan al-kahfi' found a fatwa against them, but then there's a fatwa for anti-hadith also, so that really doesnt say much ;D, but my concious keep telling me no, so i said to myself, enough is enough!
back to my point, well this was what really drives me to learn more, i began to make my own research as i dont agree with some if their points thus leading me to where i am now, alhamdulillah
so my point is that somtimes its good to give people a little push and inject some logic and sense in them but in the end like what you said, its really up tp them the make the first stepmay allah lead us all to the right path
And say "My Lord, admit me an entrance of truth and let me exit an exit of truth, and grant me from Yourself a support to victory."1780 pr

Peace dalia,
I Google up the group.. waaduh, you are blessed and protected. The one I read was in Seremban 1998 and another involving one of the universities here. Supposedly banned in the country and then 3 years ago they are still active, in Johor? It?s no surprise then if our country goes down the drain when this become a fatwa too. Sorry MU fans in Bolehland, I?m a Gunner. ;D

http//thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2010/7/19/nation/6689974&sec=nationWell, anti-hadith is just a human label, a way to create divisions among humans, just be yourself and be on God side, the more Truth you understand, the nearer you are beside God. Be on the side of those who received His Grace, not those who received His wrath and not those who are astray. At the end, these are the only divisions according to our God the Most Merciful.
Towards the right path and the Truth.

Salam Dalia,,,
eh! I'm the last one to get to know to you, is it?
Nice meeting you!
Regarding having a pet dog,,,,that has been one of my wishes since childhood. Mom wouldn't let any pet. So, understanding her situation we abstain ourselves giveup. Hopefully my husband-to-be would love dogs and let me have one.
I remembered my secondary school tragedy. Pantang any dog enters mistakenly into the school compound, after few hours you'll hear the dog being shot. Very pity.
Anyway, welcome and thank you for coming to my house. Hope my dad didn't bored you. Insya Allah we'll meet again.
Regards
Haseena
