we're all born by the will of Allah... what that got to do with anything...
hmmmmm... in a way i can answer it positively and negatively...
    1
they are not submitting to the will of Allah yet... just being born doesn't qualify... they didn't DO anything worthy of heaven...
they do have enough time, but that's another story (reincarnation)... also i'm sure it mentions (can't remember exact verse right now) that we do have enough time, on the day of judgment we will be told this...

    • not having enough time shouldn't be an excuse anyway...

    2
these souls that come here only for a few days, months, years... are advanced souls anyway who technically are in "heaven" already, and come here to die young to test other people (parents)...

    are you done nitpicking?
must every little detail of every single action be written in the quran... it's not...
however it is mentioned countless times the process of resurrection (which is really a process of reincarnation), we'll be brought back life we were the first time (you know - this time)...
and no it doesn't have to enter a new born baby being born right this minute somewhere else... time doesn't really exist on the other side...

but i'm not saying we'll live on earth eternally, just to an appointed time, which is not death...
everything in the universe vibrates, so do we, we each have our own frequency really, like radio... one proof of this is dreams, when we fall asleep we shift to another frequency... we exist on many levels (we know of 2 so far)...
but when we "die" we shift to another frequency, now based on OUR ACTIONS we will shift either on higher (heaven) or lower (hell) ones... and the higher we go eventually we'll stop existing on this world altogether...
heaven and hell are states of mind that we experience on different levels of existence, in different environments, one of them is earth... another is dream world...

now the thing is that our frequency is determined by our actions...
and if there are no good actions, how can a soul deserve to shift higher level then?

    Salaam Nerspi,
Lovely post... I like the way you think

Now regarding what happens to kids who die, I'd certainly agree with the Point 2.
Those who die before they reached maturity, who could not identify good from evil,
those who died before they had enough time to correct their wrongs and repent,
those who lived as mentally-challenged beings are all souls that have already reached a superior level of existence.

But you must remember that this includes the animals, plants, insects, stars and every other "creature" that exists. They are simply serving their portion of the SIN that brought us all here. Wondering what that SIN is? No, not the biblical apple. It was believing that Satan could be a better Lord than GOD Almighty (3869). The only difference between us and these other creatures is that WE preferred to see a demonstration while they accepted their mistake and repented. So here WE are, enjoying the fruits of Satan's kingdom brickwall

    Peace.

      Salam alaykum,

What is the age of responsibility? If a child dies at the age of 12, without even hearing about God, does this child go to Heaven or Hell? What if the child is 15 years old, or 21, or 25? At what age will the human being be held responsible for his or her beliefs?
This question has puzzled researchers of all religions for a long time.

The Quran sets the age of responsibility at 40; anyone who dies before this age goes to Heaven (4615). If the person believed in God and benefitted from belief by nourishing and developing the soul (see Appendix 15), he or she goes to the High Heaven. Otherwise, the person goes to the Lower Heaven.

Your first reaction to this piece of information is objection "What if the person was really bad, evil, and an atheist, will he go to Heaven if he died before the age of 40?" This is because you are mean, while God is the Most Merciful. Our tendency is to "put them all in Hell." People who objected strongly to this Divine mercy cannot come up with a cut-off age of responsibility. They ask questions like, "What if the person was really wicked?" The answer is, "Does God know that this person was wicked?" "Yes."
"Does God know that this person does not deserve to go to Heaven?" "Yes."
"Therefore, this person will not die before the age of 40." As simple as that.
God is the only one who terminates our lives on this earth. He knows exactly who deserves to go Heaven and who deserves to go to Hell.

Early in 1989 a man by the name of Theodore Robert Bundy was executed for killing a number of women. The whole nation agreed that he was one of the most vicious criminals in history. So much so that his execution was one of the rare occasions where the opponents of capital punishment did not protest. On the contrary, many people actually celebrated his execution. Numerous journalists, editorials, and politicians lamented the fact that justice took eleven years to execute Ted Bundy. They stated that Bundy should have been executed within a maximum of six years after his conviction.
According to the Quran, this would have been the greatest favor anyone could have done to Bundy. He was 42 years old when executed. Had he been executed five years earlier, at the age of 37, he would have gone straight to Heaven, and he did not deserve that.

As it turns out, Bundy was one of the signs God has given us to confirm that anyone who dies before 40 goes to Heaven. Bundy's name, Theodore Robert Bundy, consists of 19 letters, and he confessed to killing 19 women just one day before his execution.
There were many other signs from God.

Delivering this important piece of information is one of the responsibilities given to me as God's Messenger of the Covenant. It is not my personal opinion. It is noteworthy that both Martin Luther King and Malcolm X were assassinated just a couple of months before their 40th birthdays.

      Editorial Note (1)

God reminds us in the Quran that He gave those who are punished in Hell, a life long chance before committing them to Hell. What is a life long chance, 12, 15, 20 .....years ??!!!

They will scream therein, "Our Lord, if you get us out of here, we will work righteousness, instead of the works we used to do." Did we not give you a life-long chance, with continuous reminders for those who would take heed? Did you not receive the warner? Therefore, taste (the consequences). The transgressors will have no one to help them.

      Editorial Note (2)

The Quran mentions that a human being reaches full maturity at age forty (Quran 4615). This is a very unusual statement. Even today most people accept that full maturity is reached at puberty and laws usually put it between 18 to 21. However, the Quran is scientifically correct where even modern laws are inaccurate. If we analyze the statement based on psychological tests conducted by scientisits, what we find is that the "overall quantity of stored knowledge in the mind of an individual reaches a peak at age thirty-nine and after that it gradually declines." Arthur C. Guyton, in his standard textbook on physiology, Physiology of the Human Body( 6th ed, pg.207), states this. Guyton's book is used as a standard text in at many pre-medical schools around the world.

      Glory be to God!

      Omar

      Editorial Note (3)

      • And from Emon;

Nothing is a coincidence , Sura 40 of the Quran is named Forgiver (Ghafer). The hint is very clear to the believers.

      Editorial Note (4)

      • Age of responsibility is stated in the Quran as the age of 40 in verse 4615.

      4615+40=4655 4655=19X245

      • In verse 4615 the word forty (40) is the 19th word in the verse, an indication that the discovery of its significance will be unveiled by the messenger of the covenant who was destined to unveil the mathemtical miracle of the Quran based on number 19.

      • And from Mehmet K. K. from Istanbul, Turkey

      4615+40=4655 4655=19245 and 24*5=40!!!!!

      • And from Lydia;

I enjoyed this observation. And I would add a note.

      4615+40=4655 and 4655=19 X 245. Taking the 245...

You shall seek help through steadfastness and the Contact Prayers (Salat). This is difficult indeed, but not so for the reverent,

And If they repent afterwards and reform, then GOD is Forgiver, Merciful.

It is known historically that prophet Muhamed was officially sent as a prophet and a messenger of God at the age of 40.

Moses was mentioned in the Bible to reach maturity at the age of 40.

      Salaamun 'Alaikum

I have discovered an astonishing connection between the Bible and the
Quran. I was reading verse 2814 where it says in the Holy Quran that
when Moses reached the age of maturity, Moses was given wisdom and
knowledge due to his righteousness. The next verse talks about when
Moses killed the Egyptian man. Knowing that the age of maturity is 40 in the
Quran, I was curious to find what the Bible would say about Moses' age
during this occurrence. I went on the internet and found a web page at
      http//oeonline.com/~patti/part2.html
that gave me the answer I was looking for.

      ----------------1486 BC-------------------------

Moses, at the age of 40, has it in his heart to visit his people, the
Hebrews. When he saw an Egyptian beating one of his brethren, he
avenged him by killing the Egyptian and buried his body in the sand.
Moses then fled from the presence of Pharaoh into the desert of Midian
because Pharaoh sought to kill him.The Bible also says that Moses
was grown up during this occurrence.

One day, when Moses had grown up, he went out to his people
and looked on their burdens; and he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew,
      one of his people.

HE WAS GROWN UP SO HE HAD REACHED MATURITY. LOOK
AT WHAT IS WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF ACTS!!!!!!!!

"When he was forty years old, it came into his heart to
visit his brethren, the sons of Israel.

And seeing one of them being wronged, he defended the
oppressed man and avenged him by striking the Egyptian.

ah there's no such thing as 'age 40' thing...
maturity varies from person to person...

bundy and a few others are just a few examples that don't mean anything...
what about hundreds of kids that die as result of gang fights, or other accidents (12-18 years old for example)...

lets not even consider age, lets say age doesn't really exist...
it's all to do with levels that souls reach in certain period of time...
killing and other wrongdoings produce negative energy that affects the soul, no matter if they do it till they're 40 years in this physical world, if they do all possible wrong things by age 40 and die a few weeks, months before... you think they'll go to heaven?
is that the criteria? age? i thought it was ACTIONS...

you don't think God allows bad people to die before 40? p-lease...
my argument would be, if you're younger then 40, then why don't you just kill yourself now... don't matter what you do, right, you're less then 40...

        very good blog )

hmm, i wonder where this SIN originated... how did it come to it... why did it come to it...
i think it was supposed to happen, we were meant to come here, i don't get atheists who claim this world/life is pointless and it all ends with the last breath... how can anyone say such a thing after looking at this world... i clearly see a meaning...
the whole thing looks like school, there's tests, obstacles... eventually you graduate and move on to college or out to the real world, or repeat the class... D

hmm, yes i remember that... it's all energy in different forms, if you look at the whole world from afar, and see all creatures, we human beings are just another kind, and there energy that entered these bodies... who's to say that after "death" it can't enter into different things, animals, plants...
hmm, stars? planets too? that'd interesting, i never considered that, could it be that maybe some advanced souls are incarnating planets... maybe somebody who was on earth before is now in mercury )

but children who die... hmm, another possibility would be that, people who lived here long in one life and need to come back again doe to bad actions, and in next life die young, they'd come back again till they reached a proper level and advance forward to heaven...
there's many possibilities, it's different from case to case...

I believe there are posts about quran and reincarnation and from reading those posts my stance so far is that the quran does not support the notion of reincarnation.

One earthly life/one chance is what we get. The dilemma of babies dying/mentally ill people is something that I'm still trying to work out but I guess patience and study of the quran would be the right direction to take.

              Peace,
              Respect.

I also have never heard of reincarnation from The Quran.
However, I think/believe - God knows best, Thank God - that in some cases, people around those babies and kids who die prematurely, are responsible for their premature death, God knows best.

Look at it like this if parents are on crack and they drink alcohol, smoke and live on the streets, then what chances does this baby have to even come out of such a mother alive????? & She will get pregnant, due to their fornication, deliver and maybe even die, God forbid and maybe the child will die, God forbid but that's because - just my view - she was smoking, drinking booze, doing drugs and living on the edge.

And then if we add to all that junk food, stress, depression, this, that, third and I don't know what else, well, it is a miracle that a baby would be alive and healthy and survive, let alone become a righteous person. Would such a baby grow into a bad person due to bad DNA start? God knows best and may God help us all.

              Peace.

interesting how people see different things from the same reading...
just like some see physical ritual salat, others don't...

1 life? 1 chance? ( that don't sound much fair...
besides, there's other things written about reincarnation, should we not believe it just because it's not mentioned in quran?
should we disregard it as say 'ah people just write that bs to sell more books' ... which is not a good excuse anyway, same can be said for doctors for example...

ok i'm 24, what if i die today... and i did some bad things so far, but hey, maybe i would have done some good things later in life, i could have become better... i wasn't given more time as that other guy who lived to be over 100... great, now i gotta go to hell, blast...

                Peace,

well we do become products of our environment, but why should kids that die young be judged the same as someone who lived longer... ok lets say there's no reincarnation and there really is only 1 life on earth here...
first of all, what's the point of someone living only a few years here....
and second, how are they judged? compared to someone who's been good all their life, 60,70 years... are they equal?

                      Peace,

This is indeed an interesting topic, that I thought about sometimes ago.

My understanding is that we cannot enter paradise without being tested

                      Quran 3142
Or did you think that you would enter Paradise without God knowing those who would strive amongst you and knowing those who are patient?

It is clear from this verse that a child from our point of view has not done enough to earn paradise!
The problem with this verse is that God already knows who are striving and those who are patient, and I believe that this is about the spirit that is in us ( Rouh in arabic) rather than the human body.

Let us put things clearly, the spirit that was breath into us humans, comes from God and it's eternal, as God is eternal, has no beginning and no end, and so is our spirit.

                      Quran
So when I perfect him, and blow of My spirit in him, you shall submit to him."

Now saying this, simply means that we've always existed as spiritual entities and we continue as such eternally.
Spirit doesn't die , no beginning and no end.

I'm not a believer of reincarnation, but the issue of children raise a specific question.
when we look at the following verse.

                      Quran
And know that your money and your children are a test, and that God Has the greatest reward.

This tells us simply that children are part of a test.

First children who die as such are not tested but are themselves a test for their parents.
When a child die ( spiritually alive) God might decide to send him back as a new born to the same couple of any other.

                      As a conclusion
we only enter Heaven or hell once we've been tested ( Spiritually speaking)

                      Best regards
