throughout history there was always a ruling elite enslaving people, stealing resources, starting wars, anything to stay in power...
even nowdays they poison our food, water, medicine, they corrupt the educational system, they make laws that allows them to get away with murder and theft, they carelessly kill people, they want control of the world and keep it in private hands... it's been like that for thousands of years...
and anyone who comes to do good, they kill them...

so how can we have peace?
how can we remove these tyrants, oppressors, and establish peace in the world, free the world?

    The action plan

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said

?Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or he is oppressed.? The Prophet was asked ?It is right to help him if he is oppressed, but how should we help him if he is an oppressor?? He replied ?By preventing him from oppressing others.?

    {Sahih Bukhari, Volume 3, Hadith 624}

      Here is my understanding

Christian view Good world corrupted by sin. God allows the world to persist so those that wish salvation can have it. Only source of peace available is from God and his promise.

Muslim view Good (perfect?) world created by Allah. We are tested by Allah and have to do good and trust Allah.

Is there an expectation of peace now in either religion?

Humans aren't perfect so what kind of peace are you after? you gotta be realistic here.

People dispute on minute things.. there are lots of binaries in the world. if you mean no wars, no tyranny etc, it's unlikely.

you could possibly have peace within yourself by leading by example, by doing what you can... not everyone dies or is killed because of goodness.

most people are comfortable where they are, most people have nothing (serious) to worry about. why change/do things if it's not effecting them? maybe more people will do when it affects them

has the world ever been in peace?

Remember you can't control the world but you can control yourself and change yourself

        Peace

          Peace,

I know it can be frustrating nerspi, but we should just follow the Qurans advice, and it says we should counter evil with doing good, pretty simple, we just have to do good deeds , words, thoughts, and it will counter and defeat the evil in the world, God willing.

well sure, but it can be hard, ok on a personal level it can be easy to some point,
but people in power do stand in the way...
i am talking more about on a bigger level, for example making energy from the sun or wind (which is free) and giving it to the world for free but they say it's bad for the economy and we can't do it... have you seen 'who killed the electric car'...

and engineered, then deployed unnatural viruses to perform genocide. Makes it sound like sci-fi, but evil really isn't fiction.

are we ever meant to remove them entirely? Are we ever meant to 'free the world'? If they're gone completely at one point, what would guarantee that none of us will become their successor next?

Don't you think that without evil, too many verses of AQ --or the scriptures before it-- will become irrelevant?

well yeah, we should free the world, that's why it was sent...
hmm, so for us to follow the quran we shouldn't follow quran, because if we do then there's no point to quran...
ok quran would still be there, as a guide

that is what worries me, no matter how many people came, warned and guided mankind to the right direction it lasted very little and many went back to evil path... it's been like this for thousands of years,
that's why i ask, can we really be optimistic that there will be peace in this world now? or in the future?
it didn't happen so far, but is that the point? for there to be evil in this world no matter what and we have to live with it?

          The action plan

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said

if only we could prevent them from oppressing, somehow there's more of us and yet we cant overthrow them,
how does one prevent politicians from making unjust laws, from starting illegal wars for profit and power...?

          Here is my understanding

i think there is, but looking at history, there doesn't seem much hope, maybe thousand years from now another one will ask 'can we have peace now in 3010?' ...
but maybe we need to try a different way this time...

Humans aren't perfect so what kind of peace are you after? you gotta be realistic here.

well yeah if you want to do something low profile, it's doable i guess, but how long will that last,
if we don't fight those in power we are just sitting ducks, because they are plotting against us every day,
yes i know it sounds paranoid hehe... but it's true...
look at what they invest money in, wars, arms, poisoning us, uneducating us, eventually micro chipping us and before you know it we're living in nazi germany...

so how can we do anything good then?
my point is that we almost can't live a peaceful life and go about our business with them standing in the way, interfering in our lives...

yeah the world has never been at peace (at least not for a long time, always something went wrong eventually)....
so is that it? is that the verdict? no peace ever in this world?

There are too many conflicting variables so no. As humans, we underestimate our capacity to do both good and evil. We refrain from acting because we underestimate our individual ability to make an impact. Because most have a natural inclination to good (or - depending on how you look at it - most of us learn to conform to conventions of good) we have trouble understanding the evil agendas and actions of others. Which leaves the vast majority of us in limbo; not willing to change our own situation because we're generally unaware of either the gravity of the situation or our own abilities to do something.

Truth is, nothing will get done if you wait for everyone else to wake up. You do your part and do what you think is realistically possible to improve your own life and the lives of those you are capable of doing something for. I guess it's better to do what you can do than to worry about what you can't (and remember that you can't do everything). Worrying is a waste of time; time that could be better spent doing something (no matter how little impact you think it will have).

              Respect.

I agree. I'm gonna make sure I do plenty of good deeds and that I always rely on God and ask only Him for help, God willing, akoBogda, inshaAllah.
brother nerspi, you might wanna do the same. Make sure you do plenty of good deeds and brother IronSky, also, make sure you do plenty of good deeds.

Follow Qur'an, do good deeds, open a door for a person, smile to people, help an old person get on the bus or off of it, pray every day, read The Qur'an, fast as much as you can, remind your family, relatives, friends and neighbours to pray and seek God,

remember God and obey the small distractions in this life, avoid, bad language, pork, alcohol, gambling, fornication, stealing, lying, killing, anger, depression, ....

Think about who you are, about your goal, where you are and wher eyou wanna be, take one day at the time, one step at the time, slice the day in small tasks, God willing, think positive and keep up the prayer because it truly keeps you safe.

Brothers, sisters, read this every day, please

              Chapter 113
In the name of God, the Almighty, the Merciful.
1131 Say I seek refuge with the Lord of the dawn,
1132 From the evil among His creation,
1133 And from the evil of darkness as it falls,
1134 And from the evil of those who blow on knots,
1135 And from the evil of an envier when he envies.

              Chapter 114
In the name of God, the Almighty, the Merciful.
1141 Say I seek refuge with the Lord of the people,
1142 The King of the people,
1143 The god of the people,
1144 From the evil of the sneaking whisperer,
1145 Who whispers into the chests of the people.
1146 From the Jinn and the people.

These two chapters speak volumes, alone.
              God bless you,
              Glory be to God.
              Peace.

If you think about it, the ruling elite are actually few in number relative to the global population. Their only means of control is by the restriction of information to the masses and creating the illusion that the big man is out to get you should you step out of line. It would take a collective effort from all six or seven billion of us human beings to establish peace.

Who enforces those laws that generally cause harm but the mass population in the first place? The battle is won in the minds of people, this is where the big game actually takes place (where else could it!). If there was a cascade of events where the right truths (catering to the condition of us all) were disseminated to the general public, peace would easily be established.

The quran is this set of truths, in my opinion.

The big problem is that humans are human! They will always have their opinion (which is always right and everyone else is wrong), they will always have politics, they will always have religion, they will always have feelings. Do away with all of those and you might, just might get peace, but then we would all be zombies!

yes we can. (er, do i sound like someone?)

For starter, you know, there's an interesting subject Social Entrepreneurship, if maybe you want to look into it (i'm going to get this book myself--here's the author's blog faq page, you may find some inspiration there).

There are a number of people with hearts, vision and, luckily, abundant fortune/resource as well, who are seeking into somewhere other than empty worldly objectives. If there are "people in power" who stand in the way, then there's no other way for the better people to have more power than they do. Of a different kind, mind you. I think the lesson of "all the best names belong to Allah" is that whatever quality we've seen manifested in this world, there is always the higher quality for us to seek.

well yeah, we should free the world, that's why it was sent...

                    (

maybe it's worth to ask the question again, are we ever meant to free the world? save the whole world? save all the people until there is only "good" people and no "bad" ones at all? is this the impression you get from AQ?

Perfect peace, that sounds like the perfect heaven to me, sure, a perfect world where i can exercise my endless fantasies, infinite days to play out/pursue even my oddest interests, meet whomever i want to meet, and just have fun with the people--especially because everyone is supposed to be happy over there. But on this earth? While everyone of us will surely be tested? See, the problem, or rather, the pattern, is that there will always be people who choose hell over heaven, suffering (of themselves or of others) over peace, consciously or unconsciously. God knows maybe they even endure great sufferings in order to pursue some kind of conceptual Perfect Peace/Heaven in mind (their own brand of course).

Don't take it wrong, i'm not trying to picture a gloomy, endless, pointless future... i have enough pain myself already living in those frames in the past. Instead, we can take it as challenge, how cheesy it may sound. Maybe consider evil as necessary part for the kind/good people's growth (though irritating as hell)? Maybe evil is just there, provided for the kind/good people (or wannabe), with the sole purpose of "to be defeated"? Now what about people who choose to "try to get comfortable" with it? Are they yours to control? To be more exact, are their choices yours to control?

if there is out of reach, we still have can here really be peace?

God knows our "here" now may reach "there" someday. or not. still it's the only place to start.

as a side note, looking at your avatar, the black one stands out from the white one, because the background is white. and if you focus on the black for too long, all the whites may go obscure to your eyes ...

look at what they invest money in, wars, arms, poisoning us, uneducating us, eventually micro chipping us

do you really think we're going to let all those fancy stuff happen? ;D

i agree though on your note that it can't be fought with something "low-profile", especially if what you mean by that is "individualistic" and or "separated", something that is small-scale and not growing much.

                      With all due Respect.

                      I agree, brother.
The way I see it, total and complete peace will be only in Paradise.
I mean, we have signed so many peace treaties and there were so many debates and discussions about decreasing weapons and soldiers, here and there and so many photos were taken but still, we are not seeing or hearing anything remotly close to peace.

These days, peace is a word.
                      That's all.
Real Peace is only in Heaven, so, my view is this keep up the prayers, fast as much as humanly possible, trust me you will definetely feel the results, read The Qur'an but try, if you can and got time, read The Qur'an during night, I mean, real night time and into morning, before fajr salah. Believe me, this helps.

I have been fasting and reading Qur'an from isha to fajr salah and I can assure you I feel The Real and True Peace in its fullest meaning. hail hail hail hail hail hail
                      God knows best.
                      Peace be upon you.
