No Mosque, Go to church?
-
I live in an area where there isn't a Mosque, and even if there was I don't know if I would be welcomed if I only followed the Quran and don't speak arabic. I feel the need to be around others who worship god and am considering attending a church. I don't plan to hide my faith while there, but am curious as to your opinions. I don't plan to take part in communion since it seems as idol worship. Brothers and sisters, please give me your opinions, both good and bad. Thank you.

I would think a Universalist church would be better than a Christian church, IMO.

Peace,
Awesome Buck, same thing i do, there are no mosques within 5 hours of me, so sometimes i still goto the catholic church i went to my entire life, but i dont do communion, and they all look at me funny like why not, you used to do it, but oddly, the priest is the only one who understands, since he came over when he heard i was a muslim and tried to reconvert me, i actually saw the look of shock in his eyes when i debated him on islam versus crhistianity, he was impressed he said of my knowledge of religion, yet i feel im pretty dumb about it, still, i feel its ok for you to seek out the comfort of others, especially in religion since its a dieing faith.

It is such a shame you do not live me, you would be more than welcome at my church

I personally never felt comfortable in any church after leaving Mormonism. I would suggest that if you find one that accepts you, and you feel welcome in it, go for it.

+1 for Rev.John's church. (Actually i was going to reply yesterday before the Rev himself chime in.)
Alternatives, maybe, an orphanage, a humanist/activist's center with similar view to yours or any place one can best help himself by helping people? I too am looking into this matter personally and these are some of my options. To me, the ideal masjid is yet to be found, so i think i better go in the direction where actual Salat is being performed, or at least approached in a more productive form.

Peace,
respect. You can always pray and you can pray at any given location on the planet, since the whole planet is a praying place. Pray where ever you are, walking, sitting, glorify God and seek His guidance.
I pray in my room, in the park, walking, on the bus, I tlak to God regardless of the place.
I don't go to churches nor the mosques. Since there aren't any true, Islamic, Qur'anic mosques.Keep up the best balanced prayer and read The Qur'an.
God bless you,
Glory be to God.
Peace.
