If you are stressed, what verses of the koran would you read to help you calm down?
Whenever I am sad or depressed, I usually just sit down, close my eyes and remember surah 93 and 94. They go like this
By the morning hours. And by the night when it is stillest. Thy Lord hath not forsaken thee nor doth He hate thee. And verily the latter portion will be better for thee than the former. And verily thy Lord will give unto thee so that thou wilt be content. Did He not find thee an orphan and protect (thee)? Did He not find thee wandering and direct (thee)? Did He not find thee destitute and enrich (thee)? Therefor the orphan oppress not. Therefor the beggar drive not away.Therefor of the bounty of thy Lord be thy discourse. (931-11)
Have We not caused thy bosom to dilate. And eased thee of the burden. Which weighed down thy back. And exalted thy fame? But lo! with hardship goeth ease
Lo! with hardship goeth ease. So when thou art relieved, still toil. And strive to please thy Lord.Also verses 1597-99
Well know We that thy bosom is times oppressed by what they say. But hymn the praise of thy Lord, and be of those who make prostration (unto Him). And serve thy Lord till the Inevitable cometh unto thee.
And this one too
We verily created man and We know what his soul whispereth to him, and We are nearer to him than his jugular vein. (5016)

2286 God does not burden a soul except with what it can bear. For it is what it earns, and against it is what it earns. Our Lord, do not mind us if we forget or make mistakes; our Lord, do not place a burden upon us as You have placed upon those before us; our Lord, do not place upon us what we cannot bear; pardon us, and forgive us, and have mercy on us; You are our patron, so grant us victory over the disbelieving people.
245 And seek help through patience and through the contact prayer. It is a difficult thing, but not so for the humble.
2153 O you who believe, seek help through patience and through the contact prayer, God is with the patient ones.
16127 And be patient, for your patience is on none except God. And do not grieve for them, and do not be depressed by what they scheme.
23111 I have rewarded them today for their patience, they are indeed the winners.
Of course, I don't always just look for these specific verses but when I do read them, they remove my depresion 100%, they help me see The Reality, Thank God, I forget the world which is a lie and a conspiracy against Good.
I prefer to just read The Qur'an for hours sometimes and that alone helps me, Thank God, to see The Reality; that this world has no value whatsoever and that Paradise is The Real Life and The World I wanna exist in, Glory be to God, The Most Merciful, The Most Wise for guiding me.Keep up the prayers, stay patient and read The Qur'an, especially at night.

Lately this part keeps me mega-calm and keeps me on the Path and I ponder on my priorities more an dmore2876 Qaroon was from among the people of Moses, but he betrayed them. And We gave him such treasures that the keys thereof were almost too heavy for the strongest person. His people said to him Do not glee, for God does not love the gleeful.
2877 And seek with the provisions bestowed upon you by God the abode of the Hereafter, and do not forget your share in this world, and do good as God has done good to you. And do not seek corruption in the land. God does not love the corrupters.
2878 He said I have attained all this only because of my own knowledge. Did he not realize that God had annihilated before him generations that were much stronger than he, and greater in riches? The transgressors were not asked about their crimes.
2879 Then he came out among his people draped in his ornaments. Those who preferred this worldly life said Oh, if only we were given similar to what Qaroon has been given. Indeed, he is very fortunate.
2880 And those who were blessed with knowledge said Woe to you! The reward from God is far better for those who believe and do good work. And none attains it except the steadfast.
2881 We then caused the earth to swallow him and his mansion. He had no group that could protect him against God; nor would he be victorious.
2882 And those who wished they were in his place the day before said Indeed it is God Who provides or restricts for whoever He chooses from among His servants. Had it not been for the grace of God towards us, He could have caused the earth to swallow us as well. We now realize that the rejecters never succeed.
2883 Such will be the abode of the Hereafter; We reserve it for those who do not seek prestige on the earth, nor corruption; and the ending will be for the righteous.
2884 Whoever brings forth a good deed, he will receive a better reward than it. And whoever brings forth a sin then the retribution for their sins will be to the extent of their deeds.
2885 Surely, the One who decreed the Quran to you will summon you to a predetermined appointment. Say My Lord is fully aware of who it is that brings the guidance, and who has gone astray.
2886 Nor did you expect this Book to come your way; but this is a mercy from your Lord. Therefore, you shall not side with the rejecters.
2887 Nor shall you be diverted from the revelations of God after they have come to you. And invite to your Lord. And do not be of the polytheists.
2888 And do not call besides God any god, there is no god except He. Everything will fade away except His face. To Him is the judgment, and to Him you will be returned.This alone gives me strength and I'm Thankful to God that I'm guided.

That is IT for me in terms of a stress buster. Finished my exams in June and hit a wall so many times that I was able to remember it with ease.
But generally, I just do as suggested before I close my eyes and open my Qur'an and I usually find peace through reading.

Peace.I am just curious, what do you find relaxing about this sura? The verses are beautiful, but they are not really related to anxiety. Or do they teach a specific lesson? Sorry, it's probably my ignorance, but I am finding it difficult to understand?

When you are stressed... Just make an ablution... wear some perfume.. and sit down on the mat... then empty your mind... focus on your breathing... or focus on nature like the sea, mountains etc...
I think this would be much better in relieving your stress...
BEFORE doing it.... just sincere ask God to bestow his tranquility and peace unto you...
