      I only said this

      And Qur'aan is ever living.

Do you deny this or you wish I should quote you the Ayat from Qur'aan in support of it?

And do you understand what it really denotes and conveys, or just like, whom many people here refer in ridiculous tone, as "Sunnis" you have uttered this phrase, with whom this phrase is very common.

and his speech and actions were of Quran

Yes he was also given wisdom to judge matters 'by what was revealed to him' from Allah, ie, Quran. 4.105. In the same way we are also obliged to judge justly see 4.58.

          Peace Ayisha,

According to Quran, one might not have the correct understanding even though they were endowed with wisdom and knowledge. Please see verse 2179 below. In this situation we are told that one cannot be a believer if they do not accept Prophet Muhammad?s verdict. This tells me that he was given the proper understanding via revelation or otherwise.

2179 - We granted Solomon the correct understanding, though we endowed both of them with wisdom and knowledge. We committed the mountains to serve David in glorifying (God), as well as the birds. This is what we did.

Yes Muhammed was given the correct understanding but he is no longer alive to judge in our affairs. Muhammeds 'verdicts' on things that we can now use are in Quran not based in some other books.

There were many prophets given the knowledge and understanding but we cannot go to them for their verdicts either as they too are all dead and gone. Quran tells us to base our judgements on what is revealed and that is Quran, granted many do get it wrong but then only God can be the Judge in that, not Muhammed nor Solomon nor david nor anyone else that is dead.

verses that tell us to have Muhammed as judge in our disputes are for the people that were there when he was alive, all we have left is Quran, the message from God that muhammed used to judge by, the mesage that taught Muhammed and mankind HOW to judge and by what rules.

What if someone of present is given the same understanding of Prophet Muhammad? Then what? Are you implying that no one can achieved such understanding anymore?

No of course not, there are many WISE people with knowledge but the thing we do know is that Muhammed and other prophets judged by what was revealed to them from Allah and when they were alive if they made a mistake in things Allah would correct them as we have seen in Quran, they are not infallible. we can take advice from WISE people on anything but WE have only ourselves to blame if WE dont apply that advice BY what we have been given in Quran. Yes we will make mistakes as they also did. but in the same way we wouldnt go to Stephen Hawkins to ask about cookery and Jamie Oliver to ask about space. Would you ask a christian theologist about it being WISE to eat pork? he is wise and has knowledge but you would apply his advice to Quran and find you are not to eat pork, if you did based on the advice of that particular wise man you would not be jduging that advice by what was revealed in Quran as you are told to.

                  Peace, guest,

in relation to the other thread, my answer for this topic question is definitely "NO".

Muhammad, as rasul/messenger, is the person with the best understanding of the system. It is the responsibility of every AQ reader/student "to spread the good news to the believers" (actually iirc the original word "bashar" may also be understood as "best/most wonderful human qualities etc" so i tend to view it as something related with human/character development) and "to give warning to the rejectors (of 'good doings&#039".

And it is only logical that the person who understands the system best and is living by the system most steadfastly should be raised as the leader of the society who is living by the system. The person most-fitting for this role in the era of the revelation is of course the messenger himself.

As for this time... well, yes, someone "who understands the system best and is living by the system most steadfastly" and is living with us at this time, should fill that role. That is for every society who wish to live by the system, i think ...

                    Peace san,

I am in total agreement with your statement. In particular I liked your criteria for the leadership role ?And it is only logical that the person who understands the system best and is living by the system most steadfastly should be raised as the leader of the society who is living by the system?.

Everybody cannot be a leader, not everybody is born with leadership qualities. And when we do have a leader he should be respected and obeyed.

Another deduction that can be made out of verses 320 & 1682 is this Those who hold fast to the concept of Prophet Muhammad?s sole duty was to deliver the Quran and nothing else are in fact condemning themselves as disbeliever. I hope people with such thought will reflect on these verses and reform.

                      Peace Ayisha,

Possession of revelation does not guarantee proper understanding of the revelation. One has to be sincere and strive hard to obtain correct understanding of the revelation. And in this process one (or few) will always out rank others believers. This is evident in the verse 2247 provided below

2247 - Their prophet said to them, "GOD has appointed Taloot (Saul) to be your king." They said, "How can he have kingship over us when we are more worthy of kingship than he; he is not even rich?" He said, "GOD has chosen him over you, and has blessed him with an abundance in knowledge and in body." GOD grants His kingship to whomever He wills. GOD is Bounteous, Omniscient.

From your writing I am gathering that you are of the opinion that everyone has the ability and should act as a leader. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I agree that we are responsible for our action i.e. if we choose to go to a bad person for advice and follow through it then we suffer the consequences. But if we went to righteous person (a believing leader) then he/she would lead us to the straight path leading to heaven. And Allah has given us the ability to dicern good from bad.

We must study and understand the Quran ourselves and seek help from the one whom Allah has blessed with knowledge.

I agree, possession of the revelation does not guarantee proper understanding of it as can be seen in the split in this religion where God said there should be none, stoning for adultery when God said lashing and so many other things done by those who have the revelation yet fail to understand it or choose to interpret for their own ends etc. I am not talking about prophets and messengers here, obviously. Rank, it really depends on how it's defined as to me it is saying one is 'better' than and I am reluctant to say any 'one' is better in understanding than the next as only God knows that. the verse you posted is showing that Saul 'outranks' those who are complaining but shows that this prophets outranks Saul, i'm not sure if that is what you meant to show.

From your writing I am gathering that you are of the opinion that everyone has the ability and should act as a leader. Please correct me if I am wrong.
i dont remember saying that and no i did not mean that in the way you seem to have taken it, BUT we are all leaders of 'ourselves' ultimately. A child has a parent as 'leader' to guide them and when they are mature enough to accept the responsibility of 'themselves' they become adults. We are told in great detail how to treat others and how to judge by what has been revealed. God has given detailed examples of everything in Quran for those who think and reflect on His verses.

Yes but He has also warned you there are those that 'appear' to be good but are not so it is still down to us to follow what we see based on what has been revealed. The majority of muslims follow hadith and sunnah which most of us 'here' see as an 'addition' to islam from man which shouldnt have happened, but those Imams preaching sunnah are totally convinced they are right as they are 'following Muhammed' as God said and will bring endless arguements for what they believe all backed up by Quran but are they 'interpreting' it correctly BY what is in Quran? Are we for that matter! No one knows but God and this is how God made us all different and made Quran in such a way that it will 'weed out' for want of a better expression, those on the right path to those on the wrong path. What i mean is that when God says he misleads who He will this is all IN Quran, the wrong path and the right path is there for whoever takes it as He says those that follow the 'allegorical' in it are on the wrong path. Its a bit like a series where you can have 2 endings and everything that leads to both those endings are there.

We must study and understand the Quran ourselves and seek help from the one whom Allah has blessed with knowledge.

Yes i agree, but do we know for certain who is the one alive today who has been blessed with that knowledge as the prophet is not alive today, so what we have is Quran and our own minds. The test being what you do with the information contained in that book. Certainly one can ask an Imam or another Muslim we think has the correct knowledge and wisdom, but that one could also be one that God has warned about, so we still have to beware, which ultimately brings us back to ourselves and Quran

                              What is this Wisdom?

                              Peace Raaajah

The ?and? in verse 2231 clearly shows that the scripture and wisdom are two different things. In fact, scripture, wisdom, and knowledge are all different things.

Allah clearly says in verse 362 - And the Quran that is full of wisdom. Therefore, scripture (Quran) is loaded with full of wisdom for the seeker. Then the question is what is the other wisdom referred to in the verse 2231?

This is the wisdom we need to extract the wisdom out of the Quran. This wisdom is necessary to acquire correct understanding of the revelations in the scripture (Quran). Some will have more wisdom than other simply because some has put in more effort and sincerity than others e.g. ranking of prophets.

Now let?s see who can achieve this wisdom.

2-269 - He bestows wisdom upon whomever He chooses, and whoever attains wisdom, has attained a great bounty. Only those who possess intelligence will take heed.

This wisdom allows us to distinguish truth from falsehood i.e. do right and shun bad (evil). One in possession of this wisdom will readily accept the truth in the Quran. They are the winner. Lack of this wisdom will mean discarding the Quran and grabbing hold of falsehood.

Joseph used this wisdom to shun king?s wife when she said to him ?I am all yours?.

Joseph used this wisdom to shun king?s wife when she said to him ?I am all yours?.

Although i agree with most of your post regarding wisdom, but it is a wrong example that you quoted regarding joseph,

The wisdom did not save him from Zulekha's seduction, Allah's help did.

12-24 And (with passion) did she desire him, and he would have desired her, but that he saw the evidence of his Lord thus (did We order) that We might turn away from him (all) evil and shameful deeds for he was one of Our servants, sincere and purified

So siki. what is that Wisdom, which was given to Messenger of Allah along with Scripture and how can we use it now?

He bestows wisdom upon whomever He chooses....

He has mentioned that he gave it to his Last messenger as we read in above aayt, and to whom he choses, but what about others how can they attain that Wisdom?

                                    by acquiring knowledge.

Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit, wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.

saw that on someone's signature and thought it very wise muscle

It is information that tomato is classified as fruit by plant experts, knowledge is that despite classified as fruit it is not put/added in the fruit salad. Wisdom is to know the unexplained/hidden reason why it is not put in the salad.

                                          Peace siki,

I equated Allah help = instant wisdom from Allah. What is you view on this?
