It does not look nice when some one talks big, and does not know the difference between Hikmah and Hadith compilation.
If you are trying to pint it to me that I said Hadith book cannot be doubted then you have not read this or any other thread where I have discussed this subject.hikmah=wisdom and im only stating the general rebuttals of hadith followers.
The Quran was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad peace is upon him, through him it was forwarded, he was the best person to explain the verses, he was also provided the Wisdom through which he decided in the daily to daily affairs within the frame work of Quran. If some one gets guide in his daily affairs from the Prophet's Sunna there is no harm in it, He no where said that if some one will not follow my Sunnah he will be not a Muslim.
Do you have any quranic proof that the Prophet Muhammed was the BEST person to explain the verses?
Is wisdom just restricted to messengers/prophet or can general people like us get wisdom too?
The Prophet Muhammed is not with us to follow his sunnah so your left with a dilemma of following a collection of books that contradicts itself and most importantly the quran.
More and more scholars are realizing that the Message could be understood better if we know the History, the culture, the inscriptions of that time to ponder upon.
Does it matter what the scholars say? Scholars are humans they make mistakes just like we do when we interpret the quran. Its absurd for anyone to suggest you have to be a scholar to understand the quran. Is the interpretation of the quran revealed exclusively to 'scholars'?
How can you interpret a book that is for all people i.e all cultures and for all times through history and culture it was revealed in?? This is an absurd claim simply being that the interpretations done WITHOUT historical and culture bias show the beauty and universal application of quran in the world.
Hadith book is an effort of different persons with all their sincerity at that time, they worked hard with all the best tools available at their times, off course those tools are not considered to be perfect or near to perfect by today's standards.
It is only that we can and we should use these tools to understand Quran in a better way. I hope you would have noted the LOOPHOLES AND IDIOCY in your above claims.I think you should take note of your own claims that I've highlighted in bold for you. I think you should reflect very hard on why you feel the need to justify a contradictory book that you want to use to interpret a self explanatory book hmm

It is common sense the person to whom the verses were first revealed, he was chosen in Millions, who else can explain better then him, he had a contact with Allah the sender of Message.
Allah says in Quran
http//www.everyayah.com/data/images_png/2_151.pngSimilarly We have sent among you a Messenger of your own, reciting to you Our Verses and sanctifying you, and teaching you the Book and the Hikmah teaching you that which you used not to know.

To make things beautiful people do plastic surgery. We will not allow that to happen with Quran. Facts are facts and will remain facts.

No assuming if you want to have a good discussion. No one said what you are trying to assume. Just read my post again, OK wait I will just copy it for you

It is common sense the person to whom the verses were first revealed, he was chosen in Millions, who else can explain better then him, he had a contact with Allah the sender of Message. Thanks for proving my point that you don't have a verse proposing the fact that Prophet Muhammed was the BEST at explaining the quranic verses. There's a big difference between given the message to deliver and explaining the message. The Prophet Muhammed was a medium to reveal the message to mankind from God. There's nothing in the quran from what I've read to suggest he had the best explanation of verses. I've read that God Himself is the one who explains the verses to us
Do not move your tongue to hasten it. It is we who will collect it into Quran. Once we recite it, you shall follow such a Quran. Then it is we who will explain it.
Prince
To make things beautiful people do plastic surgery. We will not allow that to happen with Quran. Facts are facts and will remain facts. They maybe facts to you but you haven't shown any concrete evidence to your claims...just weak interpretations at best.
In regards to scholars it's irrelevant who says something...its what is being said that is important. peace

Ayisha
Are you Prince?
Do you know how to count?
Which comes first 153 or 155?
Why do you always answer for others?
Do you have something personal with me?
Do you have anything sensible to say?If you read my post i quoted reply #153 in my response to you. I think you have a tendency to skip or skim past responses to your posts and hence don't come with a strong argument and attack fellow members like Ayisha. She was helping you understand your oversight peace

I don't know why people elevate scholars to a such a high level. Just because they have knowledge doesn't mean they have the wisdom or are 'servants of God' instead taking satan as their friends/companions.

Peace,
Respect.I'd say they see them as some sort of leaders, from this life to a better life - Heaven.
God knows best but the way I see it, some of the people I know, see scholars linked to prophets and messengers.

Yet assuming again! You need not tell me about Ayisha, I know her more than you, have been in contact with her in my 800 posts or so.
You did not discussed, conveniently ignored the Ayat posted that clearly indicates that Muhammad peace is upon him is responsible for explaining the verses of Quran and he is the best one to explain. Now if like a toddler you were looking for exact words than I am sorry. -

God knows best.Off course Allah knows the best. Your understanding of the word "Scholar" seems too narrow, and that of justamuslim is so far from reality.
Alen please read the following Ayat and the words highlighted below

O you who have believed, obey Allah and obey the Messenger and those knowledgeable amongst you. And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is the best and best in result.
to me these knowledgeable are "Scholars" they can be scholar in "Physics" "History" or any other field, and to obey them is not obey them blindly, but to weigh and consider that produces the best result.
justamuslim
don't know why people elevate scholars to a such a high level.
Because people benefit from their works. Look at Einstein Look at different Historians, look at different Linguists look at different anthropologists, they all have benefited Humanity in one way or another.
justamuslimJust because they have knowledge doesn't mean they have the wisdom or are 'servants of God' instead taking satan as their friends/companions.
Most of the Scientists do not believe in the same "God" you believe in, some even deny the existence of one. But they still are Scholars and we have to refer to their work.
-
We have to refer to their work because their work is worth referring to. it is not EINSTEIN people look upto..its wat he discovered....n trust me the world of science is really not big on respecting and giving authority to people unless their work has been established as making sense through hundreds of years of experimental evidences done by thousands of other scientists. in science as well as any other field, people love tearing out and disproving other peoples theories, that is why most of science is reliable, coz of this self check mechanism. the theories from these people hv never been contradicted by the laws of the physical world.Hence why they are respected, not coz they gained so much knowledge in their discipline, and then tried to manipulate other people into believing the earth is flat instead of round.
religion on the other hand is not really sthing that can be experimentaly proven or tested. Hence why u need to be very careful in calling people religious scholars.just coz someone has studied the quran fr a long time doesnt mean he knows wat hes talking about. there are places where the quran mentions people who recite the quran, yet the quran curses them back, hence this shows that only studying the quran dusnt make you KNOWLEDGABLE about Islam. specially if u have ur own agenda and are trying to manipulate things.
now if the scholars have benefitted islam sure we wud hv followed them....but seriously, introducing stuff like stoning to death fr adultery and cutting off hands for stealing is NOT benefitting religion, its manipulating it.
The prophet was no doubt the BEST person to bring the message of Allah, coz Allah wudnt decide on sending it thru someone who didnt deserve it or who cudnt handle it. HOWEVER following the hadith is NOT following the prophet, coz these hadith are compiled by ppl who were there some 200 odd years after him..if thats not enough to shake ur faith in them then just see how many place these hadith contradict the quran and themselves.plz stop being a blind follower. why are you exchanging something good for sthing that is bad?the quran IS prophets sunnah...in several places the quran tels us wat the prophet said and did in specific cases. the incidences that Allah wanted to preserve are mentioned in the quran. it mentions muhammad, abraham, jesus...all teh great people of knowledge whom we need to follow...not muslim and bukhari and all those so called scholars.

when i was young, i remember my family making sort of like a pilgrimage to these shrines (tombs of scholars). i remember the tomb draped in green velvety looking cloth. you take your shoes off before entering, light a candle, put rose petals on the tomb, then sit and recite some dua in arabic. i remember wondering ok, why am i visiting a dead guy's tomb. when people are going through difficult times, people go to these shrines as these scholars were elevated to high level close to god.
my mom and i were talking about the things that we did and believed in - all out of ignorance of the koran.

Yet assuming again! You need not tell me about Ayisha, I know her more than you, have been in contact with her in my 800 posts or so.
Sorry raj but you do not know me at all, you know what satan is whispering to you about me and that's blinding you to a lot of things. Prince obviously knows me better than you do, sharing a few posts means nothing, there are those who read and say nothing, but they see.You did not discussed, conveniently ignored the Ayat posted that clearly indicates that Muhammad peace is upon him is responsible for explaining the verses of Quran and he is the best one to explain. Now if like a toddler you were looking for exact words than I am sorry.
Your verse says nothing of the sort of what you want it to say. Prince rightly pointed out that I referred you to post 155 where the clear verse tells you who explains Quran, Allah, yet your whispering satan made you skip over that and just come back with spite as you always do.
Allah says Quran is clear for those who reflect on its verses, you say it needs explaining and was explained in some way by Muhammed but when asked you can never say where these explanations are outside Quran. if they are lost then we only have Quran to learn from and Muhammeds explanations are gone.
So, you say Muhammed explained it, Allah says HE explains it. Who is satan whispering at to make them think Allahs words are not true Raj? Clue for the childlike mind It's not me or wayfinder
-
Sorry rraza i don't know weather you were just commenting, referring to my post or some thing else.
Anyway I would like to comment on some parts of your postreligion on the other hand is not really sthing that can be experimentaly proven or tested.
that is what you think and this is not true.
now if the scholars have benefitted islam sure we wud hv followed them....but seriously, introducing stuff like stoning to death fr adultery and cutting off hands for stealing is NOT benefitting religion, its manipulating it.
Surely Scholars have benefited Islam in all fields. No "scholar" has introduced any stuff like stoning to death for adultery.
Cutting of hands is Quranic how much you want to try to twist the meaning of verses in order to appease Westerners and their "present" standards.HOWEVER following the hadith is NOT following the prophet, coz these hadith are compiled by ppl who were there some 200 odd years after him..if thats not enough to shake ur faith in them then just see how many place these hadith contradict the quran and themselves.plz stop being a blind follower. why are you exchanging something good for sthing that is bad?
If you are addressing this to me then you are absolutely wrong you seem not to read the posts of others.
Secondly your information regarding Hadith seems to be gathered from people who reject HAdith.the quran IS prophets sunnah...in several places the quran tels us wat the prophet said and did in specific cases. the incidences that Allah wanted to preserve are mentioned in the quran. it mentions muhammad, abraham, jesus...all teh great people of knowledge whom we need to follow...not muslim and bukhari and all those so called Sholars.
Sunnah of prophet and Quran are two different things. No body told you to follow Imam Muslim or Imam Bukhari, neither in any of their existing writings they asked people to follow them. They did research with best available tools of that time, they took extreme care in compiling, off course their method was far from perfect by today's standards of research and people of two hundred years later may laugh at today's research as you do now at previous research, but Their integrity cannot be doubted though there were flaws in their study and research but they still were Scholars of their time and made great impact.
As the time has changed now and their lots of problems we encounter in our daily life that we are some times unable to find any answer in Quran due to our less knowledge, people come out to solve these problems the average ones by twisting the meanings of Ayats and much wiser ones with Ijitihaad. Similarly in those days when Islam expanded with great pace there were lots of problems ,many Scholars came forward and did Ijtihaad on the basis of Quran and Sunnah, the result was Islam growing and growing. Now today if you find those Ijitihaads of Imam Abu HAnifa or Imam Jaffar as laughable is because those were for the culture and people of 1200 years before our time, but they were successful at that time, now most of those conditions do not exist, we again need some Ijtihaad. Any body with sane mind may know that one can do Ijtihaad only if he is well versed with Quran and its meanings its context, the reasons and the logic for Ayats. Other wise we would have half baked Quranist Scholars, with end result of confusion and more confusion.

my mom and i were talking about the things that we did and believed in - all out of ignorance of the koran. This is human nature. Even the most highest ranking Quranists and God aloners, when their Kids are sick will Run to a DOCTOR or may look for a specialist, they will not leave it to Allah. I live in sub continent one of the most fertile area for shrines and shrine worshipers. The main reasons are illiteracy and poverty. The rich Quranist may move to a doctor or specialist he can afford a poor person may go to a Hakeem, a Peer (farsi word), or to shrine in hope of getting his son well. Some may afford expensive boy/girl fertilization program but others have to depend upon the DUWA made on shrines.
Sahih Muslims
Book 004, Number 1076'A'isha reported Umm Habiba and Umm Salama made a mention before the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) of a church which they had seen in Abyssinia and which had pictures in it. The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said When a pious person amongst them (among the religious groups) dies they build a place of worship on his grave, and then decorate it with such pictures. They would be the worst of creatures on the Day of judgment in the sight of Allah.
Book 004, Number 1080
Abu Huraira reported The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said Let Allah destroy the Jews for they have taken the graves of their apostles as places of worship.
If worship on graves of apostles are not allowed what to say about saints/scholars.
