While waiting for this thread to be moved, I might as well say what I think about this.

I think God is perfectly clear on the issue (e.g. 51, 2173, 6145), which settles any fundamental moral arguments in my mind.

I like eggs, milk and meat from various animals because it is nutritious and delicious. I find leather to be highly useful.

I am not blind to the cruelties and abuses going on in farms, feedlots, slaughterhouses and fisheries of this world, and I'd like many things to change for the better.

I'm fine with other people arbitrarily restricting their own diets, to each his own. I dislike other people trying to restrict my diet.

        Peace Magnus

I agree another point i'd like to make (slightly off topic, sorry) is people seem to focus on meat like its the only cruel industry in the world.

What about other products? slave labour? multi-billion/million corporate businesses who ship work overseas and sell products by the roof? yet pay workers peanuts? could be crops, could be material goods or whatever.

        There are many injustices.

Meat is not forbidden so i wouldn't say it's better not to. People should do what they feel is right.

P.S what about those cows that get massaged and eat particular food (forgot what it's called) they get the deluxe treatment

also look at the wildlife food chain, they eat animals do you think they're doing injustice? if it's not me it's not you it's another animal.

        Peace

I think that we should treat animals with respect and care. When we domesticate them we take them into our protection because we diminish or remove their ability to survive on their own. Also it has been shown that abuse or mutilation of animals will many times lead to that same person having aggressive and violent urges towards people. So perhaps train yourself to treat animals with respect and maybe it can carry over to your relationships?

Personally I choose to minimize my eating of meat as much as possible. It's not that I disagree with eating animals in general but I don't like how the industry is where I live. The most prominent meat packing companies actually produce meat that is dangerous for your health. If I eat meat at all it would only be from animals treated well. That would mean local farms. The biggest reason though is just that I really don't enjoy it as much. I like good fish, maybe a cheeseburger. I guess I'm just picky.

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

                    hahaha that wa so funny.

I am mostly vegetarian, although the times I do eat meat, I enjoy it. Any product that you consume transfers its energies to you. So if you mistreat animals and then consume them, you are only draining your own energy levels.

This can be extended to even relationships (not the consuming part, of course )...but thats a different topic altogether.
