Just an interpretation, and I think it's never mentioned in the Quran.
Dzulkifli's story in the Qur'an is way too obscure for us to identify him with someone else, IMO.

In the progressive muslims translation, one verse translates his name as isaiah and the other verse as ezekiel.
I don't think there is enough information on him in the Quran to be sure who he really was.

Agreed. Traditionally it's interpreted as Ezekiel, I think. Not sure why.
I had never heard of a possible Buddha reference. I did a google search and apparently the proponents of that interpretation say it refers to Buddha because he was from an area of India named Kapilavastu. Kifl, the theory goes, is an Arabicization of Kapila.
Who knows.
