National Geographic documentary about the construction of a replica of a ~1200 year old Arab trading vessel found sunk off the coast of Singapore. The result is an 18 meter hull constructed with hand tools using sown-together planks (rather than nails).
The documentary is really only about the construction of the replica, and barely touches upon the history of early Muslim seafaring. Nonetheless it gives a glimpse of the naval technology available in Arabia around the time of the Prophet Muhammad.
