Islam is submission
-
I don't think so, because as per the discussion we had on the thread mentioned above, it appears to me the free choice is there and the trust is the responsibility of having faith.
Well, if the universe is a deterministic system from allah's perspective that removes any and all free choice that we may have from allah's perspective; thus we are left with the illusion of free choice. We think the way we operate and the choices we make are non-deterministic, but when looked at from the perspective of a transcendental timeless being - we are merely going from A to B in no time.
More replies to come soon.
btw, sorry about calling you a dude ops

We have a limited number of choices we can make, a limited number of outcomes we can achieve...the choices are within these limits, and lead to a set number of outcomes.
If we say that free choice is the ability to choose whatever we want and choose whichever outcome we want, then that's not happening. If that's what the illusion of free choice is, then i agree...we all live by rules in a determined system, and that's what submission is...
When we understand the rules and choose to live by them...and not go around thinking arrogantly that it's not fair, i want to be able to do whatever i want and not have to pay the price etc etc...it's God's universe and we live by His rules, or we pay the price for our arrogance and myopia.
Just wanted to know what your definition of free choice is btw..tia.

PEACE NEO
When you submit to the ultimate entity, you forego "choice". There is no "freedom of choice" within this material existence.
Discuss.
There is always freedom of choice...except for birth and death. The power of choice, that is, to be self-conscious of one's power of choice, is one of Allah's gifts to human beings.
