According to the quran, it was in arabia, because the quran is in the arabic language as stated in the quran, while palestine and syria historically use to speak aramaic at that time
According to some, the sourahs wich starts with 3 letters alphabets are revealed in mecca, the sourahs that starts with one letter of the alphabets, wee evealed in medina
according to histoy and geography, the quran was revealedin Mecca, and Media wich was called Yathrib and than became medina of the prophet, wich means the ciy of the prophet
a large part of the quran was revealed for bani israel, therefore the land of bani israel was median , because bani israel or jews were banned from palestine and they were almost inexistant in palestine under the roman catholic empire.
the quran doesn't say wich city exactly it was revealed because the quran is a message of conduct for mankind.

the rest is so much argument as where is becca and mecca and medina etc.. but to me it's simple, mecca and media were the cities where the arabs lived and also bani israel.

      peace

            Salam,

The place of revelation would have been several

            a) the place where the prophet lived before his forced emigration
            b) the place where he emigrated to
            c) the places in-between as some vereses were revealed in battle situations
            d) the place of the restricted temple(masjid alaharam)

            Regards,

I believe Ayman covers this a little
                http//free-minds.org/ayman

All information is correct to the best of my knowledge only and thus should not be taken as a fact. One should always seek knowledge and verify for themselves when possible: 17:36, 20:114, 35:28, 49:6, 58:11.

                    Salaam,

                    AOA all

                    Regards

As per my understanding aayaats are still in the process of revelation as follows

                    637

637 And they said If only a sign was sent to him from his Lord! Say Allah is able to send a sign, but most of them would not know.

                    16101

16101 And if We exchange a revelation in place of another revelation; and Allah is more aware of what He is revealing; they say You are making this up! Alas, most of them do not know.

The word used in 16101 is 'Yunazzilu' same as in 162

The green highlighted part in 16101 above is used similar to 420

                    420

420 And if you wish to replace one wife with another, and you have given one of them a large amount, then do not take anything from it. Will you take it by falsehood while it is clearly a sin?

                    579

579 He is the One who sends down to His servant clear revelations, to bring you out of the darkness and into the light. Allah is Compassionate towards you, Merciful.

Same word used as in 162 and 16101

More clear? Exactly same word 'Yunazzilu' is used in 3024

                    3024

3024 And from His signs is that He shows you the lightning, giving you fear and hope, and He sends down water from the sky, and He revives the land with it after its death. In that are signs for a people who comprehend.

                    So,

                    5101

5101 O you who believe, do not ask about things which, if revealed to you, would harm you; and if you ask when the Quraan is being sent down, then they will become clear to you. Allah pardons for them, and Allah is Forgiving, Compassionate.

                    Hope this help, inshaAllah.

May Allah guide us all towards the Truth. pr
                    Mohammed M. Khan
