Salaamun all,

I was wondering about saying "Salaamun Alaikum" or "Salaam" or "Al(s)-Salaam" or "Peace", etc...

I was confused for years, but Allah guided me to 494

494 O you who believe, if you go forth in the cause of Allah, you shall investigate carefully. And do not say to those who greet you with Al(s)-Salaam You are not a believer! You are seeking the vanity of this world; but with Allah are many riches. That is how you were before, but Allah graced you, so investigate carefully. Allah is expert over what you do.

654 And if those who believe in Our revelations come to you, then say Salaamun Alaikum, our Lord has decreed mercy upon Himself, that any of you who commits sin out of ignorance and then repents afterwards and amends, then He is Forgiving, Merciful.

As per 494 I understand that before we were saying "Al(s)-Salaam" and after becoming a believer we have to say "Salaaman " or "Salaamun "
