    Salaam to all.

I recently had a debate with a friend (who is shia), about these verses

A powerful being from among the Jinn said, "I will bring it to you before you rise from your station. For I am strong and trustworthy."

One who had knowledge from the book said, "I will bring it to you before you blink." So when he saw it resting before him, he said, "This is from the grace of my Lord, so that He tests me whether I am thankful or whether I reject. As for he who is thankful, he is thankful for himself, and as for he who rejects, then my Lord is Rich, Bountiful."

My traditional understanding was that the person in 2740 was a Jin who had extra-human powers which enabled him to bring the queen in the twinkling of an eye...... but this verse does not say that he was necessarily a Jin. So could he be a human too?

This friend that I talked to quoted some shia commentaries (which I was obviously not interested in) that that person was not a Jin but a human (infact he quoted from a shia commentary which said the person in 2740 was a cousin of Solomon, and then drew his parallels with Ali) I was not interested in the shia point of view which compared him to Ali, but I still thought he had a point when I re-read both the verses. Verse 2739 just says "One who had knowledge from the book", not "the Jin who had knowledge from the book". In 2739 we come to know that the offer made by a Jin, even though he was powerful, was inferior to the one made by this person in 2740 who had the knowledge from the book.

It seems to me that what enabled the person (human or Jin) in 2740 to bring the throne faster than the Jin in 2739 is that he had the knowledge from the book not because he may have been a Jin or even a powerful one. Which may mean a human given that particular "knowledge from the book" could also perform that feat? So what does that leave us with, tele-transportation?

        salaam

I'm more interested in "what was that book" rather than "who was that man".
can book here means some Source code? see 1061 or 936 for example.
        what is Omol alKetab 434?

Assalam u Alaikum Wa Rahmathullah hai wa Barakaath.

The Jinn claimed to bring it back in a certain time but then a MAN brought it back before Hazrat Suleiman (Alaihis Salaam) blinked. No comparison to Hazrat Ali (KaramAllahu Wajhahum) as Hazrat Ali was on a completely different, muchhhhhh muchhhhhhh higher station than this Man (I have his name in a book but i don't have the book to hand). The man was a Wali (Pious servant of Allah) on whom Allah bestowed the ability to travel a great distance in a short space of time. Orthodox Sunni Islam and not reformist "Salafi" or "Deobandi" or "Ikhwani" Islam recognises the Awliyah Allah as pious servants with gifts bestowed upon them from Allah. For references of Tafsir as well as specific Qur'anic verses and Sahih Hadith explaining the existence of the Awliyah Allah (Allies of Allah) please send me a private message ) Although it would be best to speak to a qualified Shaikh of Ahle Sunnah Wal Jama'ah in your locality. And the book mentioned was of course the Zabooth or Psalms of Hazrat Dawud (Alaihis Salaam) the book which was revealed for the people of Israel and even though Hazrat Suleiman Alaihis Salaam did not receive the book, it was for the people of Israel which Hazrat Suleiman was also King of.

It is a big misconception in the Muslim world that a Jinn transported the throne of the Queen of Sheeba )

Im also of the opinion that it was a Human who did it. ALLAH shows us that a Human can be much powerful then an Ifrit, the most powerful of Seraphim (Jinkind), if he has divine knowledge. Dawud also showed us that a man who is a true submitter can defeat a Nephilim (Titan).

                    Peace, brother!

i dont think it was teleportation, it was duplication. because the throne looked almost the same, not exactly the same. you may research some things of occultism. occultism is not based entirely on dark magic (sihr). its more like true science sound, vibration and magnetism. its the actual science of the ancients, not todays pseudoscience and scientific dictatorship which only gives you bullshit theories to make you a mental slave which is the actual dark magic...

                      Salaam,

                      (throne) also signifies

Might, or power regal power; sovereignty; dominion from the same word as signifying the throne, or seat, of a king.

A possible explanation for who brought the throne of Queen of Sheba to Solomon?
