IMHO, code 19 is just a rip-off of the Bible Code; Its too simple to be divine... seems as just a coincidence. For example, why aren't the number of bismillahs a multiple of 19? Also, why is all the multiplication/analsys being done with base10 math, and not in Laplace or even Fourier domains? etc. etc.

and the number has realized all its assigned functions according to the prophetic verses of Chapter 74. Because of the implications of his discovery of the Secret, as well as his strong criticism of the sectarian teachings based on Hadith and Sunna,
There is no need to take recourse to so called teachings on hadith to prove Rashad Khalifa a cheat and fraud. Whatever he claimed was nothing but scum and that is evidently established from his own claims and writings that it were conjecture and stupid assertions.

The Hidden, for 19x74 (1406) lunar years, and was discovered in 1974 by my colleague, Dr. Rashad Khalifa, an Egyptian-American biochemist. Edip
Submitted by ramsesy (Colombia), Oct 2, 2006 at 2116
It is amazing to discover that a once colleague and ex Egyptian country-man Rashad Khalifa, self-proclaimed " a Messenger of Covenant " , had fooled many naive people. I personally knew Khalifa since we both were Egyptian graduate students of agricultural sciences in USA, 1959-66 in both Arizona and California; in Cairo 1966-68 as researchers at both the Ministry of Agriculture and Ein-Shams University; in Tripoli, Libya, 1975-76, as a professor at Triploi University( myself) and researcher at the Arab Institue for Development (Khalifa).
Khalifa was a master of deception, lying and exploitation all his life. He claimed to be a chemist while the official certificates for Bsc, from Ein-Shams Univ, Cairo, Msc from Univ of Arizona , Tucson, and PhD from Univ of California, Riverside, all state he was an agriculturist-horticulturist, with a speciality in plant physiology, as myself. He defected from Egypt 1968 under the pretext to accompany his American wife for a family visit but never returned to fulfill obligations toward our country as preconditioned within the terms of our governmet scholaship to study abroad. While in Libya, he was contracted as a self-claimed chemist to turn Libya into a protein-rich and exporter country by converting its vast oil resources to animal protein. He never did that, while he abused the good-well of the Libyans delivering TV speeches on ISLAM!.
Suddenly , Khalifa the false chemist turned into a Muslim scholar/theologian deciphering a mysterious divine code of Qur'an based on absurd numerical calculations. He fooled some Muslim countries, particularly Libya and Saudi Arabia from which he received huge amount of money. Khalifa was a typical Jim Jones type misleading and abusing naive followers ....

-Sonnie, MSEELol wut? and how come scientist (even non muslims some) say that It was an extraordinary thing and out of any chances to be a coincidence?

I don't see any reason to accept the teachings of the 19ers myself. I am open minded, but there just isn't anything in their arguments I find at all persuasive. I'm a computer programmer by trade, and I'm pretty certain I could find extremely unlikely, numerical anomalies in any substantial body of text, especially if I were afforded the same luxury Khalifa had; that of being able to define what I was looking for only after I'd found it.
Just for the record, there is very little mathematics in the 19ers methodology, it is largely numerical, perhaps numerological, but not really mathematical. I sympathise wholeheartedly with the above post which demands an explanation as to why only base10, why not base19 or binary? Or why not base138 or whatever numerical system you cherry-pick? It's all very shaky.
In response to the claim above, where it's author implies that 'scientists' can confirm the miraculous - are you serious?! Firstly, there are scientists who believe in Buddhism, some of the others believe that God actually died, but it's ok, He then rose from the dead. This was apparently all to do with forgiving sins. I would've thought nailing God to a cross would have been more sinful than eating forbidden fruit, but I'm no Christian theologian. The point is, what scientists believe has nothing to do with science at all. Secondly, scientists don't do miracles, at least not in their capacity as scientists, it wouldn't make any sense. Thirdly, you should very probably identify which scientists you are referring to when you base your arguments on their findings. This is just a convention though.

I don't know which, i just saw somewhere on wikipedia or dunno which site that some scientists claimed it was impossible to be a coincidence, and 19 doesn't really matter as long as we know hadiths and sunnah is bullshit

I don't think the 19 thing is that important either, it just seems to be an ongoing point of contention amongst the Quran alone crowd. I find it puzzling more than anything else, but hey, it's a crazy world out there.
God Bless you mate and may He guide us to a straight path.

Salaam,
-Sonnie, MSEEThe above statements only demonstrate your ignorance of the subject that your are adamantly rejecting. For instance, the number of bismillah are inded multiple of 19. There are exactly 114 Bismillah with all their repetitions.
You are not the first nor the last bigot who will fulfill the prophetic statements in 7430-31, 7146 and many more. I am not sure whether you will ever open your eyes and witness this great miracle but I still pray that one day you study it before making up your mind about it.

Here is a sample of reaction from people, from an assortment of disciplines, ages, religious, philosophical, and ethnic background
Witnesses and Ingrates Fulfilling the Prophecy
64-5 And every sign that came to them from their Lord, they turned away from it. They have denied the truth when it came to them. The news will ultimately come to them of what they were mocking.
635 If their rejection gets to be too much for you, you should know that even if you dug a tunnel through the earth, or climbed a ladder into the sky, and produced a miracle for them (they still would not acknowledge). Had GOD willed, He could have guided them, unanimously. Therefore, do not behave like the ignorant ones.
7146 I will divert from My revelations/signs/miracles those who are arrogant on earth without justification. Consequently, when they see every kind of sign/miracle they will not acknowledge. When they see the path of guidance, they will not adopt it as their path, but when they see the path of straying, they will adopt it as their path. This is the consequence of their rejecting our revelations/signs/miracles, and being totally heedless thereof.
264-6 Whenever a reminder from the Most Gracious comes to them that is new, they turn away in aversion. They have denied, thus the news will come to them of what they used to ridicule.
7430-31 On it is Nineteen. We have made the guardians of the fire to be angels; and We did not make their number except as a test for those who have rejected, to convince those who were given the book, to strengthen the acknowledgment of those who have acknowledged, so that those who have been given the book and those who acknowledge do not have doubt, and so that those who have a sickness in their hearts and the ingrates would say, "What did God mean by this example?" Thus God misguides whoever/whomever wishes, and He guides whoever/whomever wishes. None knows your Lord's soldiers except Him. It is but a reminder for people.
If you have not read the verses above, please do so now. Since its discovery, Code 19 has started the greatest controversy among Muslims and one will find numerous passionate debates in discussion forums. Interestingly, the passionate objectors cannot escape supporting the very prophecy they attempt to debunk. Code 19, which has strengthened the acknowledgment of thousands of people around the world, removed doubts in the minds of many among the People of the Book. On the other hand, a great number of people declared it to be a hoax or magic, and many failed to witness it by exactly uttering the prophetic phrase, "What does it mean?"
Below is a small sample of diverse reaction to this incredible miracle that acts like a 3-D stereogram made of computerized random dots, as of 2009
"I was a member of a Sunni sect. By the grace and mercy of the One and only God I have been directed to the true path of God after witnessing the miracle of Nineteen. This happened after I discovered the Power of God through the means of my intellect, which allowed me to contemplate the Word of God, the fully detailed, unique, universal Scripture of the Quran. I am eternally and limitlessly grateful to my Maker for caring about me in such a profound and exhaustive way. I am also thankful to the people He chose to be His means of guidance for my lost self. One of these upright and stout men is my brother Edip, who in my eyes will always remain a patriarch of the Reformation. All thanks and prayers are to God alone! Alhamdu Lillah!" Aslbek A.Mussin (29), Monotheistic philosopher and activist, Almaty, Kazakhstan
"Trying to understand to what extent the Quran was a "miracle" I asked GOD two years ago to give me "just one proof" that I was in the right path. The discovery of the mathematical miracle of the Quran has been God's answer to my prayers which strengthened my faith that the Quran was indeed His very word, and showed me the right way to serve Him by upholding the Quran alone. I Praise GOD for that." Maria Benchenane (20), Graduate Student at EPHE, Paris, France.
"This new book by Dr. Edip Yuksel is an important update of the original discovery by Dr. Rashad Khalifa around 30 years ago. I knew Edip as one of the closest and certainly the most critical student and associate of Dr. Khalifa when we were in Masjid Tucson during the 1980-1990s. From the earliest days Edip worked the hardest assisting Rashad to weed out the diamond from the glass, the valid Nineteen phenomenon from the invalid ones. This book is an important milestone but still a work in progress, as I believe we are only at the tip of an iceberg." Gatut Adisoma, Ph.D (55), Executive /Entrepreneur, Jakarta/Indonesia.
"Since 18 years I have been studying Miqra. When I read about the Cod 19 in Quran I was very surprised! I believe that no human could create the Quran and the Code 19. It is really God's work. Through the same message of the Torah and the Quran all people can know the God of Avraham and peacefully surrender themselves to Him." Ezra (Piotr) Wolski (33, Poland), Spiritual teacher-leader of Russian Qaraim in Poland, Liberec, Czech.
"The Code-19 is an extraordinary, living evidence for people who pursue the truth, honestly and objectively. Its miraculousness lies not only in how fantastically it has been planned/designed by the Most Wise, but also in its ability to be verified independently by anyone at anytime regardless of their age, gender, social or economic status. The proof adds validity to one's faith, puts God on top of one's priority list, and frees the individual from petty, egoistic vanities of this short, lowly earthly existence. This is our only chance for redemption so let us avail it and sincerely thank the Almighty for unveiling the "hidden secret" for our scientific generation. Peace." Khurram Kemal Shahzad (30), Engineer, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
"The 19-based system is one of the greatest miracles of the Quran. Though, I do not agree with Edip Y?ksel fully, I appreciate very much his dedication and service to the Quran." Yaar Nuri ?zt?rk (57), Professor of Theology and Author, Istanbul, Turkey
"The number 19 is the number of Bahai cult and has nothing to do with the Quran. It is modern cabbalism and nonsense. Quran's first verse, Bismillah, does not have 19 letters as they claim, but it has 21 letters. I have written a book on this deviation? Recently numerous engineers and doctors started following this path. One of those who follow his imaginations is the guy who was once imprisoned for participating in terror activities in Turkey and now living in America. I met that guy first time during the Ceviz Kabuu TV program and then I immediately understood that he had idolized his ego. He was rude and did not recognize any rules of etiquette. When he realized that I was going to debunk his claims he interrupted my words. I listened to him for half an hour, but when my turn came he would interject." S?leyman Ate (76), former head of the Department of Religious Affairs in Turkey (1976-197, theology professor and author, Turkey
"Nineteeners are heretics. They attempt to find relationship between the number of letters, words, verses and chapters and reach a conclusion. A man who used live in America and who was assassinated first claimed to have found a 19-based mathematical structure in the Quran. He went even further and rejected two verses from the Quran because of their violation of his 19-based calculations. These claims have no scientific nor religious basis. This theory has been refuted. For instance, see Dr. Orhan Kutman's book. That guy who once joined Rashad Khalifa and then gave up some of his ideas made numerous false claims and insulted the religious feelings of the masses in a television program that I could not watch?. I have argued the importance of Sunna in religion in my previous articles... As for those ignorant people who exceed their limits, I invite you to ignore them, and I invite TV programmers to think twice before allowing them to confuse people." Hayrettin Karaman (75), theology professor and author, Turkey
"I committed a blunder by publishing the findings of Dr. Rashad Khalifa in my book and considering it as a miracle of the Quran. When I learned that Rashad used the Code 19 to reject the two verses from the Quran, I realized that I was duped and mislead. The Quran does not have any mathematical structure. The Code 19 is a myth and I denounced it in an article, which was published together with the articles of prominent scholars in a book titled 19 Efsanesi (The Myth of 19). by the same publishing house that published Edip Yuksel's book, Kuran En B?y?k Mucize (Quran, the Greatest Miracle)." Tayyar Altkula? (71), former head of the Department of Religious Affairs in Turkey (1978-1986), theology professor and author, Turkey
"The 30+ year sophisticated realization that the Quran has an elegant internal structure, based upon the prime number "19" reinforces the 14 century belief in the timelessness of this revealed text. Why would such an expanded understanding of this glorious message have motivated some individuals to martyr the scientist who opened the door to this additional wonder of Allah? It is indeed an unaltered Message for all time, for all peoples and all languages, continuing to encourage deep contemplation among all true seekers. Nothing has changed yet more is understood. This gift of greater understanding of an unchanged message, after so much time has passed, is fully consistent with the awesome nature of our Creator." Jeff Garrison (66), Medical Doctor, Colorado, USA
"I started reading the Quran when I was a high school student. All Turkish translations, with a few exceptions, such as the ones by Edip Yuksel or Yaar Nuri ?zt?rk, were adding the word "angels" after the word "nineteen". They were also mistranslating some other verses of the chapter 74 and creating a vivid description of hellfire burning, grilling, frying and schorching the critics of the Quran. I was a university student when I finally discovered a satisfactory understanding of the Quranic statements in verses 7430-31. The number 19 was an intellectual response to the prototype arrogant and ingrate person he would be refuted and convicted by the number nineteen, unequivocally and eternally. The new understanding that correctly reflected the meaning of the text left no doubt in my mind that the Quran was indeed a message from my Creator. The prophetic mathematic structure of the Quran distinguishes the Quran as a unique book; with both its structure and content, it was unlike other religious books of Hadith and Sunna peddled as supplemantary authorities. Now, I can accept the Quran without accepting the contradictory and false teachings. I do not need to follow blindly those religious stories and sectarian teachings. I do not need to trust the words of previous generations in order to know that the Quran is indeed God's message, which has been preserved and protected by an internal numerical code. I can acknowledge God and His words by trusting only my mind, which is exactly what the Quran expects its readers to do in many verses, such as 1736; 10100; 3917-18; 4153; 4221; 6114-116; 1036; 12111; 20114; 217; 3528; 3829. Tark Arabac (23), Math Student at Bosphorous University, Istanbul, Turkey
"I first came to witness the miracle of code-19 at the age of NINETEEN on the site submission.org. That was a life changing moment. The simple facts at submission.org were already enough to convince me of a significant pattern in the Quran based on 19. Besides, a rather significant event in my life involving this number amazingly and counterintuitively led me to accept the theory of evolution instead of creationism as is almost always the case with religions."
"I was always a believer in the Quran, but I had very many questions in regard to the transmission of it. These issues weren't easy, at least for me. How can I be sure, that the Quran wasn't ever altered? In the same time, the proposed methodology of the Quran to solve this issue was very straightforward and reasonable just produce a Sura like it with similar properties. I saw many people trying it. All of them failed. As a student of math, I also studied important mathematical parts of the code, to gain certainty. And nowadays, I acknowledge that 7431 holds true for me my acknowledgement of the Quran has been strengthened, all thanks to God." Zafer Kerem Adg?zel (22), Student of mathematics at the University of Zurich, Switzerland
"Throughout my pursuit for truth I have wondered what it would be like to experience a miracle of biblical proportions. Glory to God the Quran is the miracle of our age. The mathematical harmony of 19 opened my mind to know that only God can preserve His message of guidance." Adam Sigmund (2, Student, South Jersey, USA.
"Through the miracle 19 I started to study the Quran from the beginning to the end. I was curious who the discoverer of this solid proof was and studied his messages. Besides, I also investigated the book 19 Questions for Sunni and Shiite scholars by Edip Yuksel, which also made a lot of sense to me. Finally, I decided to follow only Quran as the source and converted from Sunni to Monotheism. The 19 miracle increased my faith and gave me the courage to discuss with people who follow other authorities besides the Quran. For the disbelievers it is not strange that they are genetically coded by DNA. However, a mathematically coded scripture is strange for them. A coded creature cannot imagine a scripture which is coded by the Creator. Thanks to God for leading the believers out of darkness into the light." Volkan G?ng?r (27), Corporate Finance, Rotterdam, Holland
"I was told that 19 is alpha and omega. I did not know about it, yet it allowed me to search from the first and stop at a point. Had it been not for 19, I would have been still whirling in the pool of not-ending philosophical complications and confusions. After listening and studying the strongest opponents of the Quran and Islam, I felt they were speaking sense only! My belief in the scientific consistency of the Quran was sensibly debunked. I started losing all my faith and respect for the Quran until I came to know about a phenomenon called ?19?. I held my judgment for a period to study it. I critically evaluated this theory, so I studied everything possible to disprove it. But, I couldn?t find any success in debunking the theory and further I was able to see the abundant possibilities of the Quran and its divine signature designed with code 19. Along with some personal experiences, I decided to uphold the Quran, a book backed up by a sound numerical pattern based on Code 19. Code 19, I believe, is a fork between those who want to progress and those who want to stay where they are. I want to progress, so I chose to witness 19 and acknowledge the message of the Quran." Mohammed Jaseer (27), Computer Programmer, Kerala, India.
"Code 19 shows up in the constants related to subatomic particles and it may explain every event in the universe. In other words, there is 19 on the universe." Necat Ylmaz, Professor of Biochemistry, Antalya, Turkey
"My whole life has changed when I have read Rashad?s Khalifa booklet ?Islam, Quran and Hadith?. Before this lecture, I had many doubts about the authenticity of Quran and its divine origin since the traditional Islamic scholar taught us that Quran was transmitted orally at the beginning, many years before being written down and compiled in a book. How could a skeptic mind trust the human memory knowing its weakness and limitation? It is the mathematical structure of Quran based on number 19 that removes all my doubts and strengthens my belief in One God because it is clear that no human or a group of humans, especially in the 7th century, were capable to write a book with such structure. Thanks to God for making me a witness of one of His great signs. This sign opened my eyes to the beauty, the power and the truth expressed by Quran. There is no other book that can do all that especially if the reader is a global skeptic." El Mehdi Haddou (39, Morocco), Veterinary Doctor, Montr?al, Canada
"The mathematical miracle of the Quran is indeed very impressive and an ideal sign for our time. For me, personally, it reassured me that the Quran is the word of God and therefore encouraged me to study it further. However one must also understand that not every multiple of 19 within the Quran is a divine sign or a proof. Presenting these statistically insignificant discoveries alongside the simple mathematical composition of the Quran can put off someone from appreciating the miracle. The mathematical miracle of the Quran directs us to study the Quran further instead of hunting for ANYTHING 19 divisible (See Quran 746)." Karrar Abidi (17), Student, Untied Kingdom
"Any mathematical system will have a formula. You can provide input to the formula and get a predictable output. Code 19 is not mathematics, it is numerology. There is no system or formula or pattern. It is whatever haphazard manmade inconsistent formula gets you a 19 divisible. There is no pattern and this is why 19ers don't use the same formula twice. God knows that they tried to use their formulas consistently but every time they tried, they failed to get a 19 divisible. They are hiding those failed trials and only presenting the 1-in-19 successful trials inevitably found in any random sample. This is why they will NEVER answer your question and they will NEVER share their failed trials. "NINETEEN God's Signature in Nature and Scripture" is about the 1-in-19 random numbers that are divisible by 19 in nature and in scripture. This is why the reader is never told about the infinite numbers in nature and the thousands of failed trials in scripture that are not 19 or 19 divisible. Fancy words such as "God?s Signature" are meant to distract the reader from this untold fact. Instead of insulting the intelligence of the reader, I would suggest that the author honestly shares the whole truth, even at the expense of the book becoming pointless." Ayman (42), VP of a consulting firm, anonymous A critic of Code 19, the Bible Code, numerology, Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and the Easter Bunny, USA.
"Majority of Muslims do not know what the Quran teaches. They only know what religious teachers teach them and what clergymen ordain for them. So they either become blind fanatics or simply forsake Islam like I once did. From the day I "discovered" Islam on my own, I prayed my own way and read the Quran in my own language or English. I thought I was the only Muslim like this. Then one day while surfing the net, I discovered several websites promoting the kind of Islam I thought only I was practicing. When I read about the numerical miracle of the Quran I was more convinced that the Quran is the ultimate guide for Muslims, not laws that were written by traditional Muslim clergy... I will continue to do whatever I can to promote non-sectarian Islam in my country in Malaysia, by peaceful means of course." Farouq Omaro, Malaysia
"There is no formula only an obsession by the most ignorant people on the planet searching for anything nineteen not understanding basic math. A natural sequence of any odd number (1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, ?, 19, 21, 23,?, n) is a multiple of that odd number forms similar patterns. No sign or formula nineteen?only an obsession (fitna) with numerology." Eid, posted at free-minds.org forum.
"I was a Sunni when I first came across the mathematical miracle of the Quran. At first I was shocked, especially when it says that there are two false verses in the Quran, and then when Rashad claimed to be a messenger. Then I went back read it again and again. I noticed that I was reading the Quran more and more; I never read it like this before! On top of that, I understood it, very clear. It made me cry. How many times have I looked at this Book and never realized that this Book is from God. I know that every one says that but do they really believe in it? I started to realize that the truth is clear and I said thanks God, thanks God. I am so happy, but the story doesn't end here." Amine (43), Algeria
"The issue of 7430-31 and other mathematical phenomenon in the Quran in the recent decades depends on every individual's beliefs. The best way of experiencing this is the example of "the one who sees the glass half full of water or another who sees it half empty." No matter whether one rejects or accepts 7430-31 per Dr. Khalifa's English translation, for the first time, it has taken attention of those who were searching for the truth. Peace." Hussein Najaf Pir (55), Retired engineer, Salem, Oregon
"Methodology of Code 19 is as follows. Let us suppose you get two numbers "9" and "5" First you
A Subtract = 9-5 = 4, does not work because it is not multiple of 19
B Add = 9+ 5 = 14 does not work because it is not multiple of 19
C Multiply = 9x5 = 45 does not work
D Divide = 9/5 does not work
Now try placing them together like
59 = Does not work because not multiple of 19
95 = Wow it is multiple of 19 because 95/19 = 5
Suppose if all these EFFORTS fail, then there is a FOOL PROOF method whichever word or verse is creating Hindrance THROW IT OUT OF THE QURAN. Believe this LAST METHOD will never fail." Q-Student, posted at free-minds.org forum."Millions of Turkish people learned about the mathematical miracle of the Quran based on Code 19 from Edip Yuksel's books and TV interviews and debates. This not only transformed my faith to knowledge, it saved me from following menmade religious teachings such as Hadith and Sunna." ?zalp enk (45), Electrical Engineer, Samsun, Turkey
"I come from a nominal Christian background. In 1993, as was their routine, the teacher's union went on strike before school began. My frustrated mother decided to send me to an Islamic school. It was a few years after the murder of Rashad Khalifa, and the school was in the middle of a controversy regarding the role of tradition in Islam. The principal was a traditional Sunni (turban, robe, henna dyed beard, the whole 9 yards). My teacher and some of the students, however, were non-sectarian Muslims. When the school's lease came to an end, the principal and my teacher parted ways, and she established her own school. I initially adhered to the traditional position. But I was disabused after reading Rashad Khalifa's translation of the Quran, and his book The Quran, Hadith, and Islam, that my teacher had given me. The novelty of the Quran's mathematical structure intrigued me, but I remained noncommittal because math wasn't my best subject. It was years after I accepted the Quran's message, and after I brushed up on elementary math, that I began to appreciate how it's message and it's mathematical structure complement each other." Michael Elwood (29) Student, Chicago, USA
"Factors such as unalteration, profundity, logical coherence, literary brilliance of its message and Muhammad?s known lack of literary background adequately assure the Quran?s divine status. Additionally, a mathematical association of Number "19" with the Quran?s structure is a fascinating finding. However, the omission of two verses (of Surah 9) from this association might remain as an issue. On deeper reflection, "Nineteen" in 7430 might denote the degrees of progress in knowledge and power one needs to acquire to decisively conquer Hell fire mentioned in adjoining verses." Abdur Rab (72, Bengladesh), Retired economist and author of Exploring Islam in a New Light An Understanding from the Quranic Perspective, Atlanta, USA
"Attribute it to whatever you like, but multiples of 19 appear in inexplicable abundance in total counts of Qur??nic initials in s?r?t grouped together by identical initial-sets, using the commonly available Arabic text printed in the Y?suf ?Al? translation. Even if all you do is take the text as given and include the alif-initialed s?r?t (whose alif counts in current Qur??nic copies just water down the results), the odds against finding multiples of 19 with such great frequency are still too high, at 2,306 to one. I?ve tried all prime numbers below 100. Random chance does nothing to explain it." Richard S. Voss, Ph.D. (47), Professor in Business Administration, Georgia, USA
"All individuals can benefit from further study of sacred mathematical patterns within the Qur'an. Numerous individuals throughout history have advocated for spurious numerological patterns in religious texts, but modern advocates within the "Code 19" movement often rely on statistically significant and eerily unexplainable evidence to state their case. We must acknowledge that much remains to be studied regarding numerical repetitions in the Qur'an, but we must also strive to open this debate up to the mainstream scientific and academic community for further analysis. Modern technology like data mining software provides near-limitless technological opportunities in order to analyze this phenomenon. Mathematicians and physicists would FREAK OUT if this theory was verified from within their respective communities. Praise for our Lord and Sustainer remains self-evident regardless of numerology, but "Code 19" provides a great plot twist for individuals mired within the "science vs. religion" debate in the West." Matthew Cappiello (23), Student and activist, San Diego, USA
"Khalifa's translation is tainted by his obsession with an imaginary mathematical code centering around the "magic" number 19 that supposedly proves the Quran's divine origin, but he went so far as to throw out two verses so the number of verses would then be a multiple of 19, thus fitting the code." Jeffrey L. Graham, Ordained Imam, USA
"Code 19 is interesting in that it draws attention to read the Quran, after which the content itself upholds the importance of the book not 19. The message of the Quran is in its simplicity; an attempt to introduce a level of complexity will distract attention and dilute the message." Fereydoun Taslimi (55, Iran), Entrepreneur, Atlanta, Georgia, USA
"I just want you to know that Dr. Khalifa's work has made a difference. All of you did a great thing unveiling that. I basically was a disbeliever all throughout undergrad (how many 18-22 year olds are religious these days? Some, but not many ... it's too bad, really, but I didn't know better ...) because I felt there was generally not a scientific basis for religion. In my heart, I think I always knew that wasn't true but thanks to God I came upon Dr. Khalifa's discovery while doing some research at Michigan and thought, wow, there really is something to this book! I'd taken many mathematics (calculus w/ diff equations) and science classes and was awed at the fact that a book could be numerically and literally structured. I was taking Persian classes and decided I really should study more about Islam, even ended up majoring in it. I started reading Qur'an seriously and couldn't believe what I had been missing ... it is a beautiful book even in translation; doesn't even need a mathematical miracle ... it is that good, but yet God put this in there anyway!!" Rodeen Rahbar (34), Medical Doctor, Pennsylvania, USA
"When the world?s mind is occupied with hot violence of suicide bombings and genocides, when cold violence of Sharia law insults and destroys Muslim women, when Female Genital Mutilation destroys more than six thousand girls a day?we should put all our resources to establish the proposed mechanism of ending these violence by Quranic tools. Thanks for your effort, anyway." Hasan Mahmud (46, Bangladesh), Director, Sharia Law Muslim Canadian Congress, Canada
"I can never forget. One day when I was in highschool, I was discussing with my classmates about the preservation and authenticity of the Quran. A friend of mine whose faith in science outbalanced his faith in teachings he inherited from his parents said, "If in the future life is discovered in another planet and we learn that they have a divine book similar to the Quran, then the Quran's divine origin will have support. Otherwise, Quran's self-proclaimed divine origion does not have much merit." When I first witnessed the Miracle 19 because of Edip Yuksel's books, I remembered that conversation I had years ago and said to myself "That means there was no need to wait for intelligent extraterrestrials to find scientific evidence for the Quran's authenticity and preservation." . Raci Bayer (31), Civil Engineer, Ankara, Turkey
"I was born in an Orthodox Muslim community. Then, I was introduced to politically active Sunnis. The most important event in my life is my discovery of the Islamic Reform movement and my discovery of Code 19 and other miracles of the Quran which strengthened my faith and removed all doubts from my heart. Through this paradigm change, when I looked at life under the light of the Quran, things became so clear that I really did not need any other religious source besides the Quran. I strongly believe that millions of people will one day discover the liberating and progressive message of the Quran and will save themselves from the hypocrisy, backward teachings and practices, ignorance, oppression and fictions of religion they inherited blindly from their parents. One day the reign of backward sectarian teachings will come to end and the message will shine over the world again. The message of the Quran will not only save the so-called Islamic World, but will provide real solutions for the ailments inflicting Western societies." Necmettin ASLAN (33) Computer Programmer, Diyarbakr, T?rkiye"If you wonder which chapter has the greatest influence on me, I would not hesitate to point at chapter 74. With its content, literary style, and prophetic statements, Chapter 74 is a shock for modern readers. I first heard about the verse 19 in 1986 after reading Edip Y?ksel's then best-selling book, Kuran En B?y?k Mucize. Then, I was more interested in the second section of the book where the scientific aspect and content of some verses were discussed. A few years later when I looked at the book again, then I appreciated the importance of the 19-based literary structure. My family was not a religious family. I started praying after reading Y?ksel's book. Influenced by my teachers, I joined the religious group called Nurcular (the Followers of Light). This affiliation lasted until April of 1989 when I read the cover story of weekly Nokta (Period) magazine. The popular magazine had interviews with Rashad Khalifa and Edip Y?ksel. Khalifa's and Y?ksel's views were contradictory to the orthodox teaching. Knowing Yuksel from his books, I knew that he would not be blind follower of vain and absurd ideas. In 1989, I obtained the address of Masjid Tucson and contacted Yuksel. Meanwhile, by chance I came across Yuksel's highly controversial book, lgin? Sorular 2 (Interesting Questions-2). I was very lucky, since Edip Yuksel was excommunicated and his books were collected from the market. After a period of research, studying Edip Yuksel's books and discussing with him, I eliminated the information pollution around sign/verse 19 and decided to uphold the Quran as the only source of my religion. Since then, I see the sign 19 to be one of the greatest, as it is described by verse 7435. The sign 19 is a divine blessing to our high-tech generation with a prophetic timing the secret of 19 mentioned in chapter 74 known Secret, was unveiled in 1974, exactly 19x74 lunar years after the revelation of the Quran. However, I cannot understand how so many people can manage to blind themselves to this great miracle." Cemal Akta (40), Financial Advisor, Istanbul, Turkey
"We find it difficult to accept that God would use a system of proof that excludes all the people who needed it during the 1400 years of the Quran's existence and who groped in the dark when puzzled by unintelligible verses. Although, as we shall discover later, the presence of the number 19 in the Quran as presented by Dr. Khalifa, is impressive, it nevertheless lacks the persuasiveness that divine intervention would have provided.... Finding a system of numerics like the one mentioned in Dr. Khalifa's and Mr. Deedat's books is, in the opinion of this writer, possible for any piece of literature, or music if you wish. Any piece of literature will have combinations of letters perhaps in relation to the title, that will allow a computer, properly fed and programmed to find a system of combinations that will prove equally surprising. If so, would the piece be of divine origin? Not being a computer scientist I cannot substantiate the above reasoning, but am convinced that it could be done... We would have no problem combining any number of sentences each containing 19 letters and if we did not wish to waste time we could, by using a computer, be even more successful still. We find, therefore, the over-dramatic presentation of this matter to be highly suspicious and inappropriate." Bapi Sengupta, (India), in an excerpt from his article titled, The Mysterious 19 in the Quran a Critical Evaluation.
"The list of interesting and obviously intentional numerical patterns in the Quran is a great blessing for people who want to uphold the truth at all costs. It serves as a lighthouse guiding people to the Quran, in a storm of misinformation and popular associations of Islam with all that is violent and wrong. Providing very strong evidence for Quran's authenticity, it attracts attention to Quran's message that rejects other sources as religious guidance. This provides a challenge for everyone, and requires an open mind and use of logic to navigate towards the truth. In my own journey, the numerical structure of Quran played a key role and helped me remove my doubts and embrace the Quran. Thank God and thank his servants for this great sign." Gazihan Alankus (30, Turkey), Graduate Student in Computer Science, St. Louis, MO, USA.
"The more I meet people who cannot see this astonishing sign is the more I find myself in glorification." Ensar ?z?mc? (28, Istanbul), IT & E-Commerce, United Kingdom.

Lol wut? and how come scientist (even non muslims some) say that It was an extraordinary thing and out of any chances to be a coincidence?
Who are those "scientists" and what papers did they say in a peer reviewed scientific journal? Maybe you are lying.

Salaam Edip and the others;
Congratulations on the publication (a large book!). My personal view regarding the subject is simply that I don't know because I have not focussed my research into that area. If it is true then it is a sign and should be treated as such. If it is false then it is no loss because the Qur'an itself was not the basis of belief but rather the Message and arguments contained within. That is why Allah (SWT) enjoined the medieval Arabs to believe in it. To base one's belief and religious practice on the number "19" is dangerous and the "Submitters" of Masjid Tucson have walked into this trap (i.e. by enforcing and pontificating about Allah (SWT) based on the base-10 number "19". We could say (assuming it is true and considering the ayat in which it is mentioned) that the timing of the miracle is a (pre-planned) response to increased critical attacks on the Qur'an (e.g. from archaeology and science) but then that is simply to help us accept the Message and not literally make us believe in Code 19 (i.e. we would treat it as a prod and increase in faith without becoming attached to the code).
Basically we should remember Francis Bacon's description of "Idola Tribus" where humans make the mistake of thinking that they can know everything about reality. We cannot, and likewise we cannot know everything about the nature of anything (including Code 19). Thus whilst it is our belief in the unseen (23) and acceptance of the Message which makes us Muslims, to have an extreme (absolute) view either way about something as debateable as the interpretation of Sura 74 is dangerous and constitutes an attachment of part of one's faith to something besides Allah (SWT) and His Message, or to denial. I am sure that Edip Yuksel would still be a Muslim without Code 19 (since he was a Sunni before reading Khalifa's "The Qur'an, Hadith and Islam" and therefore that he would agree, whilst I am sure Ayman will agree because he quite clearly does not need Code 19 to believe in Allah (SWT) as the author of the Qur'an. Yet both apparently have absolute and polar views about the code (or to Ayman the code that never was), and this I think is a mistake.
Edip's ultimate argument (giving grace to his evidence) is that there is something particularly interesting (i.e. subtle beyond human capacity to imitate) coming from Sura 74. His presentation of evidence thus serves the purpose of presenting people with the best arguments FOR the proposition.
Ayman's ultimate argument (giving grace to his evidence) is that there is no way to completely confirm the proposition and thus we should not share the enthusiasm of Rashad Khalifa and his followers about the code. His viewpoints, arguments and presentations serve the purpose of providing people with the best arguments AGAINST the proposition. Now even if one is absolutely right and one is absolutely wrong, neither the code nor the absence of the code comes under the Qur'anic conveyance of "clear Arabic" which presents legitimate arguments for following Allah's (SWT) Sunna. Thus it is not incumbent on people that they arrive at a definite conclusion concerning this subject. All that we can do is look at the evidence for and against in a dispassionate manner (achievable only by being attached neither to proving or disproving the code) and acknowledging it as a sign to reward or encourage those who already have faith, or passing over it due to finding little connection with and possessing faith independent from it. Each view should be an open-minded one, and nor should it make anyone feel insecure. If people follow the Message, then whether they so whilst receiving encouragement from Code 19 or not should not be an issue. The important point is not to attach the basis of one's faith to it. If someone indeed has arrived at absolute certainty then it should be with the same certainty that one can realise according to the Qur'an that "seven heavens" could mean "many heavens" etc... i.e. if others disagree it should be no problem. Thus to call people ingrates for not embracing it is to share the same perceived fault of those who dismiss it completely. People can embrace or curse it, but absolute views should be silent for the same reason that absolute sectarian differences are harmful. Faith is a personal thing, and everyone should overcome there diffrences and work together. When we learn to respect the rights and individualty/choices of everyone, we will find that such things death for apostasy and accusations of being "kuffar" for not conforming to "sunniformity" etc. (all forces which nullify the universal benefit of Islam) will no longer be a hassle and thus there is really no problem except what Muslims create for themselves. We should all just follow the Message because whether there is a Code 19 or not, neither Muhammad (SAW) nor Edip Yuksel nor anyone else had/has power to guide anyone (735, 7188, 2856, 7221-22). That is Allah's (SWT) role.
There was something else I wanted to say but I forget.

And when come to you those who believe in our verses so say,

Thus whilst it is our belief in the unseen (23)
Khuda HafizDear brother
I used to believe and used to translate the word "AMANA" as "BELIFE" and "IMAN" as "Faith" but no more. A book that challenges others to bring their EVIDENCE cannot ask people just to BELIEVE. A book that advices people not to follow anything blindly and reminds them their EARS, EYES, and MINDS cannot be asking them to accept its divine origin, which is an extraordinary claim, without extraordinary evidence.
All Christians, Mormons, Hindus and all other religions and sects uses EXACTLY THE SAME excuse to follow their inherited dogmas.
Your methodolgy is diametrically contradictory to the methodolgy of the Quran.
I do not believe the unseen, but I acknowledge the unseen based on knowledge and evidence. That is a huge difference and I will not be surprised that you will never appreciate the code 19 as long as you force yourself to be a gullible believer. Furthermore, your belief in the Quran, more accurately your ZANN (conjecture) about the Quran is not due to the Quran, but due to your faith in your ancestors, your culture, or the bandwagon near you.
I hope that instead of taking these words personally, you THINK on it and discover the problems with your faith, which is euphemism of "wishful thinking" or "joining one of the banwagons"
Peace,

Only those who deserve will witness this great sign. Those who are ignorant, bigotted and arrogant are prohibited to witness this sign. See 7146 and chapter 74.
