Audio: Arabic-Only Quran--Not Recited But Read Normally
-
AsSalaamu 'alaykum, peace everyone,
For those of us who treasure the Quran, for those who are learning Arabic I hope to find a reading of the Quran in Arabic only--even a few surahs! It is so difficult to learn or understand from recitations.
Anyone know of an existing recording of the Arabic Quran that is in a normal reading style?
If not, maybe there is someone who could devote a little time to this, an Arabic instructor on off-season, a retired person, or a stay at home parent. I have searched unsuccessfully online a dozen hours, for surahs or for only lists of audio Quranic vocabulary. Thankfully I found some wonderful programs to use in Arabic language study...
Thanks for time and thought @>-,-'--

There is a reading of the quran by JD Hall, came up when I searched for one.
http//www.audioquran.net/okuyanlar.asp?id=2
Might have an issue with the translation he's using but it is read normally without the recitation.
*if you meant just the recitation in a normal way, I'm not sure...I did come across one back in the day but don't have the links now.

Peace savage_carrot,
I am looking for Arabic-only audio--(I re-named the thread.) but yes, I love Mr. Hall like brother as I have listened to him for so many hours--at least the Malik translation he is reading has the word "Rabb" + a few others retained and it is all-English so it flows.

No issues willreadit, I didn't go by the title, just "It is so difficult to learn or understand from recitations." threw me off. My bad.
Anyone reading the thread now would have a pretty good idea of what you're looking for )

Hi Debbie,
It's strange that meet someone who complaining about same issue Lacking of a recording of authentic Arabic Quran in normal reading style. I've been searching for a while but it seems no one interested with this important issue at all. If I should able to listen in normal speaking style, that would be a great experiment for myself as wondering how it was sounding actually. Traditional Arabic recitations are suffering in this aspect in my opinion.
Peace.

i have tried to find that too,a reading only.with out the singing for i thought that tarteel would have a different meaning.
the closest i could get was sheikh Abdul Basit(mujawad),well how will i put it.it did serve the purpose, for it is slow.
try to experiment on that ,i am sure you would get the same result it is very similar to reading.but if you are looking for a quran with out tajweed well, that will not serve your purpose, for the quran was never given in written form even the books we have today are only of what some might think that it is a presentation of quran in arabic but it is not.the quran is an oral book with that said, then the oral way of saying those words are important too, that is how it was submitted.else we would of not had it.Allah will retain it in its original form.regardless of what happens.
thank you -

thank youHi,
This is what i meant exactly in previous message. Normal speaking style is Quran's original form which is not interested by any reciter. This simple fact is proving how things transformed from "actual" to "traditional" by the time.
Peace.

Peace y'all,
Someone on another forum mentioned just the idea (no plans) of doing podcasts (on Blog Talk Radio ?_?) of normally spoken/read Arabic Quran. I really look forward to it! Until something like that surfaces online...
Here is a recitaion by Mohammed Siddiq Al-Minshawi, my favorite. The link also provides torrent downloads.

remmember that the quran is a book orally transmitted and not in written form .
so we must adhere to the way the recitor recites.
but i do preffer tajweed for it is the slowest, and in the quran we are ordered to recite it in a slow rythmic tone. -

Why we must adhere to the way the reciter recites rather than the way of speaking style? Have you any evidence for confirming that Quran was first delivered in style of reciters doing today or normally speaking style like all prophets did in past.Peace.

oh yes exodus.
i have read in the quran that it must not be written.as for some speculations today we have fully written qurans every where.but from what i understand of what i heard when the quran is recited for i dont read it in its written form any more,is that we are forbiden to write it.
and i think tarteel is the way we should say it,and that is how it is today.
listen to every moratil.they all do tarteel.so Allah has truely kept it as it is,you can listen to it ,i have further scientific evidence too.
i will only go with tarteel as for reading of a book this is never quran. if we read the quran of a book then we are not doing sujud, and for sure we all have been misguided to what is sujud.quran can only be heard it can never be read of a book if it was then it is not quran.
sorry.

Salaam Dear All,
The following remarks are based on the difference of the meaning between two words, RATALA/reciting & QARA?A/reading.
SO, one very important point to keep in mind is that in The Qur?aan, ALLAAH, SWT, directs the Prophet, pbuh, to recite the The Qur?aan, vs. just reading it. See 734. The reason is that the verses of The Qur?aan have been revealed in recitation style vs. plain reading. See 2532. By the same token, that is why The Qur?aan is recited vs. being just read through the history regardless of geographical location.
Also, keep in mind that The Qur?aan was originally revealed NOT as a written, but as a verbal/oral scripture and NOT instantaneously, but gradually over a span of around 22, 23 years. The Prophet himself wrote the verses down right after their revelations as they were revealed through time and preserved them until his death.
At the time those around the Prophet memorized the verses of The Qur?aan. Then after more than two decades after the prophet?s death, they decided to arrange The Qur?aan into a book in order to send copies to new Muslim communities far away.
In spite of all this, for centuries, The Qur?aan was still being taught verbally/orally by memorizing, and the main reason was the rarity of literate people/scribes and also lack of convenient and efficient media/paper to write on. Then through time as the invention of better media became available, the written Qur?aan, among other books also became readily available.
Saying all that, the early written copies of The Qur?aan did not look anything close to what we have on hand today. There were no punctuations, written vowels, and even dots associated with the letters of the alphabet. These were invented and evolved through long periods of time.
Also, our analysis/interpretation of the verses of The Qur?aan MUST NOT be based on the written, but must be based on its Original verbal/oral form, in its ORIGINAL language.
We must be very careful and wary of the translations of The Qur?aan in other languages and always refer the translation to the ORIGINAL language. This is true about any language translated to another. The translation never communicates the meaning of the original language exactly the same.

Salaam dear Mohamad,
Can you tell us in what verse or verses in The Qur'aan it says that we are not to write it down!!!?
Peace,
Khalil -
it is in the quran ," those who write it and say that it is from allah while it is not from allah".
and it is stated in the quran that if Allah wanted he would of sent it down a book "qurtas" one you can touch with your own hands.i think the written form we have today means nothing ,neither any written form you have from any one,but an audio recording or some one reciting it would do.

Salaam Dear Mohamad,
1st, You did not answer my question. Please write down the chapter and verse numbers you claimed in The Qur'aan.
2nd, How do you explain the verse 255 in the Qur'aan. I quote it below.
(

Khalil -

this is your proof from the quran,if it was a book in written form then we would of had it unchanged ,but since it is in oral form then the written form is yet another conspiracy.

salamSalaam Dear Mohamad,
1st You?ve taken 279 out of context. It is not about The Qur?aan. It is about the corrupted/interpolated BIBLE, i.e. Old+New Testaments. Actually this verse is among the verses, 240 through 2123, in which The Qur?aan narrates part of the story of mainly Jews and also a little bit about the Christians.
2nd 67 does not forbid us to write down The Qur?aan. It says, ?Even if we had sent down to you a written paper book that they could touch it with their hands, the disbelievers would?ve said that, this is nothing but clear magic.?
3rd 276 says, ?And verily, you are being taught the Qur'?n from the One, All-Wise, All-Knowing.? It does not talk anything about the writing of The Qur?aan at all.
4th Again, you did not answer my question regarding 255. Let me answer it for you!
255,
And they say "Tales of the ancients, which he has written down, and they are dictated to him morning and afternoon."
The verse, i.e. 255, clearly informs us that the Prophet, pbuh, used to write down The Qur?aan with his own hands, and then afterwards he recited it for the people.
Now if the Prophet himself originally wrote the verses of The Qur?aan immediately after their revelation, then why you say that it is forbidden to write it!!!?
We must be very careful in dealing with The Word of GOD. We must be exact and precise. Otherwise we must keep silent and just listen. Please do not take me wrong. I am speaking regarding WORD of GOD only.
Peace,
Khalil -
yes khalil i see what you mean.
i see im wrong in context here.
you are write, but this is what the disbelievers said and not what was happening.they said that he has written it,
as for the previous ayas i mentioned it is true to be about the bible.and after looking at it further ,i see that you are right.
but it is not proof that the prophet ever wrote the quran.
he was only told to recite it and not write it down, and you have your proof from the quran ,ofcourse.
i think it should never be written khallil.for the written form is not the spken one.and that would make it something that is different from what came down on the prophet.
we might make it easier to have it in written form but that is not what we have been told to do my friend. in written form it is not from ALLAH while in in reading form it is from ALLAH. it is AL QURAN meaning someone is reciting it ,it does not exist with out a recitor.
salam khallil.
but still you are right the AYAs i put forward are not proof enough it is the whole understanding of the context of what Quran is.
salam khallil. -

Peace Debbie,
For those of us who treasure the Quran, for those who are learning Arabic I hope to find a reading of the Quran in Arabic only--even a few surahs! It is so difficult to learn or understand from recitations.
I think I have what you are looking for. Here you can listen to sura 1 and 95-114 in Arabic, recited without singing by a good friend of mine
http//hanif.de/download/audio/ayman95.mp3
Simply change the number of the sura in the web address to listen to the other suras.
Here it is more simple, but suras 95-99 are missing http//hanif.de/?p=2493
Enjoy!
