Peace be on all of you,
I am new to this website and new to this community. I have been reading a lot of the threads on various topics. So far, there are 2 things that I have noticed very much highly , things that stand out too much. One is negative one is positive.
Negative
I have seen many arguments going on for ages only for somebody to come and join after 50 posts and change the whole theory of the discussion by pointing out very basic simple things such as confusion between pronoun and verb !!!! This is just an example, but I think in trying to understand the Qur'an we should be more careful and not start following a theology or conducting a practice based on so little understanding of the language involved.
POSITIVE
You guys have surely impressed me, praise be to Allah. Even after and within a fierce debate, whenever someone rationally can prove his point even his opponent acknowledges that and investigates further and accepts the truth WHOLE-HEARTEDLY. You don't know how much I love that, because with the people that I have to interact and share thoughts in real life, it is near impossible to reason with them. No matter how many verse you quote, their hadith overrules your Qur'an quotes. brickwall
Love you guyz, nobody take anything personally and be offended because of the negative issue i just spoke about ( I will not provide links to any such examples in order to avoid tensions between me and the persons ). I love the diversity , how everyone of us go back to Qur'an so many times in every topic that we discuss. Our opinons may vary, I dont care, because I received the good message of my Lord telling me that he will not test my soul more than it can withstand ) So I wont be punished just because my intellect failed me, but Ignorance is something totally different from this

Well it wasnt a jump for me, it was totally fine for me, but from the point of view of my sunni friends and relatives it was a jump i guess. The reason it wasnt a jump for me is because I was not a muslim that actually cared enough to practice his faith, put his money where his mouth is. I was a total disgrace if I think about it now, I just hope the most high, the most merciful of all, Allah forgives me. When I started learning religions of the world and their scriptures, Quran alone was the natural way forward for me. I have long hairs and I play guitar, so I was already an abomination in the sunni world, after hearing what the Qur'an had to say on my artistic side, it was obvious for me to decided who is wrong and needs to change.@Edip
Thanks for the complement ) . When I was looking for a title, I just had to go with "Student of Allah", this is because I have learnt so much about religion in the past few years that contributed towards my betterment. My learning made me stronger but also, every time I learn something it shows me how little I knew before learning it So , I drop the arrogance and read in the name of our lord ) . I believe, as long as my intention is to seek the truth, Allah will guide me regardless of any hardship in the process, hence, my guru is Allah, and I am his student .Anyways, are you a code-19 believer ? I wanted to study about Rashad Khalifa. Do you know where I can find enough material to study about this man ? I am done watching the videos on youtube where Rashad is shown teaching his followers and talking about his point of view on islamic theology etc. I want to know more. )

I will send you an email to get access to the digital version of the book. I want to know many things about Rashad , unfortunately there isnt much information. I found some news reports of his possible assassin.
And as far as code-19 goes, I can not accept anything that I can not understand using my knowledge from experience and academic training. This doesnt mean I give myself the right to be ignorant, thats a BIG NO NO !! But I am a strong skeptic so I test things well before I move into it, there should be nothing to worry about if its a miracle from Allah , since I am seeking for his guidance and willing to change. Now this doesnt mean I allow myself to be so open minded that my brain falls out I maintain a balance based on pure rationality.
Lets ask Allah to make life for us

I dont find it productive to show my superior intellectual ability and prove others wrong. Though when i was a lot younger and wet behind the ears, I admit to having the urge. But the Quran provides me with solace. Thats all i need.

I am student of Allah. We use the numeric values of each english alphabet (example a=1, b=2 , z=26 ) in my username and divide them finally by 19 to obtain what Allah wants to reveal as his hidden rating for me

lol, you really had to point that out ? Now listen to my point of view. Edip may think of me the way his brain makes him think of me. Even if Edip thinks that I am the bastard son of a bastard who is a bastard son of another bastard, does it change who I am ? No. I like freedom of speech and thoughts, he is entitled to that I believe.
You quote a verse where Allah asks me to worry about my own neck. How does that stop me from reasoning with people ? One must understand the revelation as a whole instead of cherry picking verse. Allah commanded me to inform people , I can not remove the disease from their hearts. My job is to deliver the message in a cool fashion.
"Invite (all) to the way of thy Lord, with wisdom and beautiful preaching, and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious!"The verse you quoted, has a context, this verse I love because Allah is not putting the burden on me for other people's ignorance. Its funny how you didnt bother to get the context, let me give it a bit , you will notice that Allah is supporting my approach of educating people and assuring me burden free responsibility
Verse 104 When it is said to them "Come to what Allah has revealed; come to the Messenger" They say "Enough for us are the ways we found our fathers following." what! even though their fathers were void of knowledge and guidance?
Verse 105 O People who Believe! Fear for your own souls; he who has strayed cannot harm you in the least if you are on guidance; towards Allah only you will all return - He will then inform you of what you used to do.Dont worry, I give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that you did not hide the context out of mischief but as sheer ignorance.
I find it necessary unlike you , to share my intellect if its superior, because peer review debates increase knowledge. I find it necessary to intervene with my point of view because I have been reading the Qur'an (read the above 3 verses again and again). If I don't share my findings, I am standing dumb like an idiot when people jump into fire. Ever bothered to read Chapter 103 of Qur'an ? Let me share it with you

and of Patience and Constancy.Ever wondered why Allah says you cant succeed without the criteria set in verse 3 ? You say you don't find it productive to show your superior intellectual ablity and prove others wrong, isnt that both unscientific and non-quranic when you see people saying the earth is flat and you dont find it productive to share truth (as verse 3 says) ????
