    Assalaamu Aleykum brothers and sisters!

I am part of this Facebook group called ANSAR Alliance of New Shahadas and Reverts. Been part of it since my conversion to Islam. Anyway, I brought up hadiths and sunnahs and asked if they'd reject me if I rejected the hadiths and sunnahs.

Well, one of them got very defensive all of a sudden and said "brother your a sunni muslim you have to follow every sunnah and you can not reject the hadiths muhammad ( SAW ) said those who do not believe in my teachings ( the sunnah and the hadith ) is indeed on the wrong path. hope this helps".

Now I know that traditional Islam is false, for a fact. Most followers of traditional Islam associate themselves as being with a specific group or sect of Muslims. And this directly goes against God's statement in the Qur'an 6159.

Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) would be appalled at this I would think.

I am in no way passing judgement on the individuals who follow the sects. I am simply showing one of the flaws in their theology. God will judge whether or not they make it into the Hereafter based on His terms.

May God give us peace and understanding.

They just follow what they are told by religious authorities. Anyways always remember that no Sunni will accept a Koranist, at least not now. They see our views as strange and radical. If there is more of us then it might change. And we are growing everyday.

        Stop using bullshit labels.

Stop calling yourself "Muslim" on an English website. Stop calling yourself "Sunni".

        You are just YOU.

When you claim "I am Sunni Muslim" and behave like a "Koranist", a True Sunni Muslim will get very angry and think "Who the hell does this kafir think he is trying to redefine My religion?" and he is perfectly correct in doing that.

If you claim "I am Bob", then behave like a "Koranist", then he will think "there's Bob being Bob again, let me worry about my own connection to ALLAH instead of getting angry over some other fool" and he will mostly go about his business.

People do not like their idols being threatened under any cost. Leave them to it.

Nice quote.. and it's very true.. something which doesn't change from the day of abraham..
And the reason was obvious, because they know that their idols cannot do anything... that's why they need to act to defend their idols..

          Salam / Peace

obviously some people will welcome you others will not..

you can't expect everyone to love you esp if you're saying well i'm ok with islam but not your beliefs. they're going to want to "guide" you.

most people have flaws, even us.

            peace

              Exactly so.

Truth has consciousness supreme, truth is immortal. It needs no defense, its very presence is the strongest offence of all. All things are powerless to resist truth.

Falsehood can never be reality. A mirage has no power to quench your thirst and no power does it have over you except the power you give to it.

              Peace
