Which is the correct order in which to read the Koran, chronologically or in the order of revelation?

Whenever I research a topic to learn about my deen, I have to look into multiple chapters and verses without any specific order. So, never found the order of revelation to be relevant. Think about it like ,mmm, may be the bill of rights, or constitution. Even though its organised in an order, the wisdom is spread throughout the book and one needs cross referencing within the Qur'an to try and understand it. The order of compilation provides contextual meaning to many things, like stories or phrases made of multiple verses. Other than that, there is no specific way of reading. If you read all of it, it should be fine because you can cross reference and draw logical conclusions from the relevant ayaats.

If you assume the quran is revealed in one order then you make assumptions.
Reading it backwards using that same order reveals a totally new vantage point that was already there but hard to see because of the idea that it "has an order".

What do you mean ? Like Chapter X, Verse 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 that way ? Never tried reading it backwards, but the very idea sounds weird

Although it will only reveal new things if you thought a specific order meant something. Whether it does actually mean something is beyond my knowledge.
Just as if you used to read Makkan verses after Medina then came to read them in any order it will demolish your preconceptions.
The content of al-quran does not change either way. Just your perception.

Salam,
When as a child I used to recite like a parrot, i noticed the makkan/medina labels. Never knew what they were. After growing up and starting to study religion and deen, understanding that hadiths were never even authorised, I came to know that people have labelled verses and chapters in many different ways. I personally don't know how they labelled the Global position of the landings of the ayaats.
