Salamalaikum all. I was exposed to the message of Submission about 3 years ago and have been practicing ever since. God has changed my life, Praise be to God. I am kind of wondering what is the differences between Free Minds as opposed to those that are followers of the Submission that is viewed at Masjidtucson website? If anyone would like to help me to understand this I would be appreciative.

Submission.org is based on the works of Rashad Khalifa.
in short terms they believe the "Quran Alone", but nevertheless say that there is 5 salats (24435 unit), and the zakat is 2.5%. This is however is not authorized in the Quran.You can read my story on my journey to submission http//free-minds.org/forum/index.php?topic=9602898.0

I would say be wary of Submitters group. I understand they can speak for themselves here. There are quite a few of them here, all nice people.
However, there is a key contention in that they state two verses (last 2 of chapter 9) from the quran are insertions that belong there.
Should their claim be true, then so be it, I accept totally that I am incorrect and I ask the creator to forgive my misgivings.
On the free-minds side of things, this place is like quranist purgatory. We all mostly come here baffled by years of hadiths and other things, as if we just surfaced from a deep underwater dive and breathed air for the first time. A lot of people on here are educated pretty well but there is open questioning. There is not much agreement on certain things because of their nature but we all agree to seek the truth here, it is an open discussion place.
That is the difference between "Free minds" and "Submitters" IMO. We are all submitters to the creator of all, nonetheless.

Thanks everyone. I guess maybe I should begin reading some of the past threads. Although OPF, I am a little baffled by your comment. I had never heard any submitter claim 128 and 129 of Sura 9 actually belonged there. In fact the very notion of disagreeing with Rashad would not be a behavior I would be used to seeing from most submitters. Once again thank you all.
