    Peace,

I have come to the conclusion that all we (aka I) need to do is keep our hearts soft and let God do the talking.

What moments in life have softened your heart?

    Thanks!

      Hey OPF!

I guess as soon as the very notion of following the Qur'an alone and letting go of all the excess baggage surrounding the faith was, for me, like stripping away chainmail from my soul. I was so grateful that the religion I was born into did not, does not, justify death penalties for blasphemy or apostasy. There is love, tolerance and grace to be found in the faith and I was relieved that I had finally found it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still super irritable, especially when people condescend me. I've had that for many years of my life, and it's grown tiresome very quickly. But yes, I would say the 'revelation' of following the Qur'an alone softened my heart.

(Also , surfing! Every time I get into the water I forget everything, it's fantastic. Nothing seems to matter when you're surrounded by oceans and beaches!)

      How about you?

        Peace,

To be honest I should have started off with my ?0.02 but I couldn't think of any at the time. Well, when I was in my early teens I went on holiday to my poverty stricken home country. Going from the Western world to the 3rd world when you are older and able to comprehend the suffering far more alone is a very bittersweet thing. People come up to your vehicle begging for subsistence during slow traffic, and you can see the scars of destitution on their persons. This one particular frail man who didn't seem very literate came up to me and asked me for rice, as a child would ask his mother, so simply, so innocent yet so sad was the tone in his voice. I could not help him as a child and nobody around was inclined to help because it was so widespread but seeing someone beg from the heart and be refused is sharply imprinted in my psyche, for better or worse.

But I am thinking more along the lines of repeatable things than random encounters. Generally watching the God-connection in all things, realising we are cast from the same mould; that every human is acting in accordance with their nature so we are all innocent/naive in a way, and God encompasses us. Seeing the innocent nature behind people... The excess baggage removal you describe too, exactly what with the apostasy. Those little wrong words of "he's a kafir" can turn into vehement hate when you have the group mind of labelling people indiscriminately.

I am more talking about things where you can feel a flow of energy in your heart, things being unblocked and released, you feel noticeably cleaner. Forgiving people that have harmed me emotionally especially does it. But it has to be a real forgiving, you have to be fully aware why you let go. Generally then, letting go of hate/harm with intent.

Amongst meditators experiences like this are widespread, you can feel energy moving all through your body. So if you meditate on something you don't understand, you feel energy in your mind moving, unblocking. Or if it's an emotional thing, it's in the heart. Or if it's your belly, then you go get some KFC p

        Stillness be with you

Also try holding a toddler in your chest.. feel his/her heartbeat against yours... a strange surge of peaceful feeling might engulf you..

          Salam / Peace

I used to be superparanoid about the new world order, but eventually realized that I needed that stimulus in order to begin my journey back to the Infinite Creator. This softened my heart because it made me realize how things that I might perceive as "bad" actually play a role in the Greater Good.

Do not be afraid of the word "chakra" if you don't like it, all I mean is a centre of experience. In my investigations the heart chakra is basically the central axis of symmetry through which ALLAH's grace flows through the body. A blocked heart chakra will prevent knowledge of the higher aspects of your consciousness from flowing in because they encounter a counterbalancing force arising from the unfulfilled lower centres.

When the heart chakra is unblocked, sexual energy is no longer confined to be assigned to the eye that wanders and transgresses, it may be channeled straight to ALLAH to whom all praise is due. As a result of the eye no longer wandering and wavering, impure thoughts may slowly be removed.

The sexual center is connected to the speech center and the speech center goes two ways - the higher merciful/compassionate reasoning/knowingness of the forebrain and the lower swearing/rage/fear/hate primal reptilian center driven by the amygdala.

Now the heart is mediated by the breath and the breath is connected to everything on earth, for it is one breath. With each breath you take, you purchase time to produce judgements/process observations, and these can either be goodly judgements, impure judgements, evil judgements. When evil judgements and impure judgements remove their hold, all that remains is the judgement of ALLAH almighty, HSN. Any resistance you have to the judgement of ALLAH supreme comes from holding impure/evil energies in your heart (aka "rust&quot.

                Peace
