Where in quran does it say you have to make up "missed salat"?

Does this rule apply only to Muslims? What about someone who has truly converted at the age of 95 and has say, 3 days left to live?

Missed "Salat" prayers answer from the Quran
      http//www.masjidtucson.org/submission/practices/salat/missedsalat.html
and youssef4342, which clergy do you belong to?... whatever

Keeping in mind that God tells us to Retaliate evil with Good, i will tell you,
      Peace God sumbiter!
God gives us an example of Solomon as he missed his prayer. It does not say that he made it up! This is logical because salat is like a train that leaves right on spot, you cannot be a minute late or early (keeping in mind that now with our technological advances, we can calculate sun rise/sunset/noon by the minute)

Godsumbitter, please do not be discouraged because i did not agree with your ideology. Seek the approval of God instead of me. Take this advice from me by criticising me you only hurt yourself. No soul bears the wrong of others. Please keep cool, and open-minded. I've been through many situations. I was a unbeliever of God, i was gone far astray. But I think God overlooked my negativeness and saw my positivness. Ask God for his forgivennes, and guidence. For God is ever merciful!

Please now, "Those who show goodness, goodness will be shown to them" (1630 & 3910 & 4223 & 5331)

hahahaha OPF, with remarks like this, you really remind me how humans always try to outreason and outdo God and His System, and how cleaver people can be sometimes!...

So strange that God did not have all those exceptions and anomalies in mind... rotfl

this neck topic is quite fun, and a real mirror of the absurdity of bodily worship to whatever...
should I remind all that Allah is not a deity, but a Reality Principle of Harmonious Truth?

        PS
by the way, do you all know that any regular religious practice is in fact a psychological obessesive-complusory dis-order?
It is a variant of neurotcally behavioral compensation for important emotional lack...

Thank you youssef4342, you are really nice!

I agree with you that it is good to be nice...

I just wonder how is it possible that with so many nice people around, the mankind brought itself where it is?

Whatever the humans could have destroyed, they destroyed earth, climate, bodies, culture, religion, art, politics...et al.
All and whatever humans ever touched, they so nicely disfigured and destroyed, (save a few examples of course...)
Jesus came, look what they did with Christianity, Moses came, look at Judaism and sects, Quran came, just look the quantity of Muslims in billions what they did with it and what kind of Islam they created? I suppose they were also trying to be nice? no?

So, I am quite distrusful of nice people, specially clergy, which is ALWAYS so NICE...

            Peace,

Nowhere have I seen it say "you need to make up missed prayer".

Nor is it God I am trying to outreason nor his system, both of which totally encompass me before anything else. So who am I trying to outdo, that is the question. To rephrase that question, who is your God? What is your highest reality?

Please be careful with matters like salat especially if/when you have no certain knowledge. It might be that you miss out on the truth while you are unaware, that's very dangerous for your soul. Don't discount any possibility

You understand? If the stain on your heart can drop you to hellfire, who is to say it cannot stop you seeing salat for what it truly is? We must let go of all preconceptions to find the masjid al-haram. Even those preconceptions we have made after realising the old ones were folly. And the preconceptions that arise from that repeated too, ad infinitum. Refer to my signature

              Thank you OPF

              Now you are talking!!!

Please be careful with matters like salat especially if/when you have no certain knowledge. It might be that you miss out on the truth while you are unaware, that's very dangerous for your soul. Don't discount any possibility

It is exactly what I am worried about, and what I am afraid about!!!
Believe me, I am quite in an agony since I read that book by Safar about Salat and Rhamadan, and I really do not know what to think..., and I do not want to miss something...
I was VERY diligent and completely serious doing Salat and Fasting and Wudu and all of it on time and well!

Now I am really afraid to miss something, and I implore someone taches me and explains to me, so that I should know for sure.
I accepted Rashad Khalifa because he brought mathematical miracle of the Quran to mankind. And I accepted his teachings in appendices and in his lectures, and for me it was good version of Islam.
But then came the book by Safar, and now I am totally confused. Quran says nothing, (I mean I do not trust translations and I don't know Arabic, and I don't want to follow any person, guru or anyone).
Is it so difficult for God to communicate such an important matter to us???

And please OPF, do not say or give impression that you know some important thing or secret if you do not! Thank you.

well with there being no mention of making it up, I tend to miss the morning ones cause I can't wake up. I always make them up as soon as I'm up, but now I wonder if it is worth it at all by this logic? Should I stop making them up then? what should I do and I can't wake up by alarm, nothing wakes me up except my mothers call and she won't wake me up either.

                    Peace,

                    I know the following

                    I came from nothing
I was free of all knowledge
I entered this world as a human and began to process knowledge
In doing so I slipped from the state of innocence/purity as desires arose
All of this is contained in something - ME, I am that I am, and this, this ALONE is all I have ever known, all I can concievably trust, this is my ultimate security, my ultimate love, my sure reality

This used to be my solipsist nightmare. But then I realised what I call "Me" is actually God himself (the Seer, the Hearer), not actually me that I am, bound to a human body (that which rises to the throat upon death). He is seeing and hearing "OPF" who is a part of his vast creation rather than OPF seeing and hearing his own creation (solipsism/atheism).

Therefore as far as it goes I am "the master of my fate, captain of my soul". That is the "important thing or secret" that you may think I am alluding to. So the only thing that remains to investigate is, what is the Sure Reality that no preconceptions can explain? Who am I, truly?

"(I mean I do not trust translations and I don't know Arabic, and I don't want to follow any person, guru or anyone)"

You have one more thing to let go of yourself (your body, your past, your evil, your desires, your good)

"Is it so difficult for God to communicate such an important matter to us???"

Exactly as difficult as it is for you to open your eyes - no more and no less. Let's put it this way People have been performing the "salat" and fasting in "Ramadan" since the revelation of the quran. Do you really think that when all these crappy innovations came out that ALL the people on the planet threw away God's message and suddenly there were no actual muslims but just people who claimed to be? Rather Muhammad the postman delivered, and he delivered splat bang on time. Special delivery (5417), who then will sign on the dotted line and declare that they truly have received this package?

Look Aryan Warrior, I used to ask God/Allah to help me and to wake me up for my dawn pryer. And I used not to miss a single one! Even being on the seaside or holidays, always heard the alarm... with His help.
Just ask and implore God to help you!

There is nothing "Sufi" about it. All of this is derived totally from al-quran as far as I am aware. It may resemble Sufi teachings but that is because they too were aware. Aware of what! Aware of what? Aware of? Aware? Aware. Yet even the Sufis fell to their preconceptions, nobody is pure until they are purified truly. And where can we know for certain that we are talking to pure beings? Only in paradise!

The majority is not what I am talking about. I am saying there has always been a portion of people who "established the salat & zakat" and fasted. Minority, majority, it matters not. We see in 1075 that one can slw without being aware of it. So what then is it?

Remember two things. One, you are ALL that you know and there is only one who knows all. Yet there are many of "you" each with their own character and right/wrong.

Splat bang = with exact precision, like a water balloon to the head

                                    Peace,

When you skip a meal, do you make it up?

(Not a rhetorical question, answer it!)

                                    I do actually XD

Yes Aryan Warrior , just repent, you can not make it up.

Alright, but in terms of repentance I feel that what if they start to lose sincerity as I feel that it will happen a lot /

Now why do you make it up?

Let's look at our purpose to see

                                      {557}
And the Firmament (samaa) has He raised high, and He has set up the Balance (of Justice),
                                      {8}
In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance.
                                      {9}
So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance.

So why do you make up the missed meal? To establish the balance. Your bodyweight stays constant when you make up the missed meals, that is the establishment of the balance. Even when you have missed a meal without knowing, you will subconsciously make it up. We can always eat double time. But can you turn the sun back on itself and make it go up and down for every single salat you missed?

Salat is not something that you can miss and make up. You miss it, it's gone. Nor can you go back in time and undo all your bad deeds. Yet surely can you not undo your bad deeds right now by doing good deeds that overpower them? So the best one can do is turn and turn again in future until one acquires an intimate connection with He.

You see OPF, the very reasonable and good arguments R. Khalifa said about Salat and Ramadan made me accept it all wholeheartedly and convert completely to Islam and do it all the right way. His best arguments are that our soul grows with Salat, especially the dawn one, and I know that Muslims are the healthiest on the planet especially because of bowing and prostrating as the head-neck relationship is so very important. Ramadan fast is also very good for the body and internal organs and very healthy. So nothing mystical, but quite reasonable and healthy about those practices. So, for me it was just very logical that God would prescribe good things to aid us in our spiritual growth.

But then come the distortions and traditions and peoples lies etc.
And anyway, who is R. Khalifa to say that he knows that even before Muhammad those practices were such and alive and they came to us? Was he there? As Krishnamurti once wisely said, the first thing to do if one wants to find Truth, is NOT to follow people or any person.
I was not born Muslim, I grew up in Judaic and Christian environment, but I accepted Quran and Islam as God Himself guided me because I was sincerely searching and searching and crying for Him.

My only wish is that God helps me to increase my love for Him.
My only desire is to be the dust under His Foot!

                                          Thank you OPF!
It is just the question whether we should do the Salat the usual way as Khalifa explained it or not? Phisically I mean, and on time?

                                          Peace GODsubmitter!

I believed in Rashad khalifa's message of upholding the Quran alone and not the Hadith! I believed teh Miracle of 19, and as proven on this site, that the number 19 has basic in the formulation of the Quran. (e.g many important versus in the Quran are made of 19 letters) (http//www.quran-islam.org/main_topics/quran/miracle_of_the_quran/great_new_discovery_%28P1367%29.html)

One disconcerning fact is that even the Submitter do not uphold the Quran alone!
There are only 3 prayers cited in the Quran, by name, as well as in the previous scriptures.
[Also there is no 2.5% charity in the Quran. It is left open as the "extra/afw" that we have!
What's sad is that Even in one of Rashad's videos (big debate), he states that "If i tell you to do anything that is not in the Quran, DO NOT DO IT!" Thus Rashad's message, is what should be followed, not his human self!

See number of salats in the Quran
