Peace everyone. My last username was Peki. I don't want my username to be anything other than my real name wich is Ervin.
For those who don't know me I am 32 year old male who lives in Melbourne who has been confused about what to believe in. I was a person who didn't care much about religion till just before I got sick with schizophrenia. I started by looking into Budhism, then I looked into Suni Islam, then deism. There were times when i thought that maybe the bible was true and in the end it came down to Quran alone.
Hardest thing for me to believe in the past was that there is hell. I supose I wasn't big on justice. Sometimes I think that I was blind because of the bad things I have done in the past, so I supose that the idea that there is no hell was self serving. I have done four years in prison. I haven't been punished by the law for everything i have done but they got me for the most serious stuff. Anyway, that's the past. I supose that now I should pray for forgiveness and be a good Muslim and I supose its my duty to communicate with others like your selves.

There
s lots of myths around schizophrenia it seems. Im not going to go into that though, what I am wondering is if you have read my discussions on paradox-meditation?I am theorizing that spirits may form where belief in a god, or gods are mentally.
However recognizing monotheism, heaven and hell, good behaviour is a step in the right direction.
Particulary recognizing the transcendent nature of God, that God is a paradox.This trancendence can be seen in Gods infinite power, where infinite is the limit, and he cannot be finite. But infinite power is ofcourse that too. (And one can go on, that finite cannot be infinte and so on..) A PARADOX.
Furthermore, this paradox is our own nature. In verse 329 ones sees that God is the spirit that gives mind.
And this is the creator of space and time.
I don
t know if you have been into esoteric religion before, but its definately something you should think about.One can meditate on this

I'm your age, and like you my rocky road to faith brought me past a few mental health professionals along the way. Submission to God is what cures me. Perhaps the same is true for you.
Hell was hard for me to accept as well. I think it got easier after acknowledging the bad things I've done and recognizing that I surely deserve to burn for my transgressions, and only God's grace can save me. I think this is true for a lot of us. God is most merciful and compassionate, which is a great comfort to know.may God forgive the believers.

I am actually 33, not 32 and yeas I used to think that i was definitely going to burn but I supose we still have time to change and Corect any mistakes that we can. But God definitely has good reasons to mislead me considering my past. But I hope he has mercy. My understanding is that you can repent from any sin as long as its not on your"deathbed"

Although I retain my birth name, I was gifted with the name "Abdul-Hadi" by a Sufi friend in Afghanistan. I don't believe that it is necessary to accept a new name upon embracing Islam--but I like the name. It means "servant of the Guide." Among muslims Abdul-Hadi is my name--although the name and face aren't known together much outside of Kabul.

Life's a rocky road for many; you're not the only one here with a history. We all weak in the flesh brother.
The Quran says "Say to my servants who have transgressed against their own selves, Do not despair from God's mercy, God forgives all sins..."
As you pointed out, the only exception is doing sins till your deathbed and also shirk (worhsipping or idolising other things).
Praise to God who guided us to this path, we are the few. We need to make the most of this guidance.

You can repent shirk acording to my understanding of the following verses
Sahih International And those who do not invoke with Allah another deity or kill the soul which Allah has forbidden , except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that will meet a penalty.
