I am actually 33, not 32 and yeas I used to think that i was definitely going to burn but I supose we still have time to change and Corect any mistakes that we can. But God definitely has good reasons to mislead me considering my past. But I hope he has mercy. My understanding is that you can repent from any sin as long as its not on your"deathbed"

      Peace

        Greetings and Peace, all group

Although I retain my birth name, I was gifted with the name "Abdul-Hadi" by a Sufi friend in Afghanistan. I don't believe that it is necessary to accept a new name upon embracing Islam--but I like the name. It means "servant of the Guide." Among muslims Abdul-Hadi is my name--although the name and face aren't known together much outside of Kabul.

        peace

        ~Abdul-Hadi

                Dear Ervin,

Life's a rocky road for many; you're not the only one here with a history. We all weak in the flesh brother.

The Quran says "Say to my servants who have transgressed against their own selves, Do not despair from God's mercy, God forgives all sins..."

As you pointed out, the only exception is doing sins till your deathbed and also shirk (worhsipping or idolising other things).

Praise to God who guided us to this path, we are the few. We need to make the most of this guidance.

                Take it easy

                Usamah

You can repent shirk acording to my understanding of the following verses

Sahih International And those who do not invoke with Allah another deity or kill the soul which Allah has forbidden , except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that will meet a penalty.

                    2569

                    to top

Sahih International Multiplied for him is the punishment on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein humiliated -

                    2570

                    to top

Sahih International Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work. For them Allah will replace their evil deeds with good. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.

                    2571

to top Sahih International And he who repents and does righteousness does indeed turn to Alla

Yes, that's correct. I meant shirk maintained until death. My statement was ambiguous.
