Is listening to Qur'an recitation in Arabic beneficial if one doesnt speakarabic

Selam everyone. I have recently bought a Quran from the Sunni source and with it I got the cd of the recitation of the Qur'an in Arabic. To be honest with you I enjoy listening it even though I don't understand it. I only speak Montenegrin and English so I don't understand Arabic. however there must be a reason why Allah s.w.t.a. picked Arabic. I supose Allah doesn't do anything without a reason, so I supose by using that kind of reasoning I am starting to think that its beneficial.
Anyway, I would like to hear what the rest of you think. So, is it beneficial to listen to the recitation in Arabic if you don't understand it?

It would be as beneficial as listening to the recitation of Tao Te Ching in (Ancient) Chinese.
Assuming that you also don't understand (Ancient) Chinese.
Or
Listening to the recitation of Peshita in Aramaic.

Beneficial in the sense that it will make you come closer to God? I would say no.
For your spiritiuality, calmness, and all the wordly things in life. Sure, why not? If it makes you tranquil why not use it? Some people find "balance" and "tranquility" by listening to nature, the wind moving through the trees. Some people listen to whales singing. So if a recitation of the Quran in arabic gives you this, by all means use it.
The reason Allah picked an arab speaking prophet to sign the deal can never be understood by us mere humans. The arabs of course think it is because they have the "best" language, as a non-arab I beg to differ......When I hear arabs speak it sounds to me they need to remove the flem in their throats, but when I do hear the Quran being recited in song I find it very beautiful. I know if the Quran had been revealed in my language it would have not soundes as well when reciting....So anyways who knows? What we do know is that Allah does not have a language, and that is the first and foremost to remember.

When I hear arabs speak it sounds to me they need to remove the flem in their throats,

All semites speaks like that... have you heard somebody conversed in Hebrew?And oddly enough the 'flem' sounds softened when they recite the tanakh too..

I think it is VERY beneficial!
First of all, I also do not speak Arabic at all, but started listening to recitations of Quran in Arabic, and after almost a year or more, I started UNDERSTANDING few words, and making some sense and context.
I agree with you that Allah didn't choose Arabic for no reason.By the way the Quranic Arabic is not the same as modern spoken Arabic!
I also enormously enjoy listening to Torah and Tehillim in Hebrew.
