Hi you Guys. I want to convert to Islam. And to follow just the Qur'an. I hope Allah will lead me to the better path.

I want to ask you brothers and sisters how i should say Shahadah? Without saying any prophets name.

    Thank you!

        Greetings and Peace, all group

@TheTigerwanttobe Have you considered AQ 2131?

2131 When his Lord said to him "Submit," he said "I submit to the Lord of the worlds."

There is also this article posted on FM...http//www.free-minds.org/true-testimony

May ALLAH see fit to grant us all useful knowledge.

        peace

          Peace Tiger,

There are no 'shahada' in the Quran.
The shahada is the sunni's equivalent of the judaism 'shema'.

The introduction of shahada perhaps originated from the 'jewish convert' who would like to maintain their habit of regularly reciting the 'shema' as part of their daily prayer service.

          The 'shema' is the following

"Shema Yisrael Adonai eloheinu Adonai ehad. "
Hear O Israel, The Lord is our God The Lord is one.

Although originally it was written in Deutoronomy 64 as
Shema Yisrael, YHVH Eloheinu YHVH echad.
But due to 'jewish tradition' of not saying YHVH, they replace it with Adonai

The next line of the shema is
"Barukh shem kvod malkhuto la olam vaed"
Blessed is the name of His Glorious Majesty forever and ever.

And usually after that they recite the Asseret Ha Divrot (Ten Commandments).

The "Shema" does not contain any mention to any prophet name, including Moses.

Perhaps this is considered as 'weakness' by the sunnis priest/scholar/ulema, and as thus for their own version of shema; they put a 'testimony to a prophet'. And voila.. the shahadah was born..

          Salam / Peace

            Salaam brother Tiger,

welcome to the forum and Islam .

My understanding is there is not particular shahada to be a Muslim or Momin but you can say it later anytime / always as follows

            318
318 Allah bears witness that there is no god except He, as do the angels, and those with knowledge, He is standing with justice. There is no god except He, the Noble, the Wise.

People with knowledge also bear witness that "There is no got except Allah, the Noble, the Judge" but there is not condition to bear this witness at the time of conversion.

            Another example

            7117
7117 And We inspired Moses "Throw down your staff;" and it swallowed what they invented.

            7118
7118 Thus the truth was set, and what they did was made of no effect.

            7119
7119 They were thus defeated there and then, and they turned in disgrace.

            7120
7120 And the magicians went down prostrating.

            7121
7121 They said "We believe in the Lord of the worlds."

The magicians did not bear any shahada but they fallen down prostrating and SAID "We believe in the Lord of the worlds".

May Allah bless you with all happiness in your life and strong eimaan brother.

May Allah guide us all to His true path pr
