Will the believers also go to hell?
-
Salam,
I had a discussion with some people who also follow quran alone on facebook where someone came with the following verse
Except whom your Lord has given mercy, and for that He created them. But the word of your Lord is to be fulfilled that, "I will surely fill Hell with Al-Jinn and Al-Ins all together(ajma'een)."
He has translated 'ajma'een' to 'all together' and I want to know if this is the correct translation. the word ajma'een is also used in the following verse
Indeed, those who disbelieve and die while they are disbelievers - upon them will be the curse of Allah and of the Mal'ikah (in the heavens) and the people (on earth), all together (ajma'een).
again ajma'een translated to all together, but does that makes sence? will the curse of all humanity be upon them? the disbelievers are also part of the people on earth wich means they will curse themself so that doesn't make sence at all.Does ajma'een means all together or just together?
Hope someone can clear this up. thanksPeace

I?m not an expert in translation but from what I know both translations work. If you're unsure about translations you can send a private message to Layth or Edip Yuksel. Both of them are pretty good translators.
I don't understand what you mean by ?will the curse of all humanity be upon them?? since the verse is self explanatory.
11119 Except whom your Lord has mercy upon; and for that He has created them. The word of your Lord came true "I will fill hell with the Jinn and the humans together!"
11119 Except those on whom your Lord will bestow His grace (for working toward the noble objective of unity). And for this He created them. Those who defy (this command) will fulfill the Word of your Lord, "Surely, I shall fill Hell with the nomad and urban mankind all together."
Whether you say ?all together? or just ?together? it's the same thing. Jinn and humans(the unappreciative ones) will be in the same hell. And no the curse of all humanity will not be upon them since every person in hell will get what he or she has earned. No one gets punish for the sins of others.
325 How shall it be when We gather them on the day in which there is no doubt; every person shall receive what it has earned, and they will not be wronged.
Peace,
Kevin.

thnx, that's what I think as well but the guy claimes even the righteous ones will go to hell, so whole humanity including the prophets because it says 'all together' only he claimes even if they are in it it won't affect them. But it defeats the purpose going to hell without its affect right.

I think I know where he got that idea. If you read Sura 1970-72 it says everyone(including the righteous) will see hell in the hereafter when we are resurrected but we won't experience any harmful effects (we will be saved). The righteous they will 'pass by it' or 'see' hell prior to being saved.
Quran A Reformist Translation
1970 Then, it is We who are best aware of those who deserve to be burnt therein.
1971 Every single one of you must pass by it. This for your Lord is a certainty that will come to pass.
1972 Then We will save those who were righteous, and We leave the wicked in it on their knees. You can check out other translations to get a better idea of what's being said in 1970-72

Their thinking is Erroneou i believe because- The almighty before states that he will admit "MIN" = 'FROM',
- Ajma3een does not neccissarily mean All of Humanity nor all of the Jinns, it can mean a group of people, (i.e Jam3aan = 2 groups)
- How do you explain the people who are already in heaven? (At the time of his death) he was told, ?Enter Paradise" He said, ?Oh, I wish my people knew!" "That my Lord has forgiven me, and made me honorable." (Quran 3626-7)

Actually, It depends on how they believe. It doesn't make any sense If someone call him/herself as a believer. God states that many of humankind and jinns were created for Hell. This is not related with population of religions. An african tribal who doesn't know anything about sacred books and prophets but do good in life as honest can leave behind a muslim who spend a life within islamic rules in attitude of just "following rules".
7179.And certainly We have created for hell many of the jinn and the men -- they have hearts wherewith they understand not, and they have eyes wherewith they see not, and they have ears wherewith they hear not. They are as cattle; nay, they are more astray. These are heedless ones.
