Newbie questions

Just posted a message on the 'how I came to God alone' section. I'm new here. I've been hanging around for a while though, reading various posts. Last night I was up way past my bedtime reading the post about Pharoah. I'm intriguied, but one question is if Pazuzu's posts are true and the whole Egypt saga is misplaced, how does this 'fact' change the status quo if recognised? (sorry if I'm being really thick) But we all know the maxim that the victors dictate history. My brain is fuzzy with tiredness, but after these 1000's of years, who will admit to such a massive lie?
People/countries/companies/organisations (you name it) who have the most to gain/lose and have invested heavily into something will go to the ends of the earth to make sure the scenario they want plays out. (not sure where my thoughts are going with this thread)
Anyways, peace and good night!

Salam.. katyahana..
It wouldn't change anything..
Let's say Moses stories was not actually in Egypt yet.. it's actually in China... that shall not change anything as well..The 'israel-palestine' land problem is 'over-rated'.. and it relies on a fallacious notion of 'homeland' due to sudden surge of 'nationalism' at the the beginning of 20th century. Once people who are living there agree that both zionism and arab-nationalism is a fallacy and agree to live together in peace.. (And also both kremlin and washington agree to stay away) that problem shall be easily resolved.
There are much more dire humanity problems than the 'israel-palestine' problem happening on other part of the world which doesn't receive proper world attention.
Salam / Peace

Salaams
As Muslims we need to always be concerned with the truth, even though one lie revealed may not make a noticeable impact on the greater scheme of things, as God is Al Haqq (the Truth) and is indeed concerned with establishing the truth. Accepting a lie will affect your whole attitude and your striving for righteousness. tempt
Look at how much confusion is being spread today, like for instance that the sexes are the same and only socialising makes a man a man and a woman a woman. See how the lie of the white man's supremacy lead to the evils of colonialism, and see how the lie about Gaddafi being ready to bomb his own people lead to the loss of thousands of lives as well as the vicious murder of the Libyan leader, and to his country losing its sovereignty.
Lies always have an evil impact, although we may not always be able to see exactly how, and exposing a lie weakens the power of the great liar (Shaytan) and his ilk. voodoo

Who says that? I have never ever known of anybody that sais that one becomes male or female through socialising.
Men and women are of different sex. Different sex is for reproduction. Obviously nobody hopes to become reproductive by socialising.
However, roles imposed on males or females by socialising are facts, but have nothing to do with being male or female but on social preconceptions and assigned roles. No roles in the Qur'an, as far as I know, but plenty in every society thorugh history.

I do not know. There may be a lot in it. Christian missionaries not necessarily of the best kind, and christian zionism has a lot invested in a version of "religion" very much impregnated of chonenness of peoples, which is very convenient on the other hnd to condition people to prejudice and to support things that otherwise they wouldn't. So yes, this would one more factor the imperials who try to overpower the world wouln't like. It is besides very convenient that a big and anciente civilisation as the Egyptian is stained with the hebrews narrative, and the supposed "descendants of those persecuted then recognized today as the rightful heairs of Palestine. Is part of the mental conditioning.
On the other hand people are always avid for a reason to kick those beliefs that are imposed on them as coming from "authorities" and certainly this questioning of the biblical stories may have echo on that kind of attitude. And of course, then there are those who care enough to take it seriously and quest for the truth as much as it is possible.

Huruf said "Who says that? I have never ever known of anybody that sais that one becomes male or female through socialising.
Feminists are saying that 'gender' differences, obviously not the physical differences, are all due to upbringing. Some even refuse to disclose the sex of a child to him/her, so as not to influence its gender behaviour. rotfl

Not feminists, anybody who observes knows that children are conditioned by environment and from what is expected of them. And roles are certainly expected of them, how much depending on the environment. And depending on the persons concerned, people may suffer more or less because of those constraints. The Qur'an says nowhere that men and women are different other than as to reproduction. It is fine when somebody's temperament coincides with what is expected, but when it is not it is very cruel, to start with because it will be radically denied and the person humilliated and told repeatedly that he or she is not manly or feminine. So, either the person distertos him or herself to become what is expected of him or her, or it is hell.

And what is that somebody does not disclose of the child to che child. Does the child need that the be discolosed to it?
At any rate it is always those who are vavoured by bias who deny that bias, but bias there is, and conditioning there is, severe or milddepending onluck but there is. The mere fact of imposing the belief in differences beyond those knowable, is already conditioning.
I have great laufghs when a read hadithist's depictions of male and female "characters", which funnily enough match perfectly those spewed by fundamentalist christians.

Sorry to be diverting your thread here.
Peace Huruf
We're going way off topic here. Let me just clarify my standpoint which is that men and women are created equal but different 'Viva la diferencia' handshake. If you want to debate the issue of feminism further I suggest you either PM me or start a new thread.
