The meaning of 57:3
-
I do wonder if I have the correct meaning of 573. I have studied religion for nearly 10 years now, and was wondering about it`s meaning.
I do have reached some level of certanity. Probably beyond normal interpretations. To me it`s all about Islam, and what the Quran really says.
I would translate it like this
573 He is the first, the last, the aware and the hidden, and he has knowledge of everything.

KnowledgeableI think Yusuf Ali's translation is correct
He is the First and the Last, the Evident and the Immanent and He has full knowledge of all things.I do wonder if I have the correct meaning of 573. I have studied religion for nearly 10 years now, and was wondering about it`s meaning.

Sufis have influenced the translation of this verse for a long time, and translations often reflect pantheism. Therefore I have sought to clarify it. I believe it deals with immanence, but not pantheism.
Peace.
