    Confused

    Salama all

I just have a quick question regarding owning a dog and praying. I've heard three various rules. 1 if you only touch the dog's body but not the nose, which is considered impure, then that is ok. At this point all you have to do re-perform your wudu 2. If the dog touches you at all, you have to change your clothes, which are now dirty because of his smell and saliva and perform the wudu. 3. If a dog touches you, you don't need to change your clothes. All you have to do is, spray what you are wearing with some water, while saying the shaheda at the same time, then perform the wudu and pray as normal. No change of clothes are necessary in this case.
I have three dogs, but I mostly see them on weekends because they live with my family in another city. But when I go to there, I tend to go with rule 2, which is hectic because I need to change clothes to an ezdal all five times I pray.

So does anyone know what is the exact judgement on this one?

Wasn't that before Islam was revealed to us? I mean wouldn't the rules have changed since then?

No it was the same Islam before and after them.

1825 and they stayed in their cave three hundred snyn/seasons and increase for nine

              (4 lunar months i.e. snyn/seasons x 309) / (12 lunar months) = 103 Aam lunar years exactly

Here is my sleeper companion, he is very sleepy in this pic and actually snoring now ... ;D

                Salam,

Where in Quran does it say anything at all about a dog or anything about a dog that would nullify ablution or have any effect what-so-ever on Salat or prayers?

Where do you find these "rules" you are talking about?

Oh look at that cute Doggie I just want to kiss him! I have two great danes and a German Shepard. They are with my parents in Alexandria though. I live in Cairo. However, I do spend a lot of time with them on the weekends and they slobber all over me and do all the cute things dogs do

But folks, nobody has answered my question yet. What should I do? Change my clothes or do the Wudu only?

                    Salam,

It already was answered. Read 56 Do you see anything mentioned about dogs? Do you see anything mentioned about dogs nullifying your ablution? Do you see anything about changing your clothes?

Don't add rules that are not in the Quran. That's where your answer is.

                      Peace Confused peace

The rules Regarding what nullifies Ablution are clearly stated in 56 and 443
If you are in a state of purity (i.e did not render yourself "impure" by doing things below)
If you have just woke up from sleep, or have slept you simply
                      1)-wash face
                      2) hands/arm till elbows
                      3) wipe head
4)wipe/wash feet until ankle (If washing= until ankle, If Wipe= wipe sole feet until ankle)

If you are in a state of Impurity(Junub) (i.e by doing the following)
                      1- if you were traveling
                      2- If you are sick
3- if you went to the bathroom
4- if you had touched women (i.e intercourse as per 3439)
                      intercourse

****In these four cases you simply have to WASH yourself.
***Thus if you had not done any of the above, you are in a state of "Purity", and do not need to wash yourself. If you have not done these four things, AND have not just got up from sleep, i would think your Ablution is still Valid for the Next Salat.

Moreover, The Quran is Fully Detailed and not missing anything 628. It Provides Explanations of to everything (12111). If God willed he would have put more Hardship on us (2220). Thus, what's not stipulated in the Quran, and is not a seemingly obvious or hidden sin (6120), i would think, would be in no need to worry about.
Furthuremore, God Clearly Gave us an example Petting (i.e Touching Dogs) "... he is like the dog; whether you pet him or scold him, he pants... (7176).
Now if touching Dogs rendered you impure, why was it not included in the 56 and 443, just like how it stipulated that we should wash if we "TOUCHED Women" (i.e intercourse as per 3439)?

Becker says many of the bacteria in the mouth of a dog are species specific, so it won't harm its owner.
"So a staph or a strep for a human is not transmissible to a dog, if you were to kiss it, and vice versa," said Becker.
Bottom line -- you're more likely to get a serious illness from kissing a person than kissing a dog

Salat is on appointed times. Once one has decided to stand for the Salat, thereat one is required to perform washing.

Thought of remaining in Ablution for couple of hours, while playing with dogs in between, and then performing with the same Ablution of many hours earlier is conjecture of self claimants of piety.

This is the condition clause. Whenever this takes place, which is obviously the choice of people, but once this decision, then the apodosis clause becomes mandatory because there the verb is Imperative.

The Particle Fa connects the conditional and response/apodosis clause and conveys the meanings of cause and effect. It does not grant permission that people keep playing with dogs after their one prayer, and presuming they are still in the state of ablution, could again stand for the Salat without fulfilling the aodosis clause this time.

People make ways for their convenience, at the cost of disobeying simple and straight forward commands.

                                  Greetings and Peace, all group

Hard to take someone seriously who says the foundation of Islam is "There is NO God".

True that. Not naming names -X and to each their own , but sometimes the "ignore" feature comes in handy.

Regarding original topic, I think youssef4342 nailed it on the head. Of course, there is no harm in ablution every time--but it is not compulsory.

                                  ALLAH knows best.

                                  peace

I don't have a problem getting disturbed while praying because I go into my room and close the door. I also don't have a problem with doing Wudu before every prayer. My question was about how far should I go and I think most people here gave me very interesting answers.

And get this Alladin, not only do I kiss my dogs, but i also used to own pet rats and I used to kiss them all the time too )

                                      Shalom,

Provided that ablution is ordered for Salat, i find the question pretty weird. Why would you be touching a dog or kissing it in your Salat ? Like you mentioned, you go to your room and hold Salat privately, then I dont see any problem. If something or someone disturbs the process, it isnt your fault, is it ? Why complicate things which are made easy for you by God ? If its not revealed by God, there is no point in setting up a new rule which is like SHIRK to me.

                                      PEACE

                                        My dogs

No issues in my house. Was there supposed to be?

For transparency, I do maintain a pet-free space for praying, in a spare bedroom. This is strictly because my dogs and my cat would bug me endlessly when on the floor, haha.

On cleanliness, my dog is careful where he steps and wipes his feet afterwards in the clean grass.

                                          Peace Mazhar,

So what's the difference touching a dog, a horse, a donkey, a camel, or a leather car/sled seat?

56 O you the ones who believe when you stand up to the prayer so wash your faces and your hands to the elbow and wipe your heads and your feet to the ankles and if you are impure so purify yourselves and if you are sick or on journey or comes one from you from the toilet or you touched the women/females so not you find water so do dry ablution ground clean so wipe with your faces and your hands from it not intends The God to make on you from difficulty and nonetheless intends to purify you and to complete His favor on you that you may give thanks
