dear sisters and brothers, salaam at all
I've found that many uphold the opinion that the jinn not exist, i.e. that they are not from fire/energy. For me, this is not supportet from the Quran. please read following discussion on an other forum about this topic

    http//quransmessage.com/forum/index.php?topic=103.msg340#new

Also, there are clearly people who practice voodoo. voodoo and this also with results. The question only is, with help (from the Jinn) or not? and why, because of the will from the magician?
i didn't believe in supernatural phenomena but i saw many things abnormal, that i changed this view What to do with shaking and dancing lamps (!), steps (i saw them and hear them) and scratched arms and legs ( bloody) within five minutes and some bruising, big like apples, which were associated with extreme pain and many strange things again?
there is a big difference between magic, which works with "tricks", and deceives the eyes of the spectators (sawed Virgin etc) and malicious individuals who want to harm other people.
I mention this not because I needed any help, no, I have received a maximum. Since I trust in Allah alone, and I averted myself from all manmade sources, these symptoms disappeared and complaints as quickly as they came ... Praise be to God.
I just wanted to mention that there are "spirits" here, in my opinion. But they can not harm us at all if we are on the right path and put our trust only in Allah!
Perhaps the whole magic things are just another test to see if we have faith in Allah and to confirm to us that
1.all bad comes only from us (because on a wrong path) and
    2. that we should wake up
and i wait for your opinions...! salaam

      Shalom Aleikhom,

Muslims around here all believe in Jinns, but they may not agree with your definition.

The argument that jinns have to be "spirit type" because of being made from "smokeless fire" sounds as ludicrous as believing that we are "pottery type" because we are made from clay/dust.

      My opinions on "Magic"
Take an iphone, go back to the time of Moses and show it to him. "Clear Magic" will be his response. For me, MAGIC= unexplained/non-explainable phenomena. If I demonstrate to you the technology of year 5000, it will be like magic for you.

      Opinion on Voodoo
It only works when you dont test it, so I dont even want to waste time on it.

Magic being a trial for the believers/non-believers ?
I am certain that my life has more meaning than simply being tested by God to see if I believe in something that fails on a trial itself.

        you say

but i didn't have hallucinations. the blessings was real and bloodly and i didn't make theme by myself... >

o.k but, that they are humans like us or beduins seems also not really logic? -\

          Shalom Aleikhom,

I think you understand that your experience is "subjective", so lets drop that. Anyways, just letting you know that there are people with split or multiple personality disorder.

About jinns, I do not know for sure who/what they are. They can be "neanderthals" . I am not sure again . Lets pray to God that He increase us in knowledge, and lets study alot.

          Peace

              Peace,

I personally disbelieve that there are invisible beings that which Sunnis believe live in dung and many other places. As Student says, your experiences are subjective. People from other faiths also have subjective experiences and try to pass it off as truth. You can see Christians talking about how, through Jesus, they were healed from cancer and other maladities. Whether it happened or not, that is their own experience. Also the feeling of the Holy Spirit when they congregate, they cry tears. Emotionalism at its best, but not a way to prove their belief.

I take that jinns are things/people that are hidden. As Student says, theres one interpretation that they are neanderthals. My belief is that they are the nomads that are separate from the urbanites. In the verses that relates to the creation of mankind, I think that Dr. Shabbir and others have made a good hypothesis that it is the fiery temperament of the human being and our desires that separates us from God.

              Peace
