Would you like to marry a hadither?
-
Shalom Aleikhom,
I think it depends on the "type" of person and his "type" of interpretation and school of thought. Most muslims I know are not concerned with "Deen" to start with. But yes, in the long run, the differences between a person and their spouse may cause problems in the upbringing of their child. Most of the problem coming from the traditionalist, who would indoctrinate their children and would consider the child "apostate worthy of death" if the child leaves his fathers religion when he is an adult.
I read about some people on this site who are married to traditionalist husbands. Unfortunately, none of them sounded happy with their conflicts. There will always be conflicts in our understanding, the key is to not mix with people who are intolerant of it. If you look around this website, you may find many that dont agree with me in many things, some may not agree in ANYTHING, but still, none would declare me a "Kuffar worthy of getting beheaded" for that.
Having said all that, I must inform you that most traditionalists muslims I met are nice and decent people. They would rather spend time making you understand why you have chosen the wrong way, give you materials to study at times. However, the black sheep use their Shariah to threaten you for apostasy. The dilemma is that the decent traditionalists have to shut up infront of these black sheep because the black sheep are "merely using the Shariah".
Peace

If someone would do irrational things because of hadith, I could not tolerate it. Neither if someone claimed I needed to believe in hadith for Islam. Or nineteen, or any other association. Or failure to comply with Quranic morality, such as avoiding promiscuity, homophilia, intoxicants, etc. Or stupid intepretations claiming that the celluar phone or computer, is "the beast of the earth" etc.
Or explainig away heaven and hell, or jinn or anything in the Quran really. And abusing verses and showing little understanding of them. Believers are believers, and shaytans are shaytans. ETC.
Peace.

If you want to get married, can you imagine yourself with a hadither?
And for the members in a relationship/marriage are you married to an hadither? If yes, how do you deal with it?

And do not marry the male polytheists until they believe. For a believing male servant is better than a polytheist even if he attracts you. Those invite to the Fire, while God is inviting to the Paradise and forgiveness by His consent. He clarifies His revelations for the people that they may remember. This is my personal understanding.

Peace mmkhan,
How would you say that Muslims are able to marry People of the Book (Monotheists, not those that commit blatant shirk)? Would they have to first revert to Islam and then it would be permissible to marry them? If that's the case, why even mention that the People of the Book are able to be betrothed to us?
The Nazarenes are not those that say that God has a son or that God is the Messiah. Those that say such shirk are with the rest of the mushrik, similar to the Meccans that believed in Allah but still committed shirk weren't Muslims. How much of the beliefs from the People of the Book have to be in line with ours?

If you are referring to Christians and Jews by saying people of the Book, then surely you cannot marry them. Because as you mentioned they do shirk with Allah.

I take it then that to your understanding that this ayat in the Qur'an is speaking of them after they revert to Islam?

I know that a lot of the Hadither's find no problem marrying the polytheists because of this ayat and also they claim that Muhammad married Maria the Copt. So does that mean that even the Unitarian Christians are off limits?

Yes... and I'm married to one..
I never forced or even asked her to any belief or anything...
I just share her my thought..
But now I think she's more open minded than she used to be... more 'secular' I would say and more 'critical thinker'..Salam / Peace
Please Jafar, tell us if you faced some problems with your hadither wife and/or if you had any particular disagreement with her regarding upbringing of children, and how does she react to your very liberal views?
It might help others who are married to sectarians.

Peace,
It seems that for a "Quranist" you have alot of Islamic baggage 930 "Waqalati alyahoodu AAuzayrun ibnu Allahi waqalati alnnasara almaseehu ibnu Allahi thalika qawluhum biafwahihim yudahioona qawla allatheena kafaroo min qablu qatalahumu Allahu anna yufakoona" "And the Jews say Ezra is God's son and the Christians say Christ is God's son, these are (mere) sayings of their mouths, they (merely) imitate the saying of those who suppressed the truth before them, may God destroy them, how perverted are their minds." (my own translation).
582 "Latajidanna ashadda alnnasi AAadawatan lillatheena amanoo alyahooda waallatheena ashrakoo walatajidanna aqrabahum mawaddatan lillatheena amanoo allatheena qaloo inna nasara thalika bianna minhum qisseeseena waruhbanan waannahum la yastakbiroona" Most assuredly you will find those strongest in enmity among men to the believers to be the Jews and those who are idolaters; and most assuredly you will find those closest in love to those who believe, those who are saying We are Christians, this is because among them priests and men of God, and because they are not arrogant." (my own translation)
Looks to me like the Nasara (or Nazarenes as you call them) do in fact call Christ ibn Allah, and yet are explicitly contrasted with Mushriks (allatheena ashrakoo). Perhaps you should familiarize yourself more with Quranic theology (rather than Islamic theology), such as the difference between walad and ibn Allah, in the Quran, before you throw out anathemas left and right.

mmKhanAnd what about marrying and atheist/agnostic?
As for me, I personally don't have a problem marrying anyone from any religion (or lack of it), just a women who is open minded enough to accept my views. Although a good looking Quran Only follower would be nice. P
People I wouldn't be inclined to get married to are the overtly sectarian Muslim, Zionist Christian, Militant atheist etc.
Instead of "Hadither", I think the term Traditional/Sectarian Muslim is more respectable.

Thanks for trying to correct me. However, to say that ALL of them share these views would be wrong as well. For example, one can say that Muslims believe that Jesus is born of a virgin. Does this take all Muslims into consideration? Similarly, there are beliefs are the idea that Muhammad got the 50 salat down to 5. Al Buraq. Etc.
To say that ALL Jews call Ezra God's son is a fallacy as well. From my own understanding, I take it to mean that there are those that are Jews and those that are Nazarenes that ascribe such things, yet it doesn't take all of them into account. God makes many statements. God makes statements about Arabs, Jews, etc. Are we to take it that God is making a general statement or that He is saying that each and everyone of them are like that?
Since you pointed out my mistake, care to address the question that I posed mmkhan? What's your opinion on it? And saying that Christ is God, is associating partners, therefore that is shirk.

salaam all together group
I am married to a "Hadither".( I find the argument to treat them with respect, beautiful, we should not push into the same horn as those that we criticize.)
It is very quickly condemned anyone. also with regard to shirk. When I lived in the Islamic Sunnah, I was never aware of committing shirk, I was easily led astray, complete brainwashing. But I personally have always thought, only to believe in Allah, that I leaned to man-made laws, I was never aware of.
God sent me, at my request- as not to the church-believing Christian-, a Muslim who was the mean that I began to read the Koran and to become a muslim The point that I'm getting at is the He and I were dragged through the "Gameat al Tabligh" in a wrong way. We are now ten years married. I woke up.Al Hamdulillah . He did not. He accused me of kufr, for him was rejecting the Sunnah= rejection of the Prophet Muhammad = Kufr. I've been trying for a year to speak with him, but without success. nope
I've always prayed for. I was very close to divorce and leave - leave my kids here and never to see them again (my husband wants to give back his Swiss nationality and wants Keep away his children from "Kufr agricultural Switzerland". >D That was the situation until yesterday.
Yesterday I asked him again whether he could live with a Apostate? funnily enough was his answer Believe what you want but do not try to convert me.
I suspect that his teachers in his institute (he goes to the Azhar-) talked to him ...
So I continue to be patient and ask Allah for guidance for me and him and all people with open hearts ....
Allah has managed to make a Muslim-hatred women, who grew up in a Christian but atheistic family,to a faithful Muslim. He has turned my hate and ignorance in love for HIM and his book. He only and sure can broken the granite-heart of my husband ...
By the way, if anyone here has a Muslim education (secterian knowledge, Fiqh , islamic theologie etc.) and speaks Arabic fluently, one could (must be a man, women are even less intelligent in the eyes of most traditional Arabs ...) talk to my husband? or that is beyond the Forum? If so, then sorry. Salaam to all ) -
My husband considers himself Sunni Hanafi. Religion can be like politics and is not discussed at times. I was Sunni, or considered myself so until I was too hurt by the hadith and could not take this religion anymore as I found it oppressive to the woman and tearing at old wounds. He does respect my points and listens when I correct him about a Hadith vs. Quran. He is not too hung up on the hadiths, but he gets upset that I disregard the Sunnah, he says it is because I am new to Islam and he is patient. I have caught him siding with me and he was even more interested until the Imam told him I was Haram for my thoughts.
I know we will have trouble with Adam (our 1 year old), But I will take this slowly. Adam will have alot of knowledge about other faiths and the Quran as long as I am around, Allah will take care of him, Insha Allah.
We want more children, but to be honest I am scared to death to have a baby girl, I don't think I can handle it. I almost don't want to try for more children, which is so sad to even say. We even agreed that a girl would be a huge strain on our marriage.
I have one daughter from a previous marriage and he does not get involved, both my children from my first marriage will be "Muslim" But if we had a girl I would have to worry about her and watch her be treated like a second class citizen with all their ideas on hijab, Polygamy.. even heaven and not to mention they do believe women are lacking in mind and spirit. My favorite hadith is one where the Prophet tells the women that "Compare yourselves to your husband, he is your paradise and you are hell." That was the last straw.

Just my words. The important thing for me is also that its an open minded boy with a good and kind heart, and than i really dont care about his religion or lack of religion. Forget about religious sectarian muslims, zionist christians, militant atheists etc. they are the mushriks we are told not marry in the quran anyway, if u ask for my interpretation.

Does he act as a hadither as well or is just limited to his opinions? is he ''open-minded''?

Good to have a mother like you. Remember that we mothers are able to effect our children in ways much more than the fathers, especially if the father is a hadith who usually think that children are only the responsibility of the mother.
But if we had a girl I would have to worry about her and watch her be treated like a second class citizen with all their ideas on hijab, Polygamy.. even heaven and not to mention they do believe women are lacking in mind and spirit.
Being a female among hadithers is a disaster in itself. Calling women lacking in mind and spirit expose hadithers as shameless liers stupid enough to ignore the obvious That women occupies 60% of the universities, that women overall are less effected by stress, live longer, and have a propensity to get over divorces and unemployment much faster then compared to men. These are just few examples of how women in fact exceeds men in many fields.
My favorite hadith is one where the Prophet tells the women that "Compare yourselves to your husband, he is your paradise and you are hell."
The person who wrote this hadith should be beheaded.

very well nice posted Forget about religious sectarian muslims, zionist christians, militant atheists etc. they are the mushriks we are told not marry in the quran anyway, if u ask for my interpretation.Im A man but i think exacly the same way as your explaining.. i wish to mary a women submitted to God only and that we can both in harmony with no hadiths, zionist visions, or distrotions from physical of material life achive perfect simbiose with the Creator.
In my opinion A women is the Head of the House(best organization)(yes man must help in home)and the best advisor to his husband and vice versa.., should not exist compulsion in Islam, and must have tolerance in every aspect of life.. Take Allah then the Alquran, and use as "hadith"my internal senses of LOVE and kindness. Husben and wife should conquer each other everyday, and ponder in their mistakes and MALES round... please be gentile with your wifes, they deserve the best and are youre best friends..InshAllah one day ill find someone with your kind of mentality sisters...
but Europe is a dangerous place..where girls not get only liberty witch i consider a right.. but also in oposite what i see is they are simply out of control, becoming like man in the past or even like the man of arab countries...unfortunatlly all society is upside down...

Two things has to be noticed from the above aayat and
means women who keep themselves protected as per 2180, please note the highlighted word 2180
Second thing is , it is not referring to Jews and Christians, there is a difference between and following aayaats may explain it better, inshaAllah.

Maha, My husband is open minded. Infact he is not fond of polygamy and feels it is abused. He has no problems doing chores and lets me do as I need to. We have common respect. There are some issues we have. He is telling the baby when he grabs something.. Right hand first. Right foot first, I just ignore it.
He tells me would want his daughter to be covered with Hijab, but he also said she has the right to be educated in whatever area she wants, but if she wants to stay home that is okay too. Just still makes me nervous, you know how ppl can change once a baby is thrown in the equation.
When I was still unaware of hadith and started learning about them, I hated being female. Infact I teased my husband and said if Allah grants anything you in heaven, then I want to be a man....lol
But Alhamdulillah, he does agree with some of my things and he is actually getting more interested when I correct him using Qu'ran ..
