Peace brothers and sisters. In the past I have comited a sex crime against a adult femalle prostitute namely rape, I also asked two girls age 17 to have sex with me, these girls where strangers. I have other criminal history but we don't have to talk about that like break and enters and assault.

As a result of this sexuall offending I have done four years inprison and year and a half on parole. After geting out I have been placed on a sex offenders registar for 15 years. I have been complying with it for about two and a half years, however yestarday I went to the Police and I have told my case workers that I am not going to comply with the register any more.

One of my conditions is that I have to report If I have contact with anyone under the age of 18 three or more times in a year. Well I have had underage people on my facebook for a while and I didn't report. I have told them yesterday that if they take my phone they can find underage people there and I have shown them some of them just so that they would interview me.

I have told them that if they let me go from the police station and that if I see a kid in need of help I will go up to him or her and help them and if his or her mother was to ask me to look after them sometimes I would take the offer and I wouldn't tell the police. I have also told them that I have changed the pasword for one of my emails but that I will not tell them what is it. So they interviewed me and they confiscated my phone as an evidence so I will not be able to post as often because my phone was my conection to the internet. However I can go to library and spend an hour in one and if I really need to I can spend hour in the other.

Anyway, don't try to talk me out of my batle because I have made up my mind. I will rather go to prison than betreated like a dangerous criminaly active pedophile. I am not a danger to any one especially not kids and the registar treats me like I am.

    Thanks
    Ervin

I suppose you have thought it over well and that you step is sound. What I do not know is what they can do to you, nor for breaking the general law, but to you in pparticular because of such a register. I guess it makes you specially vulnerable is somebody happens to hate you or somebody simply becomes hostile to you for any reason.

I hope you have taken or you are going to take all preacutions.

I pray that everything goes well with you and that you can lead a life as you say of helping others.

      Salaam

Just don't report them anything unless they ask. You should not have went to them to tell them what you would or would not do. Never tell police anything unless they ask. The parole can be lifted if they see you were complying. But now you gave them an excuse. I don't know your case but getting into a confrontation is not smart. If you must then travel and go find ur life somewhere else.

            Interesting responses.

I have told them yesterday that if they take my phone they can find underage people there and I have shown them some of them just so that they would interview me.

Are you thinking straight? You wanted them to interview you so that you can tell them that you won't tell them what it is they want to be informed of? After your history/posts on this forum, I'm not sure. Given all that you admit to have done, the least you could do is realise that one part of it is being treated like you may lapse again. The reality is that people do revert and laws exist to safeguard society from these atrocities. It's not a blow to your pride/rights.

              Peace Ervin,

I am confident about the sincerity of your regrets and your repentance, but I think that you realize that after all these years of criminal history, your reputation of a guy not worthy of the trust of your community is well-deserved; it is only the result of YOUR own actions. This is the crude reality that you have to accept.

Now that you have repented, you will have atleast to spend the same amount of time (as during your criminal years) to prove to your community (or to the police) that you are again worthy of their trust, by showing a good conduct and complying with their conditions. Imagine that if you had children yourself, you wouldn't trust anyone that has the same records as you, to take care of your kids even for one hour.

Please be patient and steadfast in straightening your relation with your community and with the police, as the police is supposed to prevent the community for harm. They are just doing their job, you don?t have to take it personally when they question you, as they are questioning the old Ervin because they still don?t know the new one.

You know, even among the police, you will find many real good and god-fearing men and women, that will want to help you recover and be a better person.

Please put your trust in the god, and open you heart to the people around you. Be honest and just, the god will certainly send you many of his blessings, as it is a promise from him for his good servants.

And whenever you feel lost, just open al-quran and read whatever chapter you see. You will find serenity in it.

and last, I am sorry if my comments to you seem condescending as it is not my aim.

Wow you asked some 17 year old girls to have sex, and they do all that? The rape was bad, but what's wrong with 17 year old girls? Just because man-made laws say you can't? Who authorized men to make such laws?

But after all, there's that explanation, man-made laws = rotfl

                  Salam Ervin,
Be patient, be honest and ask God for forgivness and guidness.
Hold on, the most important thing is to repent to God and never do bad things again. God forgives and then its done and gone, God dont hold grudges.
It takes time for societies/people to forget and forgive, but if God forgives then doesnt matter what people think. You will change their minds by being an honest, good, God fearing man.
                  Peace!

You showed her, didn't you? So, if you don't get your own way, go around raping people, is that the gist of it? Don't rationalize it, if you have 'reformed', okay? This is not a statement one makes if they regret an action; which clearly you do not.

I am pretty sure you're trolling for attention.

Ervin has been to prison for his crimes. I think the part where he gets the lifetime punishment reserved for pedophile's is the unjust. And that is the only part he is contesting. He doesn't deny his sins.

He isn't a troll, I've heard a live recording and we've filed formal complaints with various departments in his State.

Okay, if he doesn't 'deny his sins', why is he rationalizing them? Quite emphatically, I might add? Look, I get that people make mistakes, I get that, that people deserve second chances and all that...but not blindly. Again, if you regret a 'sin', you don't rationalize it. period.

Laws are made for general cases. In this case the cutoff is 18 years, they will enforce those laws not make exceptions. One has to realise this, it's part of living in a society. If one disagrees the answer isn't to ask for an exception but try to change the laws in place. What would be the cutoff year then? 16? 15? 14? 13? I'm sure someone who's asked a 16 year old for sex will disagree with a 17 year cutoff date. Let's not have a cutoff year? How would one charge crimes against children? Same as an adult? It's a different category and it's a complicated issue.

Needless to say, when one makes mistakes of such magnitude in life, the rest of one's life should be a penance in sort to the choices one made. It disgusts me to hear a man who raped say she "had it coming". This is not the response of someone who is remorseful.

The important thing here is a person should change his environment and accept God's timing. Its never easy to do since its hard for humans to have patience and perseverence. But its a must for a believer. There is no way out of it. Ervin obviously wants to move on in life and he has every right to do so. He spend his time and now he wants to move on. But patience is a must or he will make things worse. One of my favorite lectures about patience and perseverence is by this Christian preacher.

Pastor Dennis Smith. Its about 30 minutes but very insightful. He explains how even Jesus wanted to give up. Its titled appropriately "The faith struggle".

                              http//www.your-church.com/sermon-faith-struggle.php

This is an example of something that all believers hate to hear but have to face nevertheless.

                                Peace all,
                                I think he is remorseful..
He didn't justify it. He was just describing the circumstances and his thought process at the time.

This is what he told me before he posted this..

"I don't know wheter she tried to rip me of or not but I raped her, money was just an excuse. You don't do something like that unless you are ready for something like that."

So I don't know if its the tone of this post here but he is not making excuses it just appears that way.

                                Thanks

It's what he wrote, no tone involved here. Simple fact of the matter is one deals with the consequences when we make our choices. The way we deal with them is another choice, we should make sure it's the right one. The OP doesn't need to 'throw off the oppressive shackles' to help a kid in mortal danger. What exactly did he achieve by telling the ones in charge of the case that he wouldn't comply is beyond me. It's making an unwise statement that is counterproductive to his claims of 'hey guys trust me'.

Frankly, I don't think this is a case of trust/sincerity or whether or not someone believes him...it's a case of living with the consequences and making the right choices now.

I hear people mentioning "pedophile, pedophile". Sincerely, go learn what the word means.

Laws are made for general cases. In this case the cutoff is 18 years, they will enforce those laws not make exceptions.

                                        Salaam,

But for who is this cutoff?

Lets take a girl who is 17 years.
Then how old must the boy/man has to be for not breaking the law? Is there also some cutoff for the other gender?
I mean I think it's not against the law in the land where Ervin lives to have sex under the age of 18, as I am sure that there are teenagers over there who have sex. So at what age is it a crime to ask a 17 years old girl for sex?

This is a discussion that has been going on for quite some time actually. Mutual underage sex and sex between someone who's under the legal age and one who's over. The issue is, closer the ages are in the latter case, it becomes murky. The more the difference the clearer it is. What's the alternative? Not having ages, rather have it based on calculating the trauma/harm inflicted/case by case? That has it's own sets of issues so they took the route of a legal age barrier.

The cutoff is for penalising those that try to have sex with those under the legal age, doesn't matter if you're 18 or 40. Some would argue that's not right, an 18 year old should be able to have mutual sex with someone who's 17, it doesn't matter so on and so forth and in almost all cases like this no one really cares. But if it's reported it's a legal issue. Many laws are like this, people get away with stuff unless it's reported. The moral most people take from this is to be careful I guess.

Since there isn't a clear alternative that most people can put forward, it is what it is and one just needs to make their peace with it or contest it with their reasoning and see if there can be a change that's better than how it is currently and if the pro's/cons balance out.

                                          Peace.
