Many Muslims claim the Taliban are not following "true Islam". But for one reason or another its seems the Taliban and their likes continue acting and behaving this way. Muslims tell the world they are not true Islam. Yet why do they insist and continue to behave like this?

    Could these hadiths be why?

On the authority of Abdullah ibn Abbas that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "If you find anybody committing the act of the People of Lot (i.e. sodomy), then kill the one doing it and the one with whom it is done." This hadith is recorded by Imam Ahmad, Imam Abu Dawud, and Imam At-Tirmidhi among others. elektro

Narrated Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri When the tribe of Bani Quraiza was ready to accept Sad's judgment, Allah's Apostle sent for Sad who was near to him. Sad came, riding a donkey and when he came near, Allah's Apostle said (to the Ansar), "Stand up for your leader." Then Sad came and sat beside Allah's Apostle who said to him. "These people are ready to accept your judgment." Sad said, "I give the judgment that their warriors should be killed and their children and women should be taken as prisoners." The Prophet then remarked, "O Sad! You have judged amongst them with (or similar to) the judgment of the King Allah." Bukhari hypno hypno hypno

Narrated Aisha No woman of Banu Qurayzah was killed except one. She was with me, talking and laughing on her back and belly (extremely), while the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) was killing her people with the swords. Suddenly a man called her name Where is so-and-so? She said I I asked What is the matter with you? She said I did a new act. She said The man took her and beheaded her. She said I will not forget that she was laughing extremely although she knew that she would be killed. Abu Dawood nope

Narrated Atiyyah al-Qurazi I was among the captives of Banu Qurayzah. They (the Companions) examined us, and those who had begun to grow hair (pubes) were killed, and those who had not were not killed. I was among those who had not grown hair. Abu Dawood >D

Narrated Ibn Umar Bani An-Nadir and Bani Quraiza fought (against the Prophet violating their peace treaty), so the Prophet exiled Bani An-Nadir and allowed Bani Quraiza to remain at their places (in Medina) taking nothing from them till they fought against the Prophet again). He then killed their men and distributed their women, children and property among the Muslims, but some of them came to the Prophet and he granted them safety, and they embraced Islam. He exiled all the Jews from Medina. They were the Jews of Bani Qainuqa, the tribe of Abdullah bin Salam and the Jews of Bani Haritha and all the other Jews of Medina. Bukhari >D

"Awf ibn Malik reported that the Prophet (Peace be upon him) said, 'The Jews split into 71 sects one will enter Paradise and 70 will enter Hell. The Christians split into 72 sects 71 will enter Hell and one will enter Paradise. By Him in Whose hand is my soul, my Ummah will split into 73 sects one will enter Paradise and 72 will enter Hell.' Someone asked, 'O Messenger ofAllah (Peace be upon him), who will they be?' He replied, 'The main body of the Muslims (al-Jama'ah).' Awf ibn Malik is the only one who reported this Hadith, and its isnad is acceptable." And in another version of this Hadith the Prophet (Peace be upon him) goes onto say that the saved sect, "...Are those who follow my and my Sahaba's path" (Tirmidhi, vol. 2, pg. 89)

Some Zanadiqa (atheists) were brought to ?Ali and he burnt them. The news of this event, reached Ibn ?Abbas who said, ?If I had been in his place, I would not have burnt them, as Allah?s Apostle forbade it, saying, ?Do not punish anybody with Allah?s punishment (fire).? I would have killed them according to the statement of Allah?s Apostle, ?Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him. Bukhari voodoo

Allah's Apostle sent us in a mission (i.e. am army-unit) and said, "If you find so-and-so and so-and-so, burn both of them with fire." When we intended to depart, Allah's Apostle said, "I have ordered you to burn so-and-so and so-and-so, and it is none but Allah Who punishes with fire, so, if you find them, kill them." Bukhari elektro

Allah's Apostle said, "I have been ordered to fight the people till they say 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.' And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with them except legally and their reckoning will be with Allah." Narrated Maimun ibn Siyah that he asked Anas bin Malik, "O Abu Hamza! What makes the life and property of a person sacred?" He replied, "Whoever says, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah', faces our Qibla during the prayers, prays like us and eats our slaughtered animal, then he is a Muslim, and has got the same rights and obligations as other Muslims have." Bukhari

Abu Musa said, ?I came to the Prophet along with two men (from the tribe) of Ash?ariyin, one on my right and the other on my left, while Allah?s Apostle was brushing his teeth (with a Siwak ), and both men asked him for some employment. The Prophet said, ?O Abu Musa (O ?Abdullah bin Qais!).? I said, ?By Him Who sent you with the Truth, these two men did not tell me what was in their hearts and I did not feel (realize) that they were seeking employment.? As if I were looking now at his Siwak being drawn to a corner under his lips, and he said, ?We never (or, we do not) appoint for our affairs anyone who seeks to be employed. But O Abu Musa! (or ?Abdullah bin Qais!) Go to Yemen.?? The Prophet then sent Mu?adh bin Jabal after him and when Mu?adh reached him, he spread out a cushion for him and requested him to get down (and sit on the cushion). Behold There was a fettered man beside Abu Muisa. Mu?adh asked, ?Who is this (man)?? Abu Muisa said, ?He was a Jew and became a Muslim and then reverted back to Judaism.? Then Abu Muisa requested Mu?adh to sit down but Mu?adh said, ?I will not sit down till he has been killed. This is the judgment of Allah and His Apostle (for such cases) and repeated it thrice. Then Abu Musa ordered that the man be killed, and he was killed. Abu Musa added, ?Then we discussed the night prayers and one of us said, ?I pray and sleep, and I hope that Allah will reward me for my sleep as well as for my prayers.?? Bukhari

Some people from the tribe of ?Ukl came to the Prophet and embraced Islam. The climate of Medina did not suit them, so the Prophet ordered them to go to the (herd of milch) camels of charity and to drink, their milk and urine (as a medicine). They did so, and after they had recovered from their ailment (became healthy) they turned renegades (reverted from Islam) and killed the shepherd of the camels and took the camels away. The Prophet sent (some people) in their pursuit and so they were (caught and) brought, and the Prophets ordered that their hands and legs should be cut off and that their eyes should be branded with heated pieces of iron, and that their cut hands and legs should not be cauterized, till they die. Bukhari

Imam Shafi, may Allah have mercy upon him, said the Imam is given the choice of killing the prisoners, showing them mercy, ransoming them or keeping them in bondage. This issue has been confirmed and has been proven in our book 'Al Ahkam.' (Tafsir of the Qur'an by Ibn Kathir ) tempt

According to the Qur'an a woman who has been captured by force falls in the category of a slave girl (kaniz). And because the Qur'an confines the use of force to the fighting (qital) in the way of God, thus according to the Qur'an a slave girl is that woman who falls in the hands of Muslims as a prisoner during the course of war waged in the way of God. (Maulana Maududi, Rasa'il wa Masa'il 3rd edition, Vol. III, p.102).

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas Ikrimah reported on the authority of Ibn Abbas, saying I think the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) said When one of you prays without a sutrah, a dog, an ass, a pig, a Jew, a Magian, and a woman cut off his prayer, but it will suffice if they pass in front of him at a distance of over a stone's throw. ( Bukhari ) rotfl

'Umar b. Muhammad b. Zaid reported that he heard his father narrating from Ibn 'Umar that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) had said. If bad luck is a fact, then it is in the horse, the woman and the house. (Bukhari) hypno

tbh, I think if one truly follows hadiths then the practices of the Taliban are more consistent than mainstream sunnis who tend to pick and choose what they like and then spew a lot of apologist crap to non muslims

            Greetings and Peace, all group

When there is nothing to do, what can you do? hmm

We can only strive towards goodness and invite others and submit to ALLAH. Beyond that? Patient trust in ALLAH.

2856 You cannot guide whom you love. But it is GOD who guides whom He wills; and He is fully aware of those who receive the guidance.

May ALLAH see fit to Guide all seekers.

Why the culture of violence and terror has spread among a group of people being labelled as or labelled themselves as X ?
It's because the habits of violence and terror IS within the culture of X.
And they shall quote anything from any sources which could provide support / justification of their (bad) behavior..

And that's one of the strong motivation on the authoring of the "Hadiths".. to justify some of their bad behavior...

              Salam / Peace

For someone who has been in this forum so long I find it strange that you would think of me as someone who does not discuss the Koran. I must have posted thousands of posts about the Koran concerning all topics.

These hadiths is a reminder to Muslims as Paper Tiger here said that the reason why the Taliban continue to do what they do and don't pay attention to what Muslims say to them is because precisely what paper Tiger said. The Taliban like Muslims feel that other Muslims are not being sincere about their deen and are influenced by corrupt foreign ideas. They see nothing wrong with what they are doing.

In any case the Taliban like Muslims are our biggest allies since its they who help promote us as they expose the realities of the Sunnah that the Sufis hid from the masses.

Sufism, with all due respect to their traditions of moderation and tolerance, is our biggest obstacle as they hide many aspects of the Sunni orthodoxy by their focus on spiritual and ritual issues and their shunning of the legal and political issues of Sunni Islam. The wahhabis are the exact opposite and that should suit us just fine.

My expereince with Muslims have been that once confronted with these hadiths they either avoid the topic or confess displeasure. They can never really defend it but for once they will now know why no Muslim authority can stop these terrorist. With the Salfis now gaining ground and entering parliaments in these Arab revolutions like in Egypt and soon Yemen, we will be seeing a huge new interest in our persuasion.

Change happens because people have to and not out because they want to. The terrorist our our best friends.

                  Salaam brother,

You took it totally wrong or I might have not said it properly. I know you discuss AlQuraan but what I mean is instead of wasting time on collecting those narrations it is better to spend the same time with AlQuraan.

                  @ mirjamnur and Bigmo

As you might have noticed that Allah asked us to just explain or put forward His aayaats in front of others instead of anything else. Our way should be to call to the way of Allah 12108, 4133. Allah's aayaats from AlQuraan is more than enough to convince the one who wants to believe and accept.

At least I understand this way. Hope you understand what I mean to say.

I never took interest in hadith in the past so why go through them now? For me it's a waste of my time, however to answer your question about the culture of violence I believe it's because most of the mosques have secret teams behind them, who give fundings to the mosques as well as place Imams, who promote violence and chant takbir to create fear, so if you really care then expose those working in the background. These teams includs non muslim too like FBI, member of parliaments and secret services etc.

I have only heard about the Taliban being terrorists, from mass media; I never got to meet any of them to understand their culture of terror. Please educate me; is it the Taliban who have gone to other countries to create havoc, who operate Drones in Afghanistan/Pakistan/Sudan/Yemen/Somalia etc. hovering over unarmed civilians with a constant buzz to make sure that they are always aware and forced to live in permanent terror of missiles striking them and their families at any time?
Can you imagine youself in this situation hmm

Are you serious? I would say blowing up schools, especially girls' schools in Afghanistan because you disagree with co-education is an act of terrorism. They are proud of the things they have done and have spoken about it. They oppress anyone who does not think like they do. Do you honestly think they would welcome you with open arms? To them you are a Kufr, nothing more, nothing less. To me, they are cowards and it is sad too many people have died because of them.

I am not condoning U.S. behavior either, trust me those bastards that hurt the children. I don't want to hear.. oh the poor guy was stressed. Sorry Excuse! They should have removed him from duty as soon as they saw signs. Now, he should be tried in Afghanistan and let the people there make the judgement.

The Taliban were in power before the Us went there if you remember. Plus we have Somalia and Iran and Saudi. We have Omar Al Bashir in Sudan who defended flogging women for wearing pants. We have the Salafis in Algeria and we have the Taliban in Pakistan. So the US can not be the sole reason.

                        1. Yazid ibn Khusayfa related that as-Sa'ib ibn Yazid said, "In the time of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, the rule of Abu Bakr and the beginning of the khalifate of 'Umar, when we were brought someone who had drink, we would go to him with our hands, sandals and cloak. At the end of the rule of 'Umar, he inflicted forty lashes and when people became impudent, and impious, he gave eighty lashes.

                        2. Ibn Abi Mulayka related that 'Uqba ibn al-Harith said, "An-Nu'man, or the son of an-Nu'man, was brought on account of drinking and the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, commanded that they beat him in the house. They beat him, and I was one of those who beat him with sandals."

                        3. 'Abdullah ibn Abi Mulayka related from 'Uqba ibn al-Harith that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was brought Nu'aym or the son of Nu'aym who was drunk. That was hard on him and he commanded those in the house to beat him. They beat him with stalks and sandals. I was one of those who beat him."

                        4. Aslam related from 'Umar ibn al-Khattab that in the time of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, there was a man named 'Abdullah who was called "the Donkey" and who used to make the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, laugh. The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, flogged him for drinking. One day he was brought and he commanded that he be lashed. A man among the people said, 'O Allah, curse him! How often he is brought on account of it!' The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, 'Do not curse him. By Allah, I only know that he loves Allah and His Messenger.'"

                        5. Abu Salih was heard to relate from Abu Hurayra that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Allah curses a thief who steals an egg and has his hand cut off, or steals a rope and has his hand cut off."

                        6. 'Amra related from 'A'isha that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "The hand is cut off for stealing something worth a quarter of a dinar or more."
'Urwa ibn az-Zubayr and 'Amra related from 'A'isha that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "The hand of a thief is cut off for stealing a quarter of a dinar."

                        7. 'Urwa related that 'A'isha told him that the hand of a thief was not cut off in the time of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, except for the value of a shield, whether a hajafa or turs

                        8. 'Urwa related that 'A'isha said, "The hand of a thief is not cut off for less than a hajafa or turs, each of which had a price."

                        9. Nafi' related that Ibn 'Umar said, "The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, cut off the hand for a shield whose price three dinars.

A hand for a hand became a hand for a quarter of a dinar. So mush for the law of equity.

Notice the first hadith and how authority was given to the prophet to actually ounish people for "sins", something you will never find in the Koran. The Koran gave humans to freedom to disbelieve and even worship idols and ridicule the prophets and God's deen.

But more importantly we can see how divine authority not all was given in these hadiths to the prophet but also to his companions. Authority that is now in the hands of Al Saud, Mullah Omar, Omar Al Bashir and Ahmedinejad.

Are you serious? I would say blowing up schools, especially girls' schools in Afghanistan because you disagree with co-education is an act of terrorism. ,I am not condoning U.S. behavior either, trust me those bastards that hurt the children. I don't want to hear.. oh the poor guy was stressed. Sorry Excuse! They should have removed him from duty as soon as they saw signs. Now, he should be tried in Afghanistan and let the people there make the judgement.

                          Salaam
I can tell you from experience that I have never met a terrorist Taliban although I?ve known Pathan from my childhood. They not only guarded our homes, but also the care taker of our co-education shool was a pathan/Pashtoon (now called Taliban) and he never tried to burn our school. He guarded it so well that, in fact, even today most schools be it co-education or not employ Pathan as caretakers .

They are proud of the things they have done and have spoken about it.

Have you met such a proud Taliban who spoke to you about things they have done? I met quite a few displaced ones in Pakistan who had differnt version of events as they were left with the mess created by US and Russian in terrirtory which happens to loaded with mineral wealth.

They oppress anyone who does not think like they do. Do you honestly think they would welcome you with open arms? To them you are a Kufr, nothing more, nothing less. To me

I do not have any such memory I have been to Afghanistan in the 70?s and also to Swat in Pakistan. We were welcomed as tourists with open arms, no one tried to force their culture on us, nor did we try to force our values on them; we all knew our limits. I also remember that most cloth merchants were Afghans. They sell fabric that?s unavailable in Pakistani shops so their main customers were fashionable women, and no one ever got harrassed for coming to their shops fully made up, often in sleaveless shirts with low necks, nor did we hear any one being called kafir

they are cowards and it is sad too many people have died because of them.

I think you need to get hold of satistics to find out who are responsible for killing so many people especially after 9/11 and also since when title of this thread came to be associated with Taliban/pashtoons/muslims.

The most sadistic thing is that the traditional extremists who shed blood of innocents and cause injustice and corruption in the land are simply honest and sincere followers of hadith. There are many such people who consider almost all hadith to be sahih. They are actually better than the ones who pick and chose to fit their desire. I say that they are better because they do understand that if guys like Bukhari compiled 1000 fabricated hadith along with other saheeh using the same method.... it can aswell be that the rest are flawed or atleast unreliable.

Yes I know the Taliban were taking control of Afghanistan, and they had the poppy crops destroyed and the civil war was coming to an end. The war loards, who gave loans for growing poppy, were suffering losses. Then came 9/11 and now the opium trade is flourishing like never before. Warloards go and kidnap girls and Hamid Karzai, whose government has been called most corrupt even by US.... I am tellilng you all this simply because one must speak the truth. Other than than I have nothing in common with Taliban who happen to have no formal education, so they are on different level from you and me.

Al Saud and western powers work hand in hand all kings of Al Saud take over with the ready approval of the US of A so please do some research. 99.9% of the mosques in Muslim countries, as well as in UK and USA, are backed by their money. As for Omar Al Bashir well how come USA declared that well educated Hassan Turabi (great grandson of the Mahdi of Sudan) a terrorist and Omar Al Bashir was given power over him to put him in jail ???

Education has nothing to do with all this. Many clerics are well educated bit they use that to spin while the Taliban are more hinest.

Your argumenst is basically we should not talk about Talian unless we first talk about the US. The US does not do things based on Islam. They do not say their actions are based on Islam. Just today the Mufti of Saudi Arabia issued a fatwa saying any church built on the Arabian peninsula should be destroyed.

In Egypt they want to issue a law that would amputate thiefs. I am not sure what makes you defend these guys. Maybe when they charge you with apostasy and heresy and sentence you to 80 lashes maybe then you will wake up.

I fail to understand why you think it's important to talk about Hadiths or the Muslim Brotherhood. Hamas or the Taliban, who aren't following the Qur'an, how are they any different from the US?
I have lived in the West for over 30 years and have enjoyed educated debate here and feel at home here, it's my worry that if we allow USA, and other western countries, to stop using logic and common sense and speak what is just and right then it will spell the end of all of us.

What does the US and the West has to do with the topic we are discussing? I fail to understand you. Plus what the US and the West are following has to do with Jewish activism.

Why don't you open a thread to discuss US foreign policy and we can talk about Jewish activism which is a subject I know very well anyways. But I am not sure what does this all has to do with the culture of violence that is spreading among Muslim societies and groups. And I have said before that 9-11 has shown that an Islamic re-examination needs to take place. But also a Judaic re-examination needs to take place. Its a battle between the Sunnah and the Talmud.

Or perhaps what you are saying is that the culture of violence and intolerance we are seeing in Muslim societies and groups has to do with a reaction to Western foreign policies. That explains why some Muslims hate America and want to attack America but it does not explain why women get flogged in Sudan for wearing pants or for prostituting or why the blogger Hamza of Saudi Arabia is facing a possible death sentence. It does not explain why a young girl who got raped in Somalia got flogged for fornification and why women in Saudi can't drive cars. Or why the Taliban behead journalist and prisoners of war or why they believe women shouldn't go to schools or hold public office.

The hadiths i quoted are far a better explanation as to why we see all this and more importantly it explains why no Muslims authority is able to stop this culture from spreading.

But its all good for us. The more the terror the better, at least for the Koranist persuasion. People don't change because they want to, they change because they have to.

Student of Allah had it right. The terrorirst are simply more sincere in their Sunnah than the so called moderates. And thats why the terrorist don't pay any attention to Muslims who condemn them or critique them. The Sunni world can't stop them, but we can.

Then I will answer your question about the violence against women, which has been practiced for hundreds of years, in many uncivilised countries, and for which we should all be truly concerned. That is why I would seek the root of the problem i.e. who employs and funds those clerics, or Mullahs, who advocate miltant Islam, causing more and more mosques to be radicalized.

Women have more rights than men in many countries, exceptions being the fake Islamic ones, since Sunnism, Wahabbism, Shiism, and other cults aren't Islamic.
