    Peace,

I am puzzled by how we live today with so many religions and so many disagreements within each of these religions.

Christianity immediately split up soon after it took hold 300 years after Jesus died.

Islam split not long after Muhammad died.

There are parts of the world like India and China that have Billions of people following religions that do not share in the idea of one GOD.

The question I have is there anything in the Quran that talks about the fact that GOD who knows the present and future anticipated this happening.

Why did he allow it to occur?

If he knew that the first time he sent his first prophet that it would not be the last one since he would need to send so many after him?

Every time he sent a new profhet it started a new religion which caused it to be different and created fricition with the ones before it and the ones after it?

Why did GOD not figure out a way to communicate exactly what he wanted in no uncertain terms and make sure that all of us understood what he wanted without any possible dissention from others that might think he had something else in mind from day one?

I can understand he had to send several to cover many parts of the earth that was not easily traveled back then but why did each seem to end up with such different outcome then the others? Did he not know that was going to happen?

He sent more prophets to correct the past ones but it ended up creating more confusion and fighting

I am puzzled by the fact everyone thinks their religion is the correct one and all others are wrong?

I am puzzled how even within each religion there is infighting as to who really is practicing the religion in the correct way.

      Peace Oppy

I've wondered about this one too.

To make sense of it I disconnected the idea of RELIGION from the idea of RiGHTEOUSNESS. Allah didn't give us any shortcuts to salavation - its someting we have to strive for - and just 'joining' one club or another is no guarantee of salvation. This applies if the club is catholicism, sunni islam, god alone, shia or whatever. Our salvation lies in our own hands and depends upon our actions in this life - this is the supreme test which our creator has set us.

      I take this from 548 -

      And We have revealed to you the Book with the truth, verifying what is before it of the Book and a guardian over it, therefore judge between them by what Allah has revealed, and do not follow their low desires (to turn away) from the truth that has come to you; for every one of you did We appoint a law and a way, and if Allah had pleased He would have made you (all) a single people, but that He might try you in what He gave you, therefore strive with one another to hasten to virtuous deeds; to Allah is your return, of all (of you), so He will let you know that in which you differed;

imo - Allah allowed different religions like He allows all kinds of evil and perversions to take place on this earth. Why did he permit murder or terrorism in his name or paedophilia? We have been granted vice-regency for a limited time on this earth and the ways we use and abuse that gift will be taken into account of the day of judgement.

        Peace be upon you,

        Man creates religions.

The God's message has always been the same, but the arrogance in people cause one to want to be better than the other, so we get all kinds of sects.

Remember, this is a test, not a summer camp.

          Peace Oppy,

That is, imho, one of the reasons Earth was intended for, otherwise we would all be in Heaven (Paradise = Firdous)!

            Allah allowed us CHOICE.

In being permitted with Choice it was mankind who chose to stray from the truth.

It was mankind who chose to war over religion.

It was mankind who chose to break into sects.

I think you get the drift.

              Oppe,

Here is what Allah says as to how/why you will disassemble as enmies amongst yourselves for want of humility.

              002.036
YUSUFALI Then did Satan make them slip from the (humility), and get them out of the state (of being one race) in which they had been. We said "Get ye down, all (ye people), with enmity between yourselves. On earth will be your dwelling-place and your means of livelihood - for a time."

                Salaam Oppy

There is only one religion, monotheism, but God himself created variations in how it was delieverd and how people practiced it.

Just as he created variations in our languages and features.

These variations were not in the religion but in the ritual practices.
But people made the ritual practices a religion and so forgot the real religion.

                peace.
