Because, any divine messenger could show to anyone what is right. That they could do, but they couldn't guide people. Guidance is from GOD.
Buddha I know what I have told them, but I don't know what they have understood.
And many times guided people transgress their own competencies by wanting to guide the others. That's waste of energy and intent.
Those who are ready will show up themselves. The rest will remain asleep with their eyelids open.

So yes we have power to harm and benefit each other. The nuance here is that nobody can act in opposition to the absolute will of God. You can point the gun but God is the one that pulls the trigger, you can lead the horse to water but God decides if they may drink.

False! You can point the gun and pull the trigger and kill the person. YOU have killed the person on your own responsibility and will. It is good who LET this happen (ie. he didn't intervene to test you and to go with his law of free will). It is basically a test, and in the after life we will be shown our deeds - namely what we did, and we will be judged on them. Whether or not the person dies from the gun shot is in God's hands.
It would be unfair for God to judge a person for killing someone when He himself would have set off the trigger. This is why we have free will and the Last Day.

Well technically you are right but it is God who decides if the trigger gets pulled. Remember we are held accountable for our intentions, good or bad, not necessarily the outcomes.
For example you may have wanted to pull the trigger and kill a person but the gun misfires, or jams or for some reason you just can't pull the trigger. I see that as God intervened BUT you will still be held accountable for your intentions, what you wanted and tried to do. The same thing can happen if you were sincerely trying to do something good but it doesn't work or happen as you hoped it would. I believe God would still give you "credit" for your actual intentions, and He knows us best and deepest and knows the absolute truth about our motivations and intentions, better than we do.

I meant that metaphorically as in you can try to harm/misguide but only God chooses if it is allowed to happen. It's funny that it happens to work literally too.

Anyhow intention is good and all but at the end of the day you can't eat good intentions when you're hungry.
