So this has been puzzling me in regards to 478-79 and 817

"Any good that befalls you is from God, and any bad that befalls you is from yourself. We have sent you as a messenger to the people and God is enough as a witness." (47

I understand what you do is your own fault, but stuck on the part about whatever good befalls you is from God.

The theories I have include that the good means following the type of life as described in the Quran where you won't get into trouble thus everything remains good as you and therefore whatever bad happens is your fault for going against the Quran and consequences to follow (backbite a friend and the friend hates you forever kinda thing as an example).

Another theory is that the world was designed to be naturally good or rather peaceful, thus enough provisions for us to live on and the only way we'll end up with consequences is by doing bad things such as killing each other.

The third is that when good things happen, it is out of guidance and that if we don't follow that guidance we have caused consequence. The problem I have with that one is how much guidance are we talking about? A start up point to get a job? or every little baby step to the point where it feels like free will is gone? The other problem I have with this one is that the Quran is the book of guidance, so why would we be in need of further guidance as he has stated what to do and not do to be successful? thus this one I feel is the weakest as the Quran is already our guidance unless we ask him for further guidance in prayers on a certain subject (from what I believe)

    Then there is this verse
"It was not you who killed them, but it was God who killed them. And it was not you who launched when you did, but it was God who launched. And so that the believers would be tested well by Him. God is Hearer, Knowledgeable." (817)

Does it rather refer to how they followed Gods book in fighting the Kaffirs that God takes the victory upon himself even though it was a solder who actually stabbed that person much like how the king of a nation takes credit for the death counts and victory in battle against the opposition?

Anyways, this has been stressing me out, so much help would be nice thanks

I am glad you asked about this. I have been thinking about it for the past couple of days. It would be nice to get others' viewpoints on this.

Basically that your brain is a database. It stores all the information and makes the decision.

This happens 6 seconds before your action. Once the decision is made by the brain you cannot take it back.

Those that are self critical, learn from the bad decision and try to question search correct etc...

            Peace.

You can live right by God taking the Koran as a guidance in your life and yet bad things can happen. How? There is satan whose job is to throw you off your course. He does this through people (ex..you believe/trust someone and the person betrays you causing a lot of pain/harm). He does this by playing psychological games (ex....you betray your own self with doubts, fear, and so on leading to distress/stress). And so yes, we do need constant guidance from God to be successful or pull ourselves back from being thrown off balance.

Looking at it simplistically - God offers good. Bad things are from satan. We have that choice of what we accept. If we choose the bad things then we made the bad decision/choices. We have no one to blame except ourselves for the choices we make. We are limited human beings and so we need God's help to guide us in choosing the good and staying away from bad.

So this then would likely refer more to how as I suspected everything is made good and nice naturally and that living by the book gets you good results and keeps you out of trouble. But because people who cause evil such as murderers or your bad decisions it causes the natural good become corupt and thus evil.

                  Alright makes sense

Verse 478 says ?when they are in a pleasant situation, they attribute it to Allah, but blame the Prophet for their troubles. Tell them ?everything is from Allah? (?s law)

Verses 479 Further says ?What is (wrong) with them? They don?t try to understand. Remember, the pleasantness you get is from Allah and your troubles are

One might think there is an apparent contradiction here. One verse says the good and the bad all come from Allah, whereas the other verse appears to say the good is from Allah but the bad is from Man. The apparent contradiction can actually be resolved thus

                    i) All events- good or bad - occur according to natural (Allah?s) laws
                    ( &#1607.
ii) Allah?s Law - if followed - shall bring good to you -

                    but
iii) If you follow the path of your own choice (other than Allah?s), the natural result will be trouble.

Simply put, then, all events (actions) bear results pre-determined by Allah?s law. If one follows the natural (Allah?s suggested) course, one benefits. Otherwise (when one defies the divine law) the natural consequence is tragedy. Therefore, all good is from Allah whereas evil is brought upon Man by himself.

ooh I like your explanation. So thus why say we have fire. Naturally is from God as he designed to heat us and hurts whoever touches it. Thus both aspects of it come from God, thus if we follow the Quran, we get only its benefits, but if we refuse to and try to permanently burn ourselves, then it is our own fault.

Yet there are things that both benefit us and hurt too, like a job where we lose our time but make money, or buying you really want something that might hurt your wallet quite a bit without cutting into your needs, or eaten delicious but really fattening chocolate that has enough calories to fatten you, or a tattoo where its both painful but beautiful? or even the pain of child birth yet the benefit of a child. This is what I like to label the grey zone. Course in many of these I think the benefits outweigh the bad stuff, thus I am guess this rather refers to if the bad outweighs the good in said situations.

i believed and trusted someone who betrayed me. so, i didn't do anything wrong but made a bad choice in trusting a person and ended up getting deeply hurt. i can say without any doubt in my mind that all credit goes to God for helping me get back up on my feet again and not let evil drag me and keep me down.

Thanks a lot. By the way, it is not my personal explanation. I read this explanation from Parvez from his book, Kitabu Taqdeer (Book of Destiny). You can read it from the following link. According to me, it is an amazing work, you will find answers for many of your complex doubts. http//www.tolueislam.org/Parwez/kt/KT.htm

Now the question comes as to how you were helped up? Is it thr natural laws of the world that God created that gave you opportunity to bring yourself up and thus why God gets credit for the help? And therefore the lack of interference from those who cause a disturbance weren't there to wreck it?

                              Selam Aryan Warrior ,

Nice thread . I understand the concept of man basically causing trouble for themselves... to be honest.. I think the hardest thing is accepting the suffering of people. Me and my family were having a conversation today... we know that Allah has his system and natural laws... but I sometimes feel when I see the some children in some countries barely an infant who are starving and suffering because they have no sanitation or food to eat.. I do sometimes think why Allah can't you save these people? But then I think it's a test for us to provide them with sustenance because everything on this Earth is enough for everyone... and then I say, Allah said that noone will ever suffer more than they can bare... -sighs- but I think what is the limit? These children are painfully suffering... was telling my family I suppose your body eventually just automatically shuts down after a degree of too much pain.. But anyway sorry Aryan Warrior was going off topic xD, I agree with Aabdul, I think we cause our own problems and we can also solve them by finding God. In reply to your last post, I think that seeking guidance from Allah and comfort since he is the greatest comforter is a way of bringing yourself back up. I've always wondered it must be very hard for someone not believing in God to pick themselves up and maybe say something on the lines of "oh well that's life". God is there to give us comfort and guide us where we actually feel guided because even if we face disturbances from other people, we are the ones who can request for guidance and be able to handle/deal with these disturbances and I speak from personal experience .

                              Peace peace

My only question is how does this guidance work? Not every problem is in the book of guidance, the Quran. That includes finding a job in this case. Is it influence here and there? or just His positivity that gives us the energy to look further and therefore why its called guidance?

Let me point out some verses from Quran that can provide us a clue for why all these sufferings!

The Quran calls it Allah?s earth (1154); ?Everything in it has been created for you all ? (229); ?We have produced in it for you all means of life -- ? (710; 1520; it is ?sustenance for people ? ? (5011); therefore, it should remain accessible to all the needy (4110). In very clear terms, the Quran has dubbed hoarding of wealth as gathering fuel for the hellfire in which humanity is burned to ashes (934-35); (7015-1. Money should circulate in society, not among just the upper strata but like blood circulates in the body - (597). The Rizq obtained according to Allah?s laws is ?good and lasting? (20131). Individuals get more than they work for, i. e., all their needs are met. Such a society is established so that ?Allah gives them the return of their deeds in a better way, and even more from His bounty? --; thus Allah gives, according to His plan, without estimates (more than you can think of in your terms!) (243. That is why Allah calls Himself ?the best of all sustenance providers? (2372; 6211).

The Quran goes on to say that when men face shortage of sustenance, they blame Allah for afflicting them without cause. It is said, ?Tell them that Allah doesn?t degrade anyone without due reason. Tell those who think this way that they are absolutely wrong. Allah does not despise or humiliate anybody without reason. The reason for your being disgraced is that you have established a society in which people who are not considered worthy of respect, have been left alone. Only the one who has a strong party is considered worthy of respect. And in that society there is no arrangement whereby if someone?s business is affected for any reason, that at least he should not be deprived of sustenance. The affluent neither help him, nor do they persuade others to do so. On the contrary, you greedily devoured all that which came into your possession by way of inheritance from your forefathers." (8916-20)

Allah does not despise or humiliate anybody without reason. ooh well said. The big 1% that the world detests are probably the reason for all this. While one can get quite rich there, they should provide to charity too. Most don't unfortunately, but some do such as Bill Gates who provides billions upon billions to charity. The rest just want to keep growing their money for the sake of growing their money which is what is known as hoarding money. They got no plans, nor do they consider it back up money, nor are they keeping it just incase their company is in trouble and gotta keep it working. Simply pure selfish greed. Billionares are truly what hurt the world nowadays.

I myself am in the film industry (just starting) and if I end up becoming rich by how well I work, I plan to follow the Quran and provide to charity such as sponsoring a child or two who are poor somewhere around the world, while I of course still live comfortably and building my future plans )

Whats truly unfortunately though is that Africa is so hopeless. Even if one donates to Africa and is indeed helping the people there, some crazy terrorist group comes and destroys all that development and thus money is thrown to waste cause of such actions.

Regardless I may have gotten off topic here but in regards to your post and the topic I had started here, I understand that in this end what all this means is that God made this world so no one will be suffering, yet people have went against it and made such things happens buy keeping billions from society, mass murder, and so much more.

                                        Peace Aryan Warrior,

"Any good that befalls you is from God, and any bad that befalls you is from yourself. We have sent you as a messenger to the people and God is enough as a witness." (47

Before proceeding with your questions, let's start with human responsibilities.

                                        1. What you hear
                                        2. What you see
                                        3. What you think

This is is the complete human experience, because hearing, seeing and thinking lead to emotion, and emotion to decision.

Reponsibility is the ability to respond. The world is not your responsibility, but the ability to respond to it, yes.

True, any goodness is from GOD, and the rest is from the self.

Now this is the part where those who are masters of the own senses excel beyond the rest who talk but don't do.

Guidance is the sum of Inspirations of the prophets (holy scriptures) and personal guidance during life.

To this, prayer is the answer of the problem. Someone said let's say you don't have a job and need/want one.

As the saying goes, tell me how you pray, I tell you how intelligent you are.

Intelligence is the ability to Pray beyond human limitations.

If I needed a job, the prayer would be Lord, please find me a job thru which I serve only Thee. Thank you, please guide me. (Repeat 70x)

Service to GOD is a natural phenomenon, which human education has polluted and missdirected.

Money follows the person who serves the Lord of all treasures of the world.

This is the trick/and test which most eat like pig shit.

If work for money, money will be your god.

If your work, your life, your breath, your movement and complete being, you dedicate to GOD, then that dedication is human orientation.

It makes sense, completes the being independetly from the world, and brings guidance.

Human is made to be and stand in the Presence of the All-Mighty. Just like the moon is the reflection of the sun.

The question is, how to become a full moon, and not a fool human?

The answer is Forward as many moments of the day to GOD.

As I am writing what I'm writing, the prayer is Lord guide and heal the people reading this.

When your responsibilities, hearing eyesight and the mind are channels of GOD's light, then you are in the service of GOD.

Then you are instrument of GOD. Then you are divine servant.

Ever happened to you to do something in such easy way and with a result than yourself were awed?

That was you complete in His Presence.

That's why GOD told to Muhammad, did you think that you stroke?!, it was Me striking.

That kind of surrender takes place, only if one is aware of GOD, and remembers GOD most moments of the day.

Get lost and drunk in His remembrance.

Be fool among the wicked. But be light among the guided.

Then you know without knowing, and you do without doing. Because then, now and forever, you're part of the Perfect endless system of Life.

Any trouble you have, is a call to turn it into prayer.

Final prayer God, let me respond to the world thru your light, and please give me pure insight. Let my heart be content in you, and know that I love you.

Each moment is a potential prayer. Each stone is a potential source of water......only if you touch it with a blessed staff.

Praise be to GOD. The peace of the heart, wisdom of the soul and balance of the body.

                                        Peace,
                                        R.

Now the question comes as to how you were helped up? Is it thr natural laws of the world that God created that gave you opportunity to bring yourself up and thus why God gets credit for the help? And therefore the lack of interference from those who cause a disturbance weren't there to wreck it?

the pain of betrayal was too much to handle feeling so paralyzed. taking my friend's suggestion, i turned to God to help me give the strength as i knew that i could't rely on my strength alone to over come. knowing that God was with me 24/7 helped when i would wake up in the middle of the night and various times during the day feeling mixture of emotions. i could have gone into depression, turning into an angry, resentful, bitter, distrustful, negative person. but i chose to listen to God. when i was angered, i worked on forgiveness. i relied on God to help me with my hurt/anger/pain. all that negative energy weighs you down and are toxic to the system. this is where prayer and reliance on God helped. i asked God to help me heal realizing that i had to let go of my anger both towards me for trusting and towards the person for betraying that trust. the choice was for me to make - let satan drag me down to the emotional abyss or hold onto God to pull me up ridding me of all the negativity.

i chose to take God's guidance from the koran incorporating His characteristics of being caring and compassionate instead of hating and condemning. i chose to care about the person who hurt me as when you hurt others, you only hurt yourself. and it made me feel better. God tells us to make friends out of enemies and how to fight evil with goodness. being good to the person who hurt me can only lead to good outcome for my own soul and per chance for the other person as well.

and so, this is why i feel and believe without any doubt that all credit goes to God. i am better as a result of God.
