Is the Quran the last scripture
-
You mean to say that the One works in a way of trial ? That it didn't know in advance what was likely to happen to his disciples ? That the One randomly, after years and years, changed its mind and thought it would be better to stop sending 'prophets' ?
Nope, I don't think "The One works in a way of trial".. but in any case we shall never know 'the real reason' anyway.. it's like questioning why "The one decides the earth gravity level to be 9.81 G" for example..
We can guess of course.... another reason is perhaps 'the non-terrestrial messenger' itself is quite busy with tending another sentient beings on the offshoot of this galaxy? Well he is an angel too. and he has limitation on doing many things in parallel... give him a break man.. he deserve it... after all of his hard work...
Anyway, sages, saints, prophets.. it's just a problem of words really.
Not really... Prophets or Nabiyy is specific.. only known within semitic / eastern part of Mediterranean sea area..
Nabiyy are those who spoke things which is not coming from his own consciousness.. they believe what the Nabiyy spoke is coming from the 'divine source'..According to the Quran it's 'the angel' (or glorious messenger) who spoke words through Muhammad's mouth... in today's terminology it will be... Alien spoke through human mouth... That's what "Nabiy" is...
Messenger is a more generic term... and there's no statement within the Quran that there will be no more messenger..
The similitude will be like.. a postal office saying that this package is the last delivery of "Pony Express".. (Package delivered through horse riders) we're retiring the product/services and from this point on all of our package will be delivered by trucks or van....
Salam / Peace

?have I said that? I do not think so. And you are obviating some of the things I said.
Salaam
You said this
naas is not from root n-w-s, but a-n-s.
That is one thing.
In response I requested this
Peace Huruf, please share a rule from the said language to date that says that a Hemzated root like a-n-s could lose first radical Hemza and be substituted by "elif" at the place of second radical letter?
But your response was this
Sorry, I said that blankwar did not give a translation. I said it wrong. He does give a translation. But I couldn't see it immediately. At any rate, I do not agree with that translation.
Rabb an-nas, is a common possessive contruction in Arabic and no matter anything else you would have to translate as Lord or sustainer of confusion or whatever value you want to give to naas.
On the other hand, what about the many times in the Qur'an where it says
Ya ayuha an-naas?
In fact there is another instance of what happens with n aas, and is ibn which becomes bin.
naas is unaas. Apocopated if you like.
I am not an expert in Arabic grammar, but the use is all over the Qur'an.
Salaam
Is not more prudent to learn before commenting on something that one has no knowledge? Please note my whole point is that by default "the translation of Quran" which is accepted as real Quran is not the case. It is earth shaking statement for lot of people. I am showing by examples and inviting people to interactively work either to prove it wrong based upon language rules. If not join hands to decode rest of the book, irrespective how different it may turn out to be from our held beliefs.

Are you saying that Rabb an-nas as not a possesive construction?
Salaam
Thanks Huruf, I am not, its a genetive case not only just possesive. In genetive case there could be other relationship between nouns. It is better described as annexation. However, due revision again of this verse. I have improved understanding of preposition "be" with word Rabb to mean "about" which makes lot more sense in the context. (One use of "be" is to express adhesion). I thank you for this.
Surah 1141
Reflect and then express in your words that, I seek protection from the state of commotion about my Rabb. (Sustainer, Foster, Maintainer and Accomplisher.)
