Just like you, some of the shallow preoccupations scholars speak about were among the things that made me question everything. For example, hearing so many times complaints about mixing between men and women as if that was the root of all the problems in the world seemed often illogical to me. Now that just sounds hilarious.
I also don't understand this "race" about who will finish reading the Quran first that happens during Ramadan. & What matters is to reflect and grasp the Lord's words and message; no matter how much time it takes.

And hold strong to The Book of Allah, don't get fooled with the nice hadiths, they are not more then a trick to misguide you from the Path Allah pointed for you.And thanks for the ayaats, I really love those ayaats but starting from 2675. btw I think 2688 and 2689 are not anymore the speech of Ibrahim but I could be wrong.

I always thought verses 88 and 89 are a continuation of prophet Ibrahim's speech, but your opinion makes sense too D -

My mother would pay a lot to preachers so that i would go back to the "straight path".
In my mind, if you'd give those money to the poor that would have been a money better spent.Salam,

You are definitely right! Muslims must focus more on helping the poor rather than helping us follow traditions. -

In my mind, if you'd give those money to the poor that would have been a money better spent.Make sure she managed to get a 'money back guarantee' from the preachers.. Otherwise the preachers shall tries to "keep you away from the straight path" as long as possible..
