Check out this poem about WOMEN

Shalom Aleikhem everyone,
Thanks for your thoughts.
I wonder What would the reaction of that hadither facebook page be if someone posted the opposite ?
THE BEAUTY OF A MAN
The beauty of a man lies IN HIS SILENCE rather than his speech
The beauty of a man lies IN HIS HIJAB rather than displaying his open hair
The beauty of a man lies IN HIS SUBMISSION rather that his leadership
The beauty of a man lies IN HIS SMILE rather than his laughter
The beauty of a man lies IN HIS PATIENCE rather than his inquisitiveness
The beauty of a man lies IN HIS ABODE rather than his adventure
The beauty of a man lies IN UPBRINGING HIS OFFSPRING rather than himself
The beauty of a man lies IN HIS EXPERIENCE rather than his age
The beauty of a man lies IN HIS HEART DEPTH rather than in skin deep
The beauty of a man lies in his PERSPIRATION rather than his perfumes
The beauty of a man lies in PLEASING his LORD because He is the creator of such a beautiful thing called ?Man?...!!!Mullah How dare you ? Shut up shaitan, you are created from the bone of a man, so you will have to be the one that shuts up and follows order of the man.
Salam Student of Allah,
I would suggest to replace "the beauty" with "the agony"
The agony of the oppressed lies IN HER SILENCE rather than her speech
The agony of the oppressed lies IN HER HIJAB rather than displaying her open hair
The agony of the oppressed lies IN HER SUBMISSION rather that her leadership
The agony of the oppressed lies IN HER SMILE rather than her laughter
The agony of the oppressed lies IN HER PATIENCE rather than her inquisitiveness
The agony of the oppressed lies IN HER ABODE rather than her adventurePeace,
Johanlol, ya, you could do that. However, I did not remove "the beauty" because I wanted to show that in their head, they model oppression of women as something beautiful. They are trying to make it look virtuous when a person is oppressed.
Peace be on you all

I don't know, may be I have taken it toooooo far. But I would like to know your views (on the original one). Would you agree if I say that the poetry mostly glorifies oppression ? Would you agree that for a women the poem is mostly suggesting that there is virtue in giving up all rights including the God given ones ?
Yes it is right completly. it 's glorifies oppression- i lived 8 year in this way and i lost completly my personality, i was a ghost of earth not ever a women... it's so very bad and so common -just for cry -X
keep your poem in the FB and then look what they will say! Yours is much better!

peaceShalom Aleikhem mirjamnur,
The thing is, I already got banned from alot of websites and pages and groups on facebook. About this "Young Muslims" page, well, I often post my new blog posts on their page, nobody opposed to that as of yet. I think people just look at the post and think "oh..an Islamic post". Thats it !! However, the day they realize that those posts aren't their average Islamic posts teaching them the 17 sunnahs of clipping your nails....something will happen and I hope I dont get banned
Peace

Eh, I don't know. A woman can voluntarily adopt all those qualities. I personally like them silent rotfl
But in all seriousness, it depends on whether or not they're advocating forcibly making women submissive.

Shalom Aleikhem,
Well that wasnt my point.
You can voluntarily isolate yourself in a room and cut all access to all information. You can stop reading journals/books/papers/etc. I do not have any problem with that. However, I was asking about people that goes around and promotes such behaviors by trying to make it look "virtuous". I mean, if my kid wants to keep quiet, I can't force my kid to not keep quiet. However, I can not teach my kid that it is righteous to shut up when the other person is bullsh*tting and you can definitely refute them with reason in a good manner!!
Thank you for taking the time to share your view.
Peace

Eh it depends what it means by these things, sometimes these sort of "poetic" posts are metaphorical mumbo jumbo which don't even have well established meanings.

I don't know, but someone's got to defend the Hadithers, right?

I'm sorry but WTF?!?!?!
It's things like this that drive me crazy, like today I was just trying to get some information about fasting and then I came across the line that says what one should avoid while fasting for Ramadan and it said "avoid advocating of unislamic practices such as democracy and socialism".
Complete and utter garbage. SMH, when I constantly read and come across things like this it is really hard on my faith honestly because it would just feel like it would be easier to go back and pretend I never even found Quran and God in the first place.

Socialism and democracy are unislamic. That's a revelation in itself!
At the end of the day, there are an umpteen number of Muslims on the planet as there are other folks belonging to other groups. Just because some numpty claims something absurd, that doesnt mean they speak on behalf of an entire entity and nor should it put you off. Sometimes, you just have to acknowledge idiocy and walk straight on by. It is for you to determine what you believe and what you don't believe. If you feel there might be substance in something that someone is claiming, then do your research, ask Allah for guidance, follow what seems right in your heart. If you're okay with the flow, then great. Conversely, if it turns out you're not "feeling" it, then as the verse goes "no compulsion..". All the best to you. May Allah guide us all. Salaam.

Just saw this post, here are some thoughts
I def don?t think its glorifying oppression... See it?s all about perceptions.
Talking about rubbish is useless, idle talk is a waste of time, talking of what you don?t know can lead to alot of crap so sometimes silence is better than speech.
Hijab is an interpretation of modesty, each to their own. Having open hair or not however wont make you immodest.
We?re all submitters to God?
You ever hear people excessively laugh? Smiling is more charming (in my bias opinion)
I don?t get how they got inquisitiveness as a form of negative. There is a famous hadith i really like ?knowledge is a treasure and questions are its key? how can one expand if they do not ask and enquire, inquisition is good
It?s hard to be selfless sometimes
that poem could equally be applied to men actually i could add a whole lot more to it haha
peace

You only say that Sir, because they are resposible for your present state.

I'm no fan of democracy (and I definitely am an opponent of socialism), but I get that. And what puzzles me is, why is it that we must avoid doing these particular acts only when fasting? confused

Dear Sarah,
Maybe they meant asking too many question when it's not in your business but they could have used nosy instead ! -
yeh maybe

because it's the perfect time for a spiritual high? when are muslims most committed into being muslims? fasting is a big struggle, so i dunno maybe that's it

I must be one of the ugliest women in the world with my education and traveling and dreams of law school. Not to mention I show my hair and wear deordorant. Worst of all I have no children which ofncourse makes me worthless. And here I thought that Allah created Man and Woman from one spirit and women and men could do the same things except what He has forbidden of made physically impossible.

Peace,
IMHO, (you) we shouldn't let other people's and "scholars" ignorance affect (y)our trust in God.

lol. in other words, following points make you ugly according to traditional islam
- You travel without a mehram (women travelling alone means giving women the chance to commit adultery)
- Instead of dreaming of pleasing your husband and giving birth to many children, you dream of law school? Woman, you dont have to dream of law school.. dream of having a muslim husband instead and he will provide you with money so you dont need to study law.
And dont forget to give birth to a lot of sons so they can provide for you as well. (in other words, make sure that you always depend on men) - You dont have children? You are going against your nature. The nature of woman is to give birth to a lot of children and caring for them (in other words, women are birth machines).
- Yes yes men and women are equal but not identical due to the difference in nature. Thats why only men can become khalifas, have four wifes etc. (in other words, men and women are not equal)
Peace

I understand where you are coming from, it can be difficult in the beginning. Especially when you hear 2x more negative than positive. When I was going through this, I turned to Quran. Over time you will learn to tune out the others that are effecting your faith. When it is new, you get overwhelmed. You'll be fine sweety, trust in Allah with an open heart. He will never leave you.
Meemz, You made me laugh with the I show my hair and wear deodorant. Sadly what Maha said is true. What about the women must seek her husbands permission to fast. UGH. There really is a difference between men and women. the men feel the rule, even though I can do everything they can except get someone prego. My daughter will never rely on a man. If she wants a husband fine, it will be to enhance her life and who she is, not drain it.
The men would never accept a poem written in the same fashion towards them.
